"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor" is the original enchantment in the comics. means cap should be able to control storms like Thor too. at least it was like that for the lady Jane. but it is slightly different in the movies also Stormbreaker was originally Beta Ray Bills replica Mjolnir but yeah no spells on Stormbreaker, just master Eitris blacksmithing talents

Also, Hulk did not reverse time when he snapped. If Infinity War took place in 2018, then the present year in Endgame is 2023. He brought back everyone who had turned to dust in 2018. So for all those people who returned, it appears to them as if they instantly skipped over those five years. That also means that all those returned people didn't age five years older.

There was no end-credits scene because they wanted the movie to feel like a real ending and not just existing to set up some future movie, which has been a criticism levied against some of the less consequential MCU movies up to that point.
@jawbone78

And has never been more true than in literally every MCU thing since this. It's just all setup now, in some cases for stuff that they're never going to pay off because it was so awful they're cancelling threads left and right. It's like they completely forgot what made the pre-Infinity War movies so successful (hint: it wasn't the setups and crossovers and references).
@PhilBagels
@PhilBagels 19 дней назад
@@jawbone78 Yep. And even in "MCU-adjacent" movies. The second Venom movie (Something something something Carnage) was utterly pointless, and only existed for the post-credit scene, which turned out to be nothing more than a set-up for another post-credit scene. And supposedly that's a set-up for something else that hasn't happened yet, and might not ever.

The irony of the line "No amount of money ever bought a second of time" coming from a man who used his wealth to create a time machine to tell his deceased father the same advice his father told him. Also basically a causal loop. And no, Nebula did not know about Red Skull and the "everlasting exchange" to acquire the Soul Stone. All she knew was that Thanos and Gamora went to Vormir to get the stone and only Thanos came back. She wasn't there on Vormir to learn what really happened. She likely assumed that Gamora fought Thanos to try preventing him from getting the stone and died in battle. So Nebula couldn't warn Clint and Nat that one of them needed to die because she simply did not know.

If it helps ease the mind, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans had a long term contract starting with their individual first movies, running up for a fixed number of movies, which Endgame was the last, and they both decided not to extend their offered contracts. This had been public information before Endgame came out, so many fans predicted that one or both of their characters would be killed off. So they DID choose this, and I can't think of a better way to send off our two most central Avengers. Tony saved the universe by sacrificing himself, and Steve got to go back in time and live the life with Peggy that was taken from him initially. It was a great great movie. The portals scene is my favorite movie scene in all of cinema history. Endgame really was the pinnacle of the greatness of the MCU. Great reaction. Enjoyed!

Nebula didn't know specifically that the Soul Stone required a sacrifice, just that Gamora died there. Branching timelines.... welcome to the beginning of the multiverse. For me, Thanos and Zemo are the two best Marvel villains. Both have motivations that, while misguided, are understandable. I like that you caught some of the callbacks. One subtle one that is my favorite is between Tony and Peter Parker. In every other movie and up until the end of this movie, Peter always called Tony "Mr. Stark." After Tony has done the snap and is dying, one of the last things Peter says to him is "Tony." He also apologizes (just as he did when he dusted in Infinity War) for failing, because Peter always takes on all the responsibility even when it isn't all his to take.

Think back to "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" when Steve visits Peggy. She says "you came back". Everyone thought that was a sign of dementia. Now, we know that it wasn't dementia at all. It was Peggy telling Steve that he would come back to her, without actually telling him that it was a decision he would make in the future.
@PhilBagels
@PhilBagels 19 дней назад
Which raises the question of what "Future Steve" was doing all that time he was with Peggy, while "Past Steve" was still frozen in the ice, and eventually revived to resume being Captain America. Presumably, he had to keep his existence completely secret. I suppose he could have done some "undercover" superhero work, at least during the 50's and 60's, and maybe even through the 90's or so, depending on how slowly he ages with the super-soldier serum in him. And then, during the events of the MCU movies, he was just an old guy married to old Peggy, but still keeping the secret that he was really THE Steve Rogers. Peggy mentions being married, saying that Cap was responsible for her meeting the man who would eventually become her husband, but no one ever tracks down who that is. Turns out it was Steve the whole time, but they couldn't let that be publicly known so as not to mess up the time line.

Also, while this is the last Avengers released, future Avengers with new members will be released. But, ya know, the whole self sacrifice thing because "drama."

@@soramirez5473 Sure. But it wouldn't undo the snap's effect. The effect of Tony's snap would have still happened - Thanos and troops gone, and rewinding only Tony(like Thanos did with Vision), would only effect Tony, and could be done before Tony snaps, which would bring previously dead Tony to minutes post Tony's death.
@SublimelyGreen
@SublimelyGreen 18 дней назад
@@tomhardy2099 First, that is not explicitly stated as a limitation within the MCU. Second, semantics - it's not the Infinity Gauntlet, it's Tony's Nanobots/suit. Third, while a Russo has noted that Infinity damage cannot be undone, his intentions are not clearly stated IN the MCU. He could say anything,"Tony and Spidey were seccretly bumpin' uglies, now you all have to accept that." Trying to change something in-universe from out-universe after the fact it has been released is an,"Oopsie, I need a reason to fix this plot hole, the sad ending to stay sad, and end the character because this actor's contract is up." Lastly, Infinity damage has been proven, within the MCU, to not be permanent. While the various TV series are not films("cinematic"), they take place within the MCU and are cannon. In She-Hulk, which has been proven to take place after Endgame, Smart Hulk is fine and has no "permanent" Infinity damage, thus negating the out-universe retroactive retcon attempt, and sealing in-universe cannon that Infinity damage is not permanent.

