BvS made me excited for the Wonder Woman movie because she was fantastic in this movie.

Zack Snyder is a first rate director when it comes to his aesthetic sensibilities. They guy knows how to make any scene look gorgeous, and every scene in Batman V Superman is dripping with beauty. His shooting of fight choreography is doubly impressive, and can even be considered a high art. With that said, I have to concur with critical consensus that he is sorely lacking, as a director, when it comes to telling a coherent well paced narrative, and he is lacking when it comes to character development. With that said, I have a sneaking suspicion, though I have no way of proving this, that much of the problem with Batman v Superman's story had more to do with Warner Bros meddling, than Zack Snyder's shortcomings as a director. Look at what he was asked to do: 1. Introduce Batman in this universe, and change him from the way we are used to seeing him, and do it all in a brief opening credit synopsis. 2. Show the audience why Bruce Wayne is so enraged at Superman 3. Show both characters fight. 4. Introduce Lex Luthor and his motivations 5. Introduce Wonder Woman in a way that she is relevant to the plot 6. Make the audience aware of the existence of other future Justice League members. 7. Make Lois Lane, with everything else that is going on in this film, relevant to the story. 8. Illustrate how the world has become polarized when dealing with Superman's godlike powers. 9. Have Superman and Batman reconcile, and then have Wonder Woman fight Doomsday along side both of them. 10. Hint at the future plot Justice League by introducing Darkseid. 11. Oh yeah...while we are it, lets kill Superman as a homage to one of the most popular comic book issues in DC history. A single movie can handle maybe two or four of these things well. To ask for all 11, in one movie, is something no director would do unless forced by the studio, so as to hastily lay the ground work for an ensemble movie which should have been built over several standalone films. Zack Snyder is not known for crowding his films with so many elements. His other films, like 300, Man of Steel, and Watchmen were not this overcrowded. This has all the telltale markings of studio meddling, which compelled the director to do too much in one film.

I fucking *LOVED* this movie! I was so surprised because i went in with very low expectations after reading all the mixed/negative reviews, Ben Affleck was awesome as Batman and the fight scenes were incredible, the only flaw I would say is the fact that Batman killed people with no explanation other than that this is one of the best super hero movie's i've seen!

I just got home from watching this movie & I have to say I have no idea what everyone is so upset about. The movie was great. I cannot find anything wrong with the movie IMO. I personally had no problem with Lex Luthor either even tho he was the farthest away from how he is portrayed in the comics. I loved the fight scene, I loved Doomsday & had no problem with how he was created, I had no problem with how they incorporated the rest of Justice League, the movie was just great. The best thing to me is it sets up the next films perfectly. It sets up Wonder Woman film, the next Batman film, & the next Superman film which you know is going to be Superman Returns. IMO it's the second best comic movie ever only behind The Dark Knight & that's only because they didn't have a villain like The Joker. Marvel has nothing on this movie & I love Marvel's movies also. This movie has made me even more excited about the movie I still think is going to be the best of the year....Suicide Squad.....Can't wait!!!

I really enjoyed the movie, I mean sure it had flaws, but as a movie experience it was somewhere along the lines of 7.5-8-5. All the actors were great and the action was super cool and of course most importantly....Jason Momoa's Aquaman....my God...fucking hyped

I totally feel like they referenced Captain Marvel in Batman v Superman, I believe someone stated "We live in a world where men hurl lightning bolts" or something, maybe not a direct reference but.... Maybehhhh?

The 'Grannie's Peach Tea' scene was my favourite. Damn, Lex Luthor is psychotic

I just thought they played the Doomsday card too early. An iconic figure like that reduced to a plot device that looked like the troll from Lord of the Rings just to jump start the Justice League. Felt like a rush job and a very awkward pace to the film. Batman scenes were the only thing worth the price paid for the movie ticket.

I love batman but man I feel very bad for Henry cavil as he got outshined. I really wished they did man of steel 2 then made this movie, as superman would have got more character development.

It looks like Batman v Superman has left John a bit **puts on glasses** con-FLICK-ed!!! ...I'll just go, snap my own neck now...

I'm glad critics are really hard on BvS, I had no problems with the movie but bad reviews helps DC to make it even better next time. Can't wait for Justice League. Oh! And the Batman solo movies with Affleck directing it? It could finally surpass the Dark Knight.

About the other critics that are extremely hypocritical about this one, before you start saying its long and incoherent and stuff just happens, after watching the really good and solid batman vs superman, go watch the god awful ironman 2 and 3 , and Thor the dark world, and the long -2:30-- hours that did nothing but action sequences and setting up 25 future movies- movie known as age of ultron

What i loved about this review is that it remained unbiased. Others are like "the movie is fucking good" or "the movie fucking sucks". good job man

the problem with this movie is they tried to pull an age of ultron without the 7 years of previous work and expected a free pass.

I liked this version of Batman. He was more like the Punisher. He is sick of battling criminals. He wants to hurt them. If they live, he wants them to have scars. Yeah, liked it.

