Thank you for the review Nick. Just started watching it, so I haven't seen it just yet. BUT, i'm just really happy to not be hearing about the damn DJI FPV drone!

I have the bigger brother to these motors 2004/3150 BH and they have been solid motors, efficient, powerful, tough! Now let's talk about Avant quads & my love for some of there frames which I like that style of frame somewhat of a stretched X but not! With the right components it's a blast to fly! And will turn on a dime! I also own two of those Aio 420 boards which are solid boards and they do have a Emuflight target for these boards. But I'm sure Avant has put a decent BF tune on the quad given it's a BNF. Avants attention to detail is second to none. No company I know fixes the RX antenna mount like that. My friend bought two Avant quads and I ended up with them. And I probably have sold 40/50 quads and I still have the two Avant quads builds. If they are building a HD version of this quad. I'll probably be buying one. Highly recommend these quads and frames! IN ADVANCE SORRY I JUST CANT FIND ANYTHING TO BE CRITICAL ABOUT AVANT QUADS. SORRY🤐

I bought the Ciro 4 inch from them. Its honestly a pretty cool bespoke machine. You order it how you want extra parts, rx type etc. Really like the 3d prints that it came with. I bought 1 each extra arms have yet to use them. I recall the shipping being pretty fast too. Highly recommend.

I started flying my 5inch Emax hawk quads In very small spaces, I think you could easily fly one in your back yard mate as I fly in smaller areas. But honestly it's not worth it in your situation as they are so loud and "dangerous" I guess, I just do it due to not having any micros except for whoops and my open prop nanohawk. Slowly my fleet of 2-3inch quads died and didn't have $to fix them, 5inch is so cheap and durable compared to micros so here I am now.

Your just modest, and that's why we like you and your reviews. Very nice quad, looks like it would hold up well in the race's.

It's definitely an interesting combo of everything to put on a 3". Light gemfan props, pretty big motors, a non-whoop AIO, a full sized RHCP antenna, and a SQUARE vtx. Looks like they hit a sweet spot here even with a "different" parts combination. They really put the extra touches when it comes to their quads, and it shows. Bl_M, RPMf, most recent version of the Betaflight firmware, as well as the vtx antenna, power lead solution, and receiver antenna mounting

Avant is great! I used their frames exclusively for a couple years and they hold up well. I strayed away from their frames about a year ago when I converted to DJI but I’m glad to see they’re coming out with frames and BNFs that are designed for the DJI FPV system.

Appreciate you openness about having a dump day but how ripping a few packs can reset the mind. I do the same thing and even after picking up my first 5" quad, I still find myself going back to these little quads. Never flown an AvantQuad. Think I need to pick one up!

I have not bought or even flown an Avant quad but from day one I have liked what they put out and what I have seen in the reviews I have watched.

My favorite RU-vid video in weeks! Refreshing to see a quad so simple & well engineered. It’s too big for me, so I hope they make a toothpick. Besides the great expertise and piloting skills, Nick’s relatable personality & wholesome family life make this a great channel. I really appreciated the relatable story about the therapeutic flight following a bad day at the office (those are the days I usually crash on my roof or slam into a tree).

Wow, Nick, that thing is an awesome build !!! And you are totally right, the details like the antennas etc. are rare in any RTF's. Gives me more confidence in a quad right away. I've had my share of lesser quality builds ( not mentioning any names, everyone knows them ). I'm in Canada, and on the site it warns to contact them if shipping to Canada. I sent them an email, to find out what the issue is. If there is a problem, I'll let you know, for you and all your Canadian viewers. If not, I'm getting one !! I've been looking for a new 3", I hope this is it. Thanks as always !!

so if you want critiques i'll try to stretch some. can be a tad lighter with less tpu, smaller antenna and 1404 motors. i like to see a bit more meat around the screw holes going through the arms. but this quad screams passion, there's no doubt

This is more than likely my next quad purchase! I want to step up from the 65-75mm category and I think this thing would be right in that fast freestyle zone that I want!

that's is that just it .. that quad is the one all round flier that has it all .. AVANT make great great quads there is no need to feel bad about putting them on the top shelf .. great machine .. And nick look after your self my friend

Always wanted an Avant for the arsenal. I had. I idea they recently released an HD version of the Ciro 3. Hopefully they send you one to try out soon!