So Jarvis ended up helping the other Avengers who lived there with any mundane concerns. In the MCU Jarvis was the Chauffeur and Butler for Howard and Maria. Tony named his A.I. To answer your questions on "how the glove works". The infinity stones when put together can literally do anything the user wants. Its only weakness is it only works in the universe it was created in. In the movies it puts a lot of stress on the user but in the comics it doesnt have any negative effects on the user. the only person who is more powerful than the infinity stones is "the one above all" who is essentially god in the marvel universe. The stones have no effect on him and he is more powerful than them in raw power. He doesn't really intervene at all but he can stop anything

The travel they did wasn't really to the past but to a parallel universe that was in a different time period.(That's what Hulk tried to explain Scott,and that's why Thanos dying in their present, and anything they did in there doesn't really affected anything.) The mjolnir reads if the person who tries to pick it up is having selfless thoughts and a strong will AT THE MOMENT OF TRYING, that's why Steve was able this time. (There's actually plenty of characters including Tony who has used the hammer at some point...) About this feeling like the end of something... The MCU definitely works using a big story with three different acts. (those were the three first phases) This didn't had post credits because it was literally the end of the third act in the 'Infinty saga'... From here forward,the MCU starts a different saga, starting by the 1st act again. (phase 4) Where the focus it's in introducing the future characters and backgrounds. There's definitely mixed opinions, and a very divided fan base, and that's for many "reasons" but mostly it's: People expecting the next projects to have huge events that can compare to an avenger movie,complaining about the pace slowing down,asking all the time about the avengers, complaining about female protagonists.(Even if there's still a lot of males too) People complaining also about the MCU expanding into different cultures, complaining that the stories doesn't go like in the comics. (which it never did in the entire MCU) Others complaining that each project had a different vibe (Even if that's accurate to each comic),and of course, those calling everything that ain't cliché 'Woke'... Basically a lot of people trashed a lot of projects that in the end of the day,are not actually bad. (The things of Fat Thor and Smart Hulk that Tristan said he loved it,are already 2 of the things people hated already at this point...) Meanwhile,others actually enjoyed those projects as what they are and want to see more of it...

It took 10 years and 23 movies to pay off in Endgame. Now marvel is introducing a lot of new characters and laying seeds for a new epic. Also a lot of fans are disappointed because the single character movies aren't as epic as Infinity War and Endgame. I have confidence that they will be able to weave a great epic out of these new beginnings. We just need to be patient.

There are so many fantastic moments to still look forward to. Wandavision is in my opinion possibly the best thing Marvel Studios ever produced. Spider-Man No Way Home, Guardians 3, Black Panther Wakanda Forever, Loki, Falcon & Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Daredevil. So so many moments still to come. Endgame is absolutely the end of an era, the Infinity Saga, but it's by no means the end of greatness.

The long and short of it is that any changes made in the Past (With one exception) makes a branch reality. Loki taking the Tesseract, Branch reality. (Loki _does_ get into this) There is now also a branch reality without a Thanos. Now, a few people do get confused wirh this part, but Cap and the Pym Particles do _not_ create a branch reality. This is because they created a Stable Time Loop. You can't _change_ history if you're already apart of history. Meaning Cap _always_ married Peggy in the MCU Timeline, and Cap _always_ stole the Pym Particles (Making Hank have an issue with Howard).
@MattPerk7

Tony, Natasha, Cap, and Vision are all gone. This timeline's version of Loki and Gamora both died as well, but the other Gamora is somewhere on our timeline, and the other Loki is somewhere, doing something. While it is technically not a "scene" in the proper sense of the word, I would encourage you to go back and play the very end of the credits and listen for a special Easter egg.