I loved the movie. It's awesome, don't give a damn about what those Critics say. this Batman makes Christian Bale look like a joke. The Critics better watch Alice in wonderland and kiss Nolan's picture. Such an awesome movie is not for idiot hardheads who so not understand a thing and speaks shit about this movie hearing some fools! Every detail in this movie is necessary and some people said it's boring, they better take a history class first. Please atleast watch it before making and stupid remarks simply by following some people who doesn't think straight.

I'm gonna get a lot of flak for this... But I LOVED Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. I feel like people are judging him too quickly like they do with Luke Skywalker in A New Hope. His character will grow over time into the Lex Luthor we know and love. Not only that, but this Lex is evil as hell (literally) and I feel that this isn't most evil live action Lex Luthor we've ever had (something happens in the movie. All I'm gonna say is wheelchair). I'm also pretty sure this isn't even THE Lex Luthor. In pretty sure this is Lex Luthor Jr. And Lex Luthor Sr. Died in Metropolis. Overall, I LOVED the movie aswell. I think the 3-hour movie will make the rushed feeling of this movie go away. 9/10

I think the main issue with the movie is that they were trying to catch up with MCU too quick, so they did a set up of what Marvel did in 5-6 movies in just a single one.

to me, the batman never kill thing anoyed me, he can chose the greater good, save others than himself, or save the crowd than robin, but when he has to get his hands dirty to save lives, where he doesnt just kill joker, which would preserve lives in the time to come. he did good not for the sake of it being good, he did it cause it effected his conscience, abit like how some people give to charity out of guilt, not because they want to help.

In many ways imo this is a Good to Solid film, that gets a lot of hate for not being a GREAT film. Though I thought it was a Great film personally. My best friend put it into an interesting perspective "You go into The Incredible Hulk(Norton), Expecting "The Avengers", and you get The Incredible Hulk.". However one thing I notice is that if you hate this film with all your soul, you have some DC people call you a fanboy. However if you defend this movie and actually enjoyed it, you have some Marvel people call you a fanboy. But the other thing is if this movie even gets a C or a B or an "average" Rating, you have a lot of people jumping on it going "OMG SEE SEE SEE! FAILURE FAILURE!!! ITS GONNA BOMB HAHA!!!" no.... it means the movie was average to good in their mind. The reason though that some people like to jump on someone saying the movie was "ok" or "standard" is because Batman v Superman was expected to be GREAT. While in the eyes of some it may not be GREAT that also does not make it a BAD film. The general consensus when it comes to complaints was that it will get you excited for the DCEU but enough either wasn't explained or gone into detail enough. While I enjoy the film, something tells me that when that 3 Hour R - Rated Director's Cut is released some of these famous youtubers will review it and perhaps talk about how much more got explained or how much more they enjoyed the R-Rated Cut as opposed to the PG-13 Cut. If that happens, it could mean good news and bad news. The Bad News is that studios DO listen to this kind of thing, but they likely won't make any of the Justice League Movies or these already announced DC Movies to come an R Rated one. But the Good News is, that the solo Batman movie directed by Affleck and Written by Terrio, may be an R-Rated one. As well as the sequel to Suicide Squad depending upon that response to the R-Rated Directors Cut of BvS. And imagining an R-Rated Solo Batman film with Affleck as the lead is enough to make fans salivate and continue to enjoy what's possibly to come. Movies / stories like Under The Red Hood and Hush under an R Rated label suddenly become possibilities. But we all won't know till we see the 3 hour cut of the film. A good review though theFLICKpick! He is one of the few reviewers that went in wanting the movie to be great, but has no problem saying it's good, and he doesn't punish the movie for that, he punishes it for what he thinks they could have expanded on, not because it wasn't "Great" in his eyes. Fantastic review. You were certainly more generous than I with the grade, but the way you break everything down is great. I wish more fans reviewed these films like this, rather than exaggerating about the movies being the "greatest of all time" or the "worst ever."

I give Batman vs. Superman a B+ or A-. I plan on seeing it a second time definitely, then I will be able to decide better on the grading. What I didn't like about the film is that it got choppy in some parts and Jesse Eisenberg got a little irritating sometimes. I love Ben Affleck as Batman he's probably the best Batman I've seen on screen yet. Henry Cavill is the best Superman and I seen on screen yet. I had my doubts about Gal Gadot, but for what I saw she did pretty good. I especially like her when she started to fight and they were playing her theme music. The theme music that they chose for Wonder Woman makes the action scenes with her in them even that more intense. I think Wonder Woman has the best theme music out of the three main Super heroes. I definitely see this movie at least one to two more times. and it's a definite Blu-ray purchase because I really like the movie and I have to see those deleted scenes.

The wife and I have seen it 2. The first time I watched it I was so wrapped up in the movie its self that had overlooked the Jokeresque Lex Luthor, and plot wholes as to how on the same night lex magically knew Batman wanted to fight superman. However being a huge DC fan I really enjoyed it.
