The key is 10+ years old and the cylinder is the inside part of a double cylinder install. The pins indicate everything is factory. So about the time where we tell people to get a service and a possible pin replace. so this is the magic moment between gin and brass and barrel and steel, All 6 pin cores have undercut and the 4 drill protect inserts. There are also 3 inserts in the bible to protect the drivers

Well done Ash! I never seen "gin bottle" pins before, but absolutely love the way they interact with the undercut. With my current skill levels, I would never get into that.

Nice, I managed to find a ruko on ebay but was disappointed to find assa barrels. I would have preferred these, the search continues.

I know that feeling of wondering what's inside your Rukos. Sadly I don't yet know the feeling of opening them. I have another frustration too when it comes to Rukos & ASSAs, in that I don't know which model I have, and also who I should say is the maker. That's because I have an example where the body is etched ASSA but the key states Ruko. As one of my compulsions is correct numbering/naming/cataloguing, this adds a whole extra layer of frustration.

Good work! I'm trying to learn the vagaries of picking security pins, but not a lot of good teachers out there. Maybe you could do some videos on just picking security pins??
