Hello Karl, thanks for all your informative videos. This is about the 491 visa and its waiting time to be granted. After spending years living and working in regional Australia you get the invite for 491 and it takes at least 2 years of wait to be granted. Then another 3 “financial years” from the date of grant to be eligible to apply for 191. My concern is why do they give a PR pathway to 482 visa holders in 2 years and 186 in 3 years and not give the ones serving regional Australia a better and a convenient pathway to PR. At least consider the time you’ve spent working and living in regional Australia from the time you apply or bring down the processing time or bring down the time to be eligible for 191. Living regional is always not the same as living in metro. Pay rates are low, less job opportunities but expenses are the same as metro areas I believe including renting, prices of essential goods etc. What is your concern about this. Would appreciate to hear your opinion on this. Thank you

Move to Tasmania, min points to apply 65. For 190. 2000. Allocation for this financial year. Melbourne is just for sponsor and partner visa. Good luck.

the issue of those students is simple there are elections and the government needs to appear tough,the best would have been to approach the courts and the current ban on those students will be suspended pending the court outcome,because its discrimination against onshore students

Impressive content Karl, well done to the team! I wonder if they keep yoga instructor and remove software engineers as they were not confident in core skills list😂 they didnt update it right? Very good point you made on transparency on visa processing, they dont process some 186 visa apps more than 14 month and process some of them in 5 months in metro for the same occupations. If the application is prioritised it can be processed even in 3 months, so it looks like they intentionally dont process some of them. And they didnt announce anything if they prioritise onshore single or high english scores etc

Thanks for the feedback! yes transparancy it virually non existent in real time, with data slowly dribbling out months afterwards. I would not read into the undecided list that was released before, lets see how it pans out for there is not much we can do anyway

I took my English exam on the same day I lodged my 485 visa application (6th June 24) following the statement from home affairs that said "12 months immediately before submitting your application". However, case officer rejected the application mentioning that the "English exam must have been undertaken within three years before the day on which the application was made". What do you think about this? seems unfair to me they are using a previous statement I was not able to access at the momento of lodging my application.

Too much late. They Victorian students sponsored already their old parents. The students and their old parents now in charity. There are a lot Chinese in charity than other nationality. Go in city which nationality are more there, not india ,all Chinese. Chinese are everywhere especially in charity places like Salvo. Good we help and feed them. Thanks❤❤❤❤

Hi Karl, for SA 190 , should we be employed by a SA employer for 1 year in SA or does remote work count as well (skilled) ? If its it’s under 1 year , but if someone has more than 5 years of skilled foreign experience, will they be consider under offshore category till they have 1 year working experience in SA ?

Section 48 applies to you no doubt, but book a time to discuss if you are not sure but the answer will probably be no you cannot apply for 482 while you are in Australia.

Well, UK has used Australia’s cruelty towards international students to hurt Australia’s education sector even more. And I can’t believe government still doesn’t know why Chinese students tend to study in top universities such as USYD and UNSW. Chinese care about uni rankings more than higher prospect of permanent residency. In fact, most will return to China after graduation. One has to wonder why government don’t pour more resources to study Chinese students more, given their proportion. Instead, they believe they can unilaterally push Chinese students to study in lower rank universities in regional areas. Good try.

International students are an import and Alan Kohler pointed this out a few days ago, the data points international students work in Australia to pay for studies with overseas remittances largely being greater than inward remittances. Another issue with uncapped 0:01 international students is the massive debts the state of VIC has incurred, this uncapped international student intake is certainly not self funding road/rail/hospitals. The only real beneficiaries of international education are universities and to a smaller degree hospitality/retail zombie firms who want to pay cash in hand or unpaid overtime. Australia has just way too many international students as a proportion of population and numbers should be between 50,000 - 100,000.

Hi Karl, Thanks for the invaluable video's done every week, I am so depressed I applied for my 491 visa in Dec 2022 and yet to receive a grant even after receiving 3 S56 requests. By when they will grant my VISA as many of my friends who applied for their visa in April 2023 did receive their grants already!!! Tc . Warren

There must be a better balance between immigrants and citizens' opportunities. In Australia at present, the rental crisis and unemployment rates indicate current immigration is not balanced.

1) Unemployment rate is at 4% which is tremendously low, almost full employment. There's jobs everywhere. 2) a) International students live mostly in sharehouses and student accommodations, not the rentals normally citizens would access to. It's simply not true that int'l students are the ones to blame for the soaring prices on rents. 2) b) The RBA interest rates increase is making home loans more expensive than usual causing more aussies and pr heading to the rental market, thus, increasing demand for rentals, thus pushing the prices up. 3) A lot of int'l students had either their courses deferred or cancelled during pandemics and a lot of those "700.000" int'l students are actually being counted twice (yes, seriously) as during the borders closure they left to their home countries and return after borders reopening. The actual number of int'l students is far less. In conclusion, all this nonsense measures are just a scapegoat for politicians to empathize with the usual racist narrative that blames immigrants for the whatever bad thing is going on in the country.

You're lucky you live in Australia and yes either way I do believe there should be enough housing for everyone. The thing is, migrants are not causing the rental crisis, read my first arguments and feel free to fact check them

Currently May 2023 190 non priority lodged people all are waiting. Processing timed at 90% is at 24 months, however we do see grants being given at 16 months for most cases. Yes there might be differences case by case, but can May 2023 cases expect grants soon, or will there be a further increase on processing times?

Visa processing is always on a case-by-case basis so I would not trust guideline much. But what I get from other sources (non-English language) the overall progress is still in April 2023 batch, with some May 2023 ones getting sporadic grants.

@@RupakSubedi-l6x visa assessment is always a case by case matter. That figure you see is just a snapshot of a group of visa applications being processed in that month, their relevant waiting time. In a sense, when you see higher numbers, that probably means DOHA is processing older cases. Low number similarly, probably means they didn’t process older cases at all.

What will happen to the people who are on 482 and their occupations are removed for the core list? Will they still be able to apply for 186? I am really sick of this. I am WA graduate with 85 and 90 points but because I am not on the priority list I was not invited. This is so tiring.
