Ruko Serie 1200 Pick and Gut - Just Look at that Key! 

If it could have gone wrong filming this excellent lock, I’d did 😭😭😭 still, I think what I finally got is a good video about a unique lock. Just look at that double key bitting! 😍😃👍🔐

Got this recommended, clicked the second I saw the series 1200. I've worked a bit as a locksmith in Denmark, and almost exclusively installed those locks when people needed replacements. They're not super cheap, but affordable. Didn't take long for me to swap my own lock for one of these beauties. As for cutting the keys, yea there's tools for that, and I'd recon a fair deal of locksmiths has a cutter for it. With the keys follows a green blank with a code on it. That translates to the pins used, so in my case, it was just fit a key, type in the code on the blank and hit start.

Very well done on a "quite" paracentric keyway with well chosen picking strategy, as well as a good understanding of the lock. Those double shallow countermilling to grab the ASSA barrel spools adds to the "extra" fun. Rune International's comments are spot on.

Jesus Christ, those pins😳 what a lock. Also wanted to say that this video didn't came up in my subscription feed, but I got it in my recommendations after binging BosnianBill, again.

Those key pins are really cool, they're similar to the chiseled pins in the Assa P600 but they have 2 cuts instead of just one (the P600 also has a crazy key). Very nice lock! I can't wait to get my hands on a Ruko one of these days.

The double points on the key pins give mastering possibilities, the master key acts on one edge the servant key on both edges. This can allow mastering without master wafers/pins. Never underestimate Ruko/Assa.

Wow! Some serious machining to create those pins! While picking, do you need to do anything to account for proper key pin rotation? Do the key pins "feel" different while picking?

Excellent job picking that nasty thing! You make it look easy! A remark on the driver-pins: On the Series 1200, according to Ruko, all driver pins should be a number 5. So the lock you have there is actually not pinned up as per the manufacturer’s documentation.

Suspicious, lock was swapped! Just kidding, excellent work. Given me some ideas for pins.

Any tips for dealing with the pins resting on the warding? I've tried using a thin half diamond just to get under the pins, but I usually just end up fumbling around in there.

Its a beautiful lock! Is there any difference to the Assa D12? As far as i've noticed and i only picked the D12 so far they look identical. Maybe the "Assa D12" is jut the modern version after Assa bought Ruko. Greetings from Germany

Correct me if I'm wrong but since they're both on the same pin, don't you only have to set half of them?

I'd just call it the dolphin lock due to all the clicking!

The key isn't actually that hard to cut. It can be done on a normal keycopyer with a spacial vise...

So lishi have a decoder for Ruko ??

@Lock Noob I don't understand how you do it. I can't even lift 1 pin, no matter how hard I try. Unless you're applying feather light tension, I don't see how it's even possible.

I don't understand why they make core serrations in brass, eventually they'll be smoothed out o_O

Have one D1200, and I cant for the love of god, reach the 2 pins in the back. I'm buying some flags with the next paycheck, I want try out.