The Avant Vanta was my first (and 2nd) micro when I first broke free of Tiny Hawks and before I started with 5” quads. It was a very stiff and durable frame but I was a noob and burned up a few motors and an ESC using turtle mode when I shouldn’t have. Avants BNF’s are very reasonably priced as well. My only complaint about the Vanta was, as a noob, the 16x16 flight stack was fiddle to work with. Great review as usual, Nick, thanks.

It's a cute bird, flies really good. Its built really nice. Being hyper critical, if your flying a park or your backyard, do you need that vtx antenna, the mount for it appears heavy. You could use a different antenna with ziptie/heat shrink mount, and get a little better overall performance. I had to dig hard for that, and I'm being hypercritical. 😆

Have you heard about the crux3 11000 kv 1s motors, happymodel is marketing them as a plug an play option if you want to fly it 1s. It be cool to see what it flies like with those.

If you can find them the ovonic 750mah 80c batteries are awesome,better than my gnb 850's

I have to say Avant really do some quality work, I like how they have the frsky mounted, and how clean they solder. They are a little pricey for me. For those motors i'd get a little steeper pitched props and let her eat some wind, and the 650mah is perfect for me, keeps me from that gettin bored and doin the (stu from mad tv) "Look what I can do" crash.

Ordered one based off this video (and my old 3” dyeing a slow death). Used your code but man $20 shipping kinda hurts. It would be awesome to see them get some distribution through RDQ or someone.

i take only Brotherhobby motors, they are really powerfull and really durables. i put B, T1 on 3 quads, and they take like many crashs and 3 quads!!! (with the same motors!) they are indestructible.) and you put a 5s or 6s whith throttle lkimitation, and GO! no more emax, no more racestars, no more no name motors. they are really great. and i keep this brand for ever! ;) :l)

I like those press nuts, but I worry about it coming loose and spinning, not that it would go anywhere.. this looks like a nice little build. But I'm still conflicted how more standardization hasn't happened yet. just mean VTX and RX just plugging straight into FC. either socket pin thing or just common plugs.. I do wish they used the antenna stem. but that look more basher friendly than max performance. it looks super clean though. not sure what else I'd get in that price range I see $345 for what I would order DJI + CRSF 3" Iflight Titan is $378 Geprc Run HD3 is $399 BETAFPV X-Knight 3" is $289... Lumenier QAV-CODERED 3" is interesting at $299

I like the flight footage. The wind was almost getting its way with the 3 inch quad. Little ones can get way crazy in the wind.

I've been out for several months now. Does this mean were finally done with Toothpick craze and back to circa 2017 with normal 3" "a la carbon fiber top plate. Jeez those stupid AIO boards cost me a mini fortune. Glad to see a more traditional 3".

Flies well. Not a fan of the props I’ve had better results with the hq 3x2.5x3 props. I’m actually interested in the brotherhobby 1504.5 motors. Would you recommend them on a light weight 4” quad ? Currently gathering parts to make a fast 4”. Thanks Nick

I have that flight controller on a Source Two Vista 5" build and they are suprisingly good, not sure what it'll be like in the Summer but it's been a hardy runner so far, I try not to turtle it though.

Reminds me a lot of my babyhawk r 3inch. It's just fun to fly

Looks solid. Comparable but beefier than the hornet from torque fpv. I’m interested to see how it handles with a vista and I wonder If the tiny trainer motors could handle its weight.

Props in view is a must for me... it tells me my angle of attack.. without them in view just doesn't work for me.... dji with props in view is rare... out of 20+ quads the xjb was always my preferred bird do to its size and flight performance.. tried getting vista on it but no go..... in short I've used code avant5nb... always thought avant looked nice but shipping could be a pain. Do you know anywhere else to get parts besides avant

The Avio looks really interesting. I bought their Ciro 3 inch freestyle (HD) and it is a blast to fly. Plus I bought a 5” frame from them and it has been solid quality.

