Calyrex's 'fusions' aren't fusions at all, but its ability As One is likely a reference to Jinba Ittai, meaning unity between horse and rider. As for Calyrex and its steeds, they're alright to me.
4:50 it represents the bond a king has with his horse It’s not basic it’s really unique and awesome The bond between horse and rider being the idea behind the fusion is extremely creative what do u mean
At this point I don't know whether or not this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I actually really like the designs of Glastrier and especially Spectrier. They're not my favorite designs by any means, but I don't think that they are bad. Also, someone seems to have forgotten about Necrozma.
I LOVE the new horses! Basic is what Galar seems to be all about, and I love that we just have a simple creature as a pokemon again. These horses have actually become some of my favourite pokemon now
I actually really love Crown Tundra so far. I've been going at it really slow. I feel like theres been more thought and effort put into the Crown Tundra, even in animation for cut scenes. Also really love the music and sheer variety of previous gens of Pokemon. Also really like Calyrex, especially as a character.
Sometimes being a simple design is a lot better than having a complex design though here both of the horse Pokemon were a bit more complex design it probably would have taken a bit longer for the crown tundra to come on out. Always keep things simple in terms of design it works out better in the long term. That's my thoughts for now.
You’re right but also HORSES!!!!!!!! I’ve always thought that Pokémon had a severe shortage of horses for a while tbh, especially considering how many kinds there are and how absolutely omnipresent they are in folklore worldwide. It genuinely took a long time for them to add any after the first ones. But gen 8 really fixed that!
Surprised you’re criticizing the Calyrex fusion for not being unique. I think and it’s pretty unique considering we’ve never had Pokémon riding other Pokémon. Plus it’s different than the other fusions we’ve had. And I’m also surprised you find the horses designs to be plain considering Zarude is also a little more plain and you described it as “solid” in terms of design. Obviously you’re entitled to your opinion tho
@Peacepiperf20 Timmy Oranguru throws Pokéballs at Pokémon. Calyrex also has a “Massive Noggin” so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was smart enough to actually catch Pokémon.
In my opinion, the calyrex fusions are Perfect, I really like the Bond between rider and steed inspirations they have and imo there's nothing else that we can do to make the designs even better, people always say that they could be a centaur pokemon but that doesn't even make sense, cause first of all centaurs aren't british, they're greek, so why would they put it in a british inspired game, second of all making them a centaur doesn't even show the primary inspirations that they have cause if they went for that route, people will only see it as a centaur pokemon and won't even see what it should suppose to be. It's not stupid, it's not uncreative, it's actually the opposite, the designs are perfect, nothing more, nothing less.
I'll admit the fusion they came up with is interesting, but for the horse may need a little bit of a new design. The the strength of the Pokemon and the galar birds origins are really cool
In case you do a video on how diamond and pearl remakes could work, a plot that could happen if remakes are planned is that the original plot stays the same, but after beating the Champion for the first time, Charon (the “secret admin”) bailed team galactic out of prison and Cyrus tries again on creating a new world, that time resulting in the Pokémon Platinum’s plot, being Giratina bringing Cyrus to the distortion world. Maybe diamond and pearl remakes would have happened in Gen 7 if your Pokémon-trainer fusion theory video was correct, due to Cyrus saying that he doesn’t see Pokémon as partners or tools, but as power he should claim as his own.
Speaking of Shellder-related things, I thought recently Shellder should have another evolution that's Water/Poison. I noticed recently that when it comes to Slowbro and Slowking (both Kantonian/Johtonian forms and Galarian forms), it's consistently mentioned how they're affected by Shellder's poison. This means Shellder has poison, but not enough to be considered a Poison-type. Maybe the reason Shellder is a pure Water-type and Cloyster is a Water/Ice type is the Water Stone washes away its poison and allows it to focus more on defense and elemental manipulation. Maybe its own poison damages it too, so without poison it becomes stronger, allowing its shell to reach its highest layer of hardness and enabling it to form ice to heal any lasting damage. In any case, maybe someday they'll introduce the rejected item the Poison Stone.
The galar birds are awesome designs but the move pool brings me back to gen 1 a little bit. I would’ve liked to see them get access to some moves from their original typing. There are a number of moves like wild charge for zapdos that would have been a good fit and provided some nice coverage.
I think that the horse being so simple in design might be a good thing because playing the story the legend of calyrex is so old that no even know what the horse looks like until you plant the carrots seeds So how is there two horse when in the legend there only one plus your 4 horsemen of apocalypse tells me that there might be 2 more
@@rz6839 maybe but look back on the calyrex story some of it kind of fits it plus before calyrex tames the horse they actually terrorize the town both in the present i.e. in game and the past when the horse was still wild The horse is unknown before you choose one
i think i would prefer if calyrex had 4 versions, 1 for each horseman and you can't tell which version you caught until it gigantimaxes(or mega evolves) which it summons it's stead to ride.
Idea: Water type Regi, Regidro Grass type Regi, Regivine Fire type Regi, Regiflame Ghost type Regi, Regireaper Flying type Regi, Reginado Fighting type Regi, Regibrawl Psychic type Regi, Regimind Dark type Regi, Regievil Fairy type Regi, Regimystic Poison type Regi, Regitox Ground type Regi, Regidust Bug type Regi, Reginsect (Bug, Dark, Poison, Fairy, and Psychic would not work for Regi’s)
What if the Pokedex entries from each game are written, in universe, by someone from the region the game takes place in. It would explain certain conflicting Pokedex entries from different games, plus it would make sense that someone from Galar would claim it’s native variant inspired the species name.
