It's less surprising when you consider that 20 year old A7X conjured Warmness on the Soul, and slapped that piano ballad on a hardpunk metalcore record back in 2001. The world was never ready for what the boys had in store. 🖤

This album is so different but it works. Totally worth the seven year wait. This is very special

This song is a menagerie of profound instrumentation. Never would I have expected this out of Avenged Sevenfold as a long time fan, and still I am blown away.

It's just pure genius this song, both lyrics and music. No wonder why this had to take this much time, they were working their asses off.

Why is this song so incredible? It took me like 25 listens to understand what this song is about, and it just makes it more insane. Goated record. Wow.

Brilliant how this song portrays suicide in such a beautiful and majestic tone, and then quickly turn it around to show the true disturbing reality of it.

On the list of things I imagined Avenged would ever do, jazz in the exact style of 1930's Christmas songs would have never occurred to me in a million years... incredibly well done! It's amazing how it still integrates with everything else and doesn't feel out of place, as if it's a form of time travel... given the title and point of the song I can also see why that is.

There's so much surrender, resignation, tenderness and sweet sadness about this song. The theme with the guitars is one of the most bombastic giantic shocking sounds u can ever get from this instrument. S2

I was 15, 16-ish when The Stage came out. And now that I’m 22, it was worth the wait. This whole album is beautiful, emotional, and amazing. Thank you, to every single one of you including Jimmy. It’s been a wonderful journey growing with you guys, I can’t wait to see what you all do in future.

Out of all the crazy genres on this album, this one is the one I'd love to hear a full album of. Similar to the section in Game Over. A jazz/metal hybrid album would be amazing. And they have the talent to pull it off.

My brother passed away a couple weeks ago. We grew up together and I always looked up to him. He introduced me to A7X 20 years ago, theyve become my favorite band for those years and even though i never knew if he loved them as much as me, i love this band because of him. For A7X to make this song and for it to make me feel how it does now.. It makes me think of him. How now he's flying beyond everything we could ever imagine, feeling more alive than ever before.. Thank you Avenged Sevenfold for being the greatest band ever and for always reaching me where im at. I never knew how it felt to lose a brother and now that hes gone, the songs you made for/to honor Jimmy help me through the pain. So just thank you for sharing that, it brings comfort knowing im not alone. When i start breaking down, you guys' music helps me carry on, from Sounding the Seventh to Life is But A Dream.. Speaking as someone who actively avoided Avenged Sevenfold for many years, unfairly lumping them in with other bro metal bands that came and went in the early 2010s... this album is a masterpiece and this song is such a beautifully dark way of ending this bizarre dream we call "life." Absolutely incredible work from the whole band! With this album, Avenged Sevenfold has officially become the band I'm most interested in seeing what's next. I'm so here for this 🤘

I have been listening to A7X since junior high school, 15 years ago. I can't help but be amazed that they can produce songs like this now. I am so deeply moved that it brings tears to my eyes. It is so beautiful that I want to listen to it forever.

This is a band that is doing whatever the fuck they want… and I LOVE IT!

This entire album has me expecting a compilation album in a few years where you take most of your huge hits and recompose them to a full symphony orchestra. Serj Tankian did this with Elect the Dead and I'd totally be for this idea. Imagine Nightmare, A Little Piece of Heaven, Brompton Cocktail, and Beast in the Harlot in this style. Shadows singing like Sinatra, the boys shredding the instrumentals, and then a full symphonia orchestra behind them filling in the space.

English is not my first language, I'm from Brazil, listening to this song again but this time reading the lyrics together got me desperate, this is DARK as hell, absolute horrifying and I love every second of it.

This is like if Matthew sang me such a hypnotic lullaby... In a dark situation in a hotel... Without the music .... I feel so cradled...

That mid chorus with the guitar swells and orchestra is something else.. and the fact that the music degrades and becomes irrational at the end perfectly describes this song's title. Life is beautiful, and then you are on your death bed, and it just fades. And the people around you deteriorate and become irrational. Then it all ends. Such a beautiful song❤

The true meaning behind these lyrics is so scary. Put a room back at its places (once you messed up with it because you’re so sad you can’t handle even your own room), to leave a letter hidden in the fire blaze (it’s a suicide note), jump to the serene darkness (when you just don’t have a going back point and accept it’s for your own relief you’re ending everything now), I’ve never felt so alive (when you realize what you really done, and now doesn’t matter if you regret it or not). Than the song finishes with an opressive trompet, as in your dreams, you fly away from this world you’re so sick off. This song crashes my heart every time I hear it, as dream of flying away

This is fantastic. I have not delved into the full album yet but this caught my ears and attention. Caught these guys live for just the 2nd time in my life. 1st time a few years ago in Orlando when they opened for Metallica but again recently at Rockville. Enjoyed watching them close the night out and hearing a few of these new songs live. Love this track so far though. Fun seeing them evolve and jump into new directions. I have been hooked since Chapter Four as a kid from way back when on Madden 2004.