Great reaction you two! 😊 I was going to wait until later this evening to watch this. But I've been looking forward to this reaction so much! I've spent the last two days binge watching the rest of your Marvel reactions. And love them! RIP to Natasha Romanoff and then to Tony Stark for their ultimate sacrifices in order to save the world. They're the true MVP's of this movie along with the rat that brought back Scott Lang. Because without Scott they never would've thought of the time travel idea. 7:36 This was Stan Lee's final cameo appearance. And in case that either of you didn't recognize the kid standing behind Wanda, Sam, and Bucky at Tony's funeral. That was Harley Keener, the kid from "Iron Man 3". 33:28 Tristan asked about Gamora. There's a deleted scene that takes place after Tony's snap confirming that Gamora survived the snap and just walked off the battlefield. So, she's still out there. And up next is the conclusion of Phase 3 with "Spider-Man:Far From Home". After "Spider-Man: Far From Home" I hope that you two will continue on with Phase 4 of the MCU. If you do, be sure to watch the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy and the two Andrew Garfield "Amazing Spider-Man" movies. Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊

I think you should keep going. Whether you decide to record a reaction to each one could be up for debate, but I think there is still a lot of rich storytelling happening in Phase 4 and 5 and I think where they are going is encouraging. I know I'm in the minority, but the weakest entries in these phases I would personally score only as low as a 7 out of 10, they are still good entertaining films and disney+ shows with cool new character introductions. Most of them I would score at an 8 or 9 out of 10.

If you are physically and mentally strong enough to wield the Infinity Gauntlet, you are god-like. Your mind controls the Stones, and they will do ANYTHING that you want. You control virtually every aspect of the Universe. You can pick and choose whom you want to save/destroy, you can rearrange the Universe.....anything.

Time travel in marvel is more of a multiple timeline multiverse time travel. Creating alternate streams and new branches rather than “changing the past”. So nothing really changes except the path of the timeline that was changed

Tony and Nat are 2 prime examples of the price of freedom. They both chose death for the sake of others. Whereas, Steve chose life (Steve: "I think we both need to get a life". Nat: "You first".). As hard as it was to watch, they tied everything up quite profoundly, if not perfectly.

Regarding reaching this peak in Marvel movies, here are my thoughts. Everyone here loves Marvel; Old Marvel, MCU Marvel; There is a lot, and I think most Marvel reaction watchers will check out any of Marvels backlog, so don't feel pressured. Sure, some of the movies later might not all be as great, but its in seeing your reaction to those good and bad moments that do it for us. Considering where you are in the MCU, you are nearing the end of Phase 3, with the next movie Spider-Man: Far From Home concluding it. Phases 1-3 have since been labeled the "Infinity Saga", and, without getting into any spoilers, I will say Phases 4-6 have been labeled the "Multiverse Saga". So my thoughts are; after watching Spider-Man FFH, put a pause on the MCU movies and go back and re/watch the other Marvel series. Watch the older Spider-Man movies. Watch the X-men Series. Watch the 2000s Fantastic Four movies. Heck, I'd go as far to say watch Ghost Rider and Daredevil/Elektra movies too. You could just watch one series at a time, but if you want a more MCU "jumping between plot threads as the movies released" feeling, this is my preferred watch order for the legacy Marvel movies: 1 Blade (Cool for the time; 90s cringe, could skip) 2 X-Men 3 Spider-Man 4 Blade II 5 Daredevil (Funny bad) 6 X2: X-Men United 7 The Punisher 8 Spider-Man 2 9 Blade: Trinity 10 Fantastic Four (Marvel's first family) 11 X-Men: Last Stand 12 Elektra (Daredevil Sequel; boring bad) 13 Spider-Man 3 14 X-Men Origins: Wolverine 15 Ghost Rider (Funny bad staring classic Nic Cage) 16 Fanastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer 17 X-Men: First Class 18 Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance (Crazy bad with crazy Nic Cage) 19 The Wolverine 20 X-Men: Days of Future Past (Watch before starting MCU Phase 4 if possible?) 21 Punisher: War Zone (Reboot/Not a sequel) 22 Amazing Spider-Man 23 Deadpool 24 Amazing Spider-Man 2 25 X-Men: Apocalypse 26 Fant4stic (Corproate bad) 27 New Mutants 28 Logan 29 Deadpool 2 30 Venom 31 X-Men: Dark Phoenix -This is where we would cut back to the main MCU - 32 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Watch After What If) 33 Venom: Let There Be Carnage (Watch before Spider-Man: No Way Home) 34 Morbius (Total meme of a movie. Watch after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Can skip, but maybe watch for the laughs?) 35 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (After Dr. Strange 2) 36 Madame Web (BAD. After What If Season 2) Again, this is my own preferred order. It's based more off of when the movie were released, but shifted around so you are not watching the same series too often in a row. There are a few shifted that were are focused on maintaining my "headcannon" continuity between series and studios, but it would not reflect onto your viewing experience. Essentially, this is everything and anything that could be pulled for a joke in the upcoming next Marvel mega-crossover. Oh, and watch Netflix Daredevil, at least one season is possible :P

this was tough, since it was the end of RDJ, Chris Evans and Scarjo's contracts with Marvel. Going into the theater we expected those three characters would have to be retired somehow. It didn't make it any easier though. I enjoyed all the callbacks in the film. Hope calling Steve, "Cap", Black Panther actually caring about Hawkeye's name (after their exchange in Civil War) and Bucky knowing that Steve wasn't coming back (that's why when Bruce and Sam are freaking out, Bucky just nods his head). I know a lot of people felt that Marvel should have rebooted things after this, but I've enjoyed most of what comes after...with a few exceptions. This movie was a perfect end to the first major arc of the MCU.
