@@benedictearlson9044 really the audio of these artillery shells are more impressive than what is seen. Very impressive and LOUD report if you are at a recreation area waiting for them to open up certain more snow laden runs, like the backside at stevens pass. Opens up the untracked narly pow so you can safely ride the best conditions available! 👍 So awesome!!
@@OKuusava Or perhaps waking up at 5 am to howitzers lobbing rounds across the valley to the top of Alta to trigger avalanches from the overnight snowfall when I was 17 spoiled me a little.
@@OKuusava True. The scenery is gorgeous. And the avalanches were Ok. But the title creates an expectation that never fully materializes. I watched the video differently the second time and was able to better appreciate the spectacular views. The first time I kept waiting for a massive explosion and half the mountain to come down. Ha!
Beautiful mountains, disappointing explosions & avalanches. Are the avalanches supposed to be this small, or bigger? Does it even do any good for the amount of litter left by the bombs?
Playing with explosives = dangerous ...In a helicopter = even more dangerous ...thats flying around near mountains = super dangerous ...and playing with a knife = yeah okay, why not?
Nice vid! I don't know why it has so many dislikes D: Seeing the knife held with the point up near the guy who was waving his arms around to drop bombs was a bit unnerving though...
They were there, im just guessing here, but I imagine that's a fairly well groomed ski park of some sort. So they do this pretty frequently, so you wouldn't get big avalanches. Because they keep knocking it lose before it can build up and do real damage when it breaks loose . But yeah, I was disappointed too.
Hey Lollo Riva, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) 🙂 Cheers, Felix
can't believe that the guy is just lowering the 'bom' and waving with a swiss knife is the professional avalange team...There shoot be way faster and safer methods for this in 2018. A snowzooka or something...
Jelmer ten Hoeve 1. You didn’t start with a capital C 2. Your grammar is trash 3. It’s not bom it’s bomb 4. It’s not avalange it’s *Avalanche 5. It’s not shoot it’s should 6. How is this not safe
Ballistic artillery might not have the precision that’s apparently needed here, and the charge being deployed looks rather larger than the explosive load of typical field artillery shells (105-155 mm).
You probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my brother lately xD
Completely unnecessary and devastating mountains.. It is only because of a few individuals who stuff themselves where they don't belong, just chasing a few photos, or proving that they were somewhere else than the others... Mountains were and always will be dangerous and that is why our ancestors learned to live in near them not on them!!!
I think detonations will weaken many big rocks, after many detonations. These huge rocks will eventually fall to the bottom of the mountain. Humans need to innovate softer methods to deal with avalanches.
5:50 exactly. Top of ridge, centre of screen. Blast plus avalanche. Why accuse someone of clickbait, particularly when it's so obvious you didn't watch the entire video ?
