For those with an Audi Q7 3.0 TDI 4L... (Mine was a 2009) Same as this video except a lot less clearance to remove engine mount bolts. Remember when you lower engine back down, locate the top thread of the mount back through bracket, I used pliers to line it up. Here is the secret you don't see until you reach it... unlike this video, there is no physical way to remove the LH mount from the engine bay once removed. Like winning a skill tester toy that is too big to get out the flap of the machine. You can't get it out the same way as the other side due to AC compressor being in the way To get clearance to get it out, undo LH bolt holding transfer case shaft to subframe. Lever case up and slide out between shaft and steering rack 👍
Do you guys know a safe spot I can use a floor jack to lift the engine? (I won't have the truck on a lift unfortunately 😞) I don't think the oil pan is safe.. I see you guys lifted the block from the looks of it but my floor jack can't possibly reach that. Thanks in advance man!!!
Thanks for posting this. I have an 09 Cayenne with the 3.6L pretty much the same set up. Did you have to remove any other components in the drive train or steering column to gain access or to do the job, or is it pretty much the same technique as swapping out motor mounts on other cars? Thanks again!
Great video. Well done. Thanks for the info. I have a 2011 Q7 that I need to change the mounts but the driver's side mount has a tube over the top. How can you get to the top nut of the motor mount?
@@Autoenginecheck Thanks for the reply. I k now what tools to use but what I was mentioning is the 2011 Q7 has a tube that goes OVER the top of the motor mount on the driver's side which blocks access to the top nut. I was wondering if there's a procedure to get to that nut without removing the tube. I don't know what the tube is for.
Can you explain how to do that because I have one as well I'm actually replacing both engine mounts and transmission mount but there is NOTHING on a video how to do that... so how do you replace the transmission mount
Assalamu alaikum sir, raise the front wheel well and go under the car with the ranges and open the bolts that need to be opened to open the mount. Install the side jack or leaf on the side mount that you will remove first. If possible, take a hydraulic bottle-shaped jack. If it is higher, you can install a jack with a wooden block under the jack. Mains should be opened and taped to prevent damage
Thank you so much for the response, sir!! Can you please advise where I would lift the engine up at though? Subframe? Or oil pan? (I do not have bottle jack ) Also, what exactly is the mains that need to be taped? Sorry for the many questions 😭
If you are saying I should use my floor jack with piece of wood to lift engine, could you please say where exactly I'm lifting ? Like which part of the block? I'm scared to crack it!
