This is going to smash the box office like a bug. It doesn’t matter what people think of the story, they will come for the visuals. Personally, I don’t give a crap about the story, at this point, it’s really hard to be a screenwriter and create a completely original story that isn’t based subconsciously on something else, or has elements that remind people of other movies. We are comparative by nature of course we are going to look at something original and find patterns and connect it to something else we’ve seen before. But this movie in particular gets it more than any other movie because it stands out visually so much. We are so used to having non stop action and slapstick humor in our movies that it’s become our culture, when Avatar came out, it was a different time. People were more into what Cameron was selling because cg like that had never been done like that before, ever, it was not at all about the story, the plot served as a bonus. Now, we’ve used cg so much that our standards are lowered and no one is impressed. It’s funny how things have flipped over time, and a bit sad. Honestly I can’t wait. Avatar is one of my all time favorite movies and after the long wait I’m ready for something that will go beyond cinematic storytelling. I’m ready to enter a completely different realm. As for what I’m excited to see, I am most excited to see the teased main concepts all fit nicely together to form a great story. I’m excited to see the Sully children and learn about their challenges- how they adjust to moving into new territory, and interact with the new clan. From the looks of it, it starts off pretty rough with some racism. Lo’ak is not having a fun time. I’m excited to see where Kiri’s story will lead. Being so in tune with Eywa- more so than anyone around her( even Mo’at I suspect), it’s looking like she may develop into a tashik of the unique sort. It’ll probably play a huge role in how they defeat the humans in this movie. I’m also curious to see how they explain her connection to Grace as well. Cameron says that she was born from Grace’s brain dead Avatar, knowing that would be technically impossible, the possibilities of explanation are endless. I want to know more about Spider. Jake’s adopted human son ( from the teaser). I know he as well will heavily impact the plot and the relationship between Jake and Neytiri ( as jn I think having him around creates a rift between them, and provides for a very compelling conflict). I’m excited to see Quaritch, our villian from the last movie returning as an Avatar. Pretty interesting route to go, he saw the Navi as animals and savages, him coming back as one is definitely going to bring some much needed depth to his character. Finally.. I’m just so excited to see and to learn more about the world in general. There’s so much established lore out there and we’ll get more of it in this movie. And even better, a whole new tribe. One that looks different and lives differently and has clearly defined customs that are different from the Omitikaya, even different religious beliefs ( well, maybe, I’m sure they still share a common belief in Eywa anyway). A fictional world has never felt so real to me as this does. 😄

I’m never gonna doubt James Cameron I think the movie is gonna be great as his sequels are better than the first

Oh, of course this is gonna rule the box office. Other studios are already moving their releases out of that weekend. They don't even wanna try to compete. It's freakin James Cameron!! The most meticulous, demanding, talented perfectionist out there. It's why it takes a decade for him to do a movie. He made Kate Winslet train to hold her breath for 7 MINUTES for this movie. 7 MINUTES!! UNDERWATER! I'm stoked for their re-teaming but I can't believe he talked her into another 'water' movie. Sounds like he tried to straight up drown 'Rose' for this movie. Reunite her with 'Jack'.
