For as much as I love Donny fl... FINALLY someone has called them out on their mistake!! That adaptor doesn't do anything in terms of noise suppression. One other thing about that adaptor or even their suppressors is that they have no baffles on them... I bought a cheap baffle system on Ebay... lashed it up to my Tatsu and it really made my avenger as quiet as a mouse... and way more accurate. But way to go James!! I speak for everyone on here when I say keep up the good work!! P.S.- those haters are REALLY going to love you now because you just dumped hot coals on their heads!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've had some issues with other DonnyFL adapters on other air guns. They are not always plug and play. The thing is, they are a big name, and if you question them, they act like it's only your problem and not everyone else. I had my P-rod start shooting crooked when I installed their adapter. They swore the shroud was to blame. After installing a new shroud, it became obvious it wasn't the shroud. Some of their adapter require you to delete O-rings at the end as well. Like you say, it's about getting one of their moderators on the end of your gun.
Yep! I have had only one issue myself, I ordered the Fatboy 2.0 from them with the specific threading 1x20, they sent me the wrong thread cap but luckily sent me the right one...there's no contact info on the website and I ordered directly from them, had to fill out the typical contact form and hope they answered luckily they did
Well not to be negative but I did exactly the same modification and tested before and after with a decibelmeter and there was no change at all.🤔How do you explain that?
James I just got my adapter and the OEM holes are only 5/32”. Do I need to make them bigger like yours or drill the four holes the same size that came with mine? Also I’m new to pcp air guns and learning a lot from you. Keep up the good work.
Its definitly a differrence. I have added the Shogun suppressor on my av.22. I measured the noise without ammo in a closed room before and after mod. Without the mod its about 81db with mod its only 76db. And the high noise is gone. Its more dull.
A smaller drill bit and more holes will do the same while maintaining the strength integrity of your Al piece. Also if your shroud has baffles you can drill tiny holes thru them. And make a 7/32 hole at the end of the shroud tube closest to the receiver.
To each their own, but if more holes are added to the shroud, baffles, or adaptor then it wasn't done correctly or calculated right in the first place like I have done here...I don't have to cheat it by doing that, I just put the venting holes in the correct blasting area since I have studied the muzzle blast everyday for weeks when I created my own designs which is still quieter than the modified adapter and Donnyfl
@@ALLABOUTAIRGUNS James you are spot on with your analysis. The vent holes without the suppressor on are basically no longer in the volume of a cylinder (or shroud in this case). By placing the vent holes further down into the shroud then the volume of the shroud comes into play and reduces the air pressure and slows / brakes the air before exiting the muzzle. Its all about volume of a cylinder when suppressing air pressure (sound), incorporating a baffle system in the cylinder slows the air down even further. Great stuff!
Pitch of sound different. But is decibel level?.. hmm Yeah. Human ears may hear higher pitch and it sounds louder as a same sounding delve level lower pitch.