Ok my question is... for just a Vista Cruiser... is 3" enough prop or should I go 4" feel like 3" is still analog, 4" vista... help me out as I trust your takes on this. I'm building an analog babytooth, and then I have 5" Vista. I want smallest lightest digital little ripper. is that digitooth? or is this right there?

Hi hello, I'm looking into a sub 250g freestyle quad. Ive seen that avantquad has got a new 3.5 much like the geprc smart. They also have a ciro 4 inch all of them for dji hd. What would you recomend? 3.5 or 4 inch they seem to have identical motors...the proppeller size is the key.... I would like to hear from your experience.! Thx a great channel Nick

I love avant quads but their prices definitely show their "quality".I've been flying a 10$ hglrc frame that honestly is too powerful for 2 years with zero frame issues. If I were a beginner I'd go for a cheaper build and just buy more batteries/parts with the money I saved.

Calgon was something women would throw in the tub to relax. I remember those commercials. lol Quad reminded me of my Tp3 was flying nice and I liked the camera.

Regarding @15:50 The active part of the Antenna for an XM+ is 23mm as its tuned for the receiver. for non tuned receivers a 1/4 wavelength of 2.4GHz is 31.23mm. The active part of an antenna will have no metal shielding around it so it can radiate or receive the appropriate wavelength.

Avantquad made some the best frame design for 5inch racing 3 years ago but they did not upgrade them very much since, now we dont see their products on race field anymore. It was a great frame very well thought out for the time but its not up to 2020 standard.

i would run 1505 on 4" i currently have 1103s and 3" in a toothpick with a 800mAh 3s which get's me 10min of flight time but this is not a toothpick type build and it probably needs a bit bigger motors because of the added weight it also gives it quicker throttle response that is personal preference

I actually have a tab opened in my Firefox browser with the DJI version of this quad waiting for me to decide if I want to have this be my very first digital FPV quad. V2 Goggles are out of stock, so not in a huge hurry. Can't see going with anything smaller than a 3" because I know a much smaller and lighter AIO digital FC is coming, which will make smaller than 3" quads fly much better than sticking a Caddx Vista in it at its current weight. My other 3" quads have 1408 motors in them. I had a question about whether these motors would be good enough to deal with the added weight of the Caddx Vista. Other than that, my only complaint is if you add up all of the parts to build this quad yourself, I found they give you no break AT ALL in the cost of buying this as a BNF vs. a build it yourself. A little disappointed that you actually have to add up all of the little 3D parts to get the total to come up close to their $305 price for the digital version. It actually might be a few bucks more than the cost of the parts separately! Building is fun, and gives me the opportunity to cherry pick the exact parts I want. They even charge $30 for the Crossfire Nano receiver that's only $25 (I always buy it without immortal T). Typically companies will give you some kinda of deal when you buy the BNF vs. individual parts at retail. *Avant quads, that's kind cheap of you to charge for full retail for every little itty bitty part to get us to the $305 you want for this thing. Remember, lots of options for us to choose from.* Myself, I don't even count 5% as a discount cause it adds up to such a tiny amount. Anyway, lol, besides those things, this looks good. 🤔😎🤘

Don't think you're wrong at all about smaller drones. I really love my 5 inch freestyle quads but I've gotten into building 3 inchers with the goal of getting it to fly like a 5 incher. Think I obtained that with my latest attempt cause I fly it more than my 5 inchers. Getting up to 7 minutes flight time on a RDQ 1000mah 6S lipo. Check out my build on Rotobuilds. I have a DJI baby crocodile for my super long range exploring and I’m thinking about getting this Avio for more fun acro style flying. But I really want to share the video with my friends and family. Not SD card, but during flight. I’ve got the analog converter for my DJI goggles so I can now share any analog flights. Is there a way to share DJI flights without buying a second pair of $600 DJI goggles? Thanks!!

How do you think a slightly heavier quad would do with those motors? I'm debating getting them and they performed well on yours, but mine will be on the chunkier end of a 3inch with digital and a insta 360go and a heavier frame.
