That old white Lancer on narrow tires is killing it!

You can see how the modern cars and all the interfering electronics are confused as to what's going on and is taking power away from wheels and putting it to others, making everything behave weird, trying to straighten out based on software programming, even when you turn stuff "OFF", it's never fully off in case of what it thinks is an emergency, so you can't sue the manufacturer. Older cars are just putting the power down as intended and as the driver gives the inputs. Not a moment before or after. No buffering, just man and machine. Proper driving.

On low grip surface, most important thing, #1 is weight. You can outrun all powerful cars with 800kg four wheel drive 1 litre NA engine car, especially on such slow track, like this in video. Thats why old Subarus and Evos are doing well in this video as they are much lighter and also they use proper ice tires.

Hahaha this looks like good fun for people that want to gentle on their rides and still get that drifting action what a great idea whoever came up with this event

Oh wow the amount of people blaming the cars or the drivers for "bad performance". First of all. All of them were just having fun not prolly clocking speeds on that day. Second of all. Tires mean EVERYTHING when you drive on ice. You just cannot perform anything when you drive with all season tires like the M5 and RS6 did. You need at least studded tires but prefer spiked tires on pure ice. Narrow or not if you do not have spikes or studs you are in big trouble when you want to go fast on ice.

Coming from a guy that has owned a few gc8 sti's, evo6, gt4, ect in Canada . It's about what winter tire is on the car and how much tread is left more so than anything else. There all going to death traps if you have crap tires.

I appreciate it would have been a bit much for you to do, nonetheless, knowing what tyres each car were riding on would have been very useful to know. Type of tyre: winter/all season, spiked/chained, manufacturer..

Celica GT4 I think most underrated JDM car there is. RS6 was way too heavy and wrong tires for ice.