Only Calyrex and Galarian Slowking were well designed. The last 2 legendary birds can’t paralyze or burn despite the clear lightning and fire with Galarian Zapdos and Moltres, even though Galarian Articuno has no ice like effects. The legendary horses are also plain, though it could have been solved by just adding stripes or more color. Regidraco looks cool, but its signature move is like Archeops’s defeatist ability, and Regieleki is as boring as Carracosta.
As far as the bird trio is concerned, I was always bothered by Kantonian Zapdos' design. It never felt like the pokemon that can fly using those wings. The Galar Zapdos feels like, this is what it should have been. Not meant to fly. Although I hate that they took away electric type from Zapdos, I would have loved all the birds flying type to replaced by other their other element. Like , Galar Zapdos is now Fighting/Flying- same as Hawlucha...I would have preferred it to be Fighting/Electric instead. Galar Moltres is now Dark/Flying- same as Yveltal,Mandibuzz etc...I would have preferred it to be Dark/Fire instead.(I mean we have known moltress by its signatur flame since the very beginning) Galar Articuno is now Psychic/Flying same as Pau form Oricorio etc...I would have preferred it to be Ghost/Ice or Psychic/Ice instead. Haha I went overboard with this comment ehh
So it is based on the four horsemen cuz death crossed my mind when I saw spectrier But there isn’t four of them I see it more based on King Arthur and his prized horse Lliamre
Wait a minute! They named Moltress? So the Pokémon say what they are named after and not vice versa? Also i think i is unfair to send out two Pokémon against a single oposing, just because i manage to put them into one ball. Aren't there rules against that? Otherwise i would start to train all my Pokémon to ride each other, just for having double the Mon on the field.
Well some Legendary pokemon rarely actually say their own names. It's usually just screams. So probably the Pokemon that do say their names get named after that, while the ones that don't have people name them
Sometimes, a bland design, is better than a complex design. i absolutely love the steed pokemon. they're one of my favourite new pokemon introduced in the DLC
man... i LOVE glastrier... it is my second favourite pokemon... ( the first is qwilfish) also, necrozma hasn't the ability to fuse with lunala and solgaleo?
With the calyrex rider being based of the 4 horsemen of apocalypse and the horse in the legend kind of being unknown could there be 2 more horse and what could be there types be
I doubt they are. Cause if they were then the black horse would rep famine and not harvest and white horse wouldn't rep healing. Atleat when Calyrex fuses with them. They wouldn't represnt those things.
YukiSNOW I think the other two are the red horse of war and the pale horse of death (which some have interpreted to be light green though I don't know why), so maybe a red Fire-type, Fighting-type, or Dark-type and a beige, light tan, or light green Poison-type, Dark-type, or Grass-type. Thinking about it more, they'd have to keep the theme of Calyrex having a weakness to their typing, so I'd say the red Fire-type and the pale Dark-type or Poison-type would be the most likely.
@@sabercat5490 For the sake of argument, maybe they only represent harvest and healing when under Calyrex's influence. After all, their individual Pokedex entries make them sound menacing. For the sake of a different argument, maybe they really aren't based on the Four Horsemen and they're simply a callback to Black 2 and White 2. It's fun to speculate either way.
This is the first time I've seen the stat spread of the 5 small Regis side by side. It makes me think that at some point, we'll get a Water physical attacker, Fire special attacker, and Grass mixed attacker.
im a fan of the ghost form, but agree that both forms are way too boring, and though i almost always agree that simpler and subtle designs are the best, these ones still needed to be more thought-out
The horses are actually some of my favorite legends in a long time, LEAGUES ahead of the original birds and still slightly ahead of Galarian Articuno and Moltres while tying with Galarian Zapdos. They're designs don't look basic to me, sure they have simple designs but their simplicity exudes a kind of power and regality that a lot of legends fail to deliver (see Lake Trio for reference on a failure). Plus back on the birds, one thing the horses definitely have over them is lore. The original birds had to have their lore added in after the fact, and these Galarian birds don't seem to be any different. On the point of Moltres' name, I don't think that the Galarian form being called "Moltres" had any effect on the name of the Kanto form. Rather, it seems to me that these could be unrelated birds that happen to share enough similarities to the original birds that they ended up being given the same exact names entirely independently.
Wait the 4 HORSE of apocalips? Then ¿were are the other 2 Pokemon company? WERE IS THE HORSE OF WAR AND ILLNESS? Lol I think they not have time to put those other 2 horses 😅
I was so excited for this expansion, but I finished it today and meh. I like the story, but the layout is kinda screwy and there seem to not be too many raids to hit. The environments are gorgeous for a Pokémon game, but the Isle is Armor seemed more carried. Plus it flowed better. I actually liked the Isle of Armor better, I think. It really annoyed me that you can only get one new Regi, when the debut trailer made me excited to catch both. Also, battling the Regis and such didn’t seem epic or anything in the least. I really enjoyed Calyrex’s story and hunting the birds, though!
