Everyone who’s stressing out and asking questions about this and that don’t worry. That will be your biggest problem, don’t think too much. I’ve done a WHV in a few countries. Play things by ear, talk to people, see what happens when you get there! I’ve never planned any of my travels EVER, just go and check the place out. No point planning what could be when you have no idea what the future holds. If you must worry about anything worry about your passport and money.

That’s interesting I know if you’re on the 462 you’re technically allowed to do hospitality jobs and tourism (like working at bars and cafes) instead of farm work to renew your visa. But you have to do it in northern Australia. So basically Queensland and stuff.

Ahh not even planning to go to Australia for my first year of a working holiday until early next year but already so worried about how long it’s going to take to get my 88 days! Everything I’ve heard is that it’s difficult to get a job and then when you do find a job, it’s not likely that you’re going to be working 5 days a week so it takes a lot longer than expected to get to that 88 day mark 😩

Hi girl, it’s actually not that hard. I worked 6 days a week on the pumpkin farm and I know loads of people that got work for 5 days a week as well, especially if you go on smaller/private farms ❤️

4:20, you can still apply again even though the 12 months have been wasted, just can't turn 31(35) yet. Fuck farm work haha! I'll just work as a waiter/kitchen hand on my 462 for a 3rd year.

You can only do your working holiday year once and as far as I know you can’t apply for it multiple times. Where did you hear that that’s possible? And yeah it’s lucky when you are on a 462 visa, people on a 417 can’t do that.

@@travelwithlille yeah you can only do it once but people who missed the 12 months lapse can apply again if they have not used their working holiday visa. So if they applied and have waited longer than 12 months for not activating it, they can apply again.

Awsome video really really helpful, you just got one of my top questions out of the way, so as simple as Yes or No, can I get a Permanent Resident, like apply for it, during my first year working holiday Visa? Like is it possible??

No it’s not. You can’t get permanent residency just by having a working holiday visa. You get PR by the de-facto relationship/partner visas or a sponsorship from an employer.

Rn it depends where you’re from. Their borders are still technically closed and they’re not processing any holiday visas at the moment bc it’s not top priority. Just look on the government website and stay updated!

Man kann sich theoretisch die Pille für bis zu 12 Monate verschreiben lassen 😊 ich habe aber kurz vorher die Pille abgesetzt deshalb war das für mich kein Problem.

what kind of jobs can you do with that visa? Can I exercise a profesional position as an Engineer (if I have the title from my home country) or do I have to work as a waiter, work on fields, etc?

Technically on either visa you can do whatever kind of work you can find/are qualified for. However, if you want to stay for the second year you MUST have completed the 88 days of farm work. Another issue comes with the fact that on the Working Holiday Visas subclass 417 and 462 you CANNOT work at the same place for longer than 6 months. And most professional businesses don’t want to hire someone for just 6 months.

Do you know if the amount of time spent in Australia on the Working Holiday Visa will count towards the required time spent in Australia to eventually become a citizen? I know the question might seem dumb and obvious, but if I choose to live in Australia (for the rest of my life) in a few years I want to be sure it will count towards it.

Ok so I found some forums on it (from 2010) and I have discovered it does not count :). As of then, it only counts once you are in Australia on a Permanent resident visa.

You can apply for an exemption because of work. Your boss should be able to help you with that. It is currently quite hard to enter tho because of covid

Yes but it has to be with a different employer. There are some new rules right now regarding the corona situation which allows you to work for more than 6 months with one employer but maybe look that up online 😊
