You can’t ask for a more thorough presentation of a Race Chip then what’s presented here! I’m thrilled and relieved that I’m about to purchase one for my BMW 2018 X5. I’ve installed the M exhaust performance package, 21’s staggered! Looking forward to getting that extra HP! Thanks again!!

Just installed a race chip on my octavia vrs tfsi, the race chip only connects to boost sensor, I can hear the turbo working harder on the different modes, this does not translate into any extra power or performance in my case, I’ll be sending it back and getting a remap

I'm curious because I see a lot of videos where a racechip is installed on a car and immediately tested to compare before and after results. But my understanding is that (in the case of Racechip) you are supposed to start off with a setting of 3 or so (out of 7), then give it a few days and then try higher settings progressively. Is that not necessary?

That's wierd, when others say they got way little gain from that chip...

My Racechip start acting up after weeks, Sometimes when I accelerate, It makes weird sound, car shake and losing power. But when I uninstall it, everything goes back to normal. Does anyone experience this? Any fix or scam?

Some people say its fine, but I have tried Race Chips on 2 cars (RS3 and Cupra) and both cars went into limp mode after driving for 20 minutes. Fitting is also difficult on some vehicles, and instructions are virtually non-existent. Power increases are nowhere near what they claim. Even when they do work, Race Chips will never be as beneficial as a professional remap tuned with a rolling-road. You can get a professional remap for less than the price of a Race Chip now anyway. Don't know why anyone would bother with Race Chip!

I have two observations to make; 1/ you don’t compare adding a Racechip to a remap as the title suggests. You casually mention a remap, at the end, as being ‘the ultimate’ but give no details or reasons. 2/ The technician does a spectacular job of dancing around saying what the Racechip actually does. He doesn’t even say which sensors it plugs into other than the lambda probe. If that’s all it is reading then it’s just telling the ECU that the car is running lean and so needs more fuel. You don’t actually explain anything! How exactly is the ECU fooled into producing the claimed +40bhp? It can’t add more air so it’s more boost and/or more fuel. If it’s doing something more sophisticated than that then you need to explain what.
