I like when I'm watching what someone's doing rather than watching someone's face explaining what they're doing. I feel like a lot of people just like to look at themselves, hear themselves talk, and bask in the glory of the attention they receive, and the thing they claim to be passionate about is really just the thing that caught on and got them the most views. When someone can showcase their craft without including their ego I feel like it shows true mastery and genuine passion for their craft.
Thanks Matt, I really appreciate the thoughtful comment. Now don't forget to like, share, subscribe and smash that bell button for instant notifications! 🤣
That was AWESOME !!! You’ve got serious skills my brother …putting your own spokes in is special , that’s a dying breed of people who can do that . Great Job !!! 👍😊
I grew up on these bikes watching guys like Jeremy McGrath kill it. So want a late 90s early 2000s CR250. Thank you for that video. Brought back great memories. Amazing rebuild!!!!
Nice work! I did my 01 a couple summers ago. I believe this was the best time for Hondas 2 strokes ever. This era of bikes will always be my favorite. Wish I could show you a photo of mine. ❤After putting your hands on every part and the work and time involved, the appreciation and bond you now have with the bike is even more special. My guess is this bike no matter what will be dear to your heart for a long time. Nice video!
Absolutely amazing build. Brings back so many memories of building my 2003 CR250. Your attention to detail is unbelievable. And wow, she sounds amazing... congrats 👏
Какое замечательное видео! Как приятно смотреть и вызывает большое уважение, как увлеченный человек своими руками показывает на что он способен, именно его действия говорят о нём, а не болтовня и жестикуляция рук. 👍💫
Wow that was so relaxing to watch except towards the end. I was so hoping you started it. And you did thanks for not ruining the video. What a beautiful job you did that bike is gorgeous.
Great build! You should check out the one I am just finishing up on my 18 af 500. Keep up the good work will be following along for more builds like this
Bike looks amazing, love working in the living room 👍 what was the 2 holes drilled in the side of the piston for? I'm guessing lubrication to the wrist pin but I don't know... actually I watched again and looks like the holes in piston where on the exhaust side, so would not be for lubrication, let me know what they are for.... awesome build tho👍👍
Hey thanks so much, Andy! It's to lube and keep cool the exhaust bridge on the cylinder which are notorious for cracking. See this: blog.wiseco.com/two-stroke-how-to-relieving-the-exhaust-bridge-and-drilling-lubrication-holes
Rad build, I did a 76 yz100 when I was a kid put an 80 wheel set on it and it looked like YZ 80 with a lot of travel and a little easier to maneuver if you're younger stepping up till 125 but I had a 175 jug that fits on the 100 yes 175 cylinder head and piston will fit on 100 engine bottom end so I was racing 175 in a 80 cc class, who are the monster back sprocket starting out in second gear with a big trench digger and I'll be spraying trail mix on everybody pulling three or four bike lengths before the first left turn, braaap braaat, well till I got caught LOL sold it to my buddy and got a maico magnum 250 brurrrt" burrrt" with life of power
Drilling the piston skirt is an old dessert racing trick from the 1960's(and it's only done on the intake side)It was often combined with a horn button converted to as kill switch so that you could send a burst of cool air when going wide open on the throttle for extended periods of time.
What was with drilling the holes in the piston? Better cooling/lubrication? How big was the drill bit, and did you drill on both sides of the skirt or just the exhaust side?
I've never herd or seen of someone drilling side of a piston must be help with lubrication, I noticed they never got back to on that 1 must be a little turning secret
What a mechanical genius ... If I had a dirt bike it'll be a treasure to have him as a next door neighbor just inspired me to understand that any the inner workings of this mechanical road beast..... EXCELLENT
Dude this is my type of build, nothing fancy or flashy and old school honda graphics. Yet everything done with skill and precision. Fundamentals done right. Gorgeous bike
Heck yeah fantastic job...did a rebuild myself on a 99 kx250 and it came out great. Lot of time and dedication but when it's done the feeling of satisfaction is something else
I’ve watched this video 20+ times now. Not going to lie I’m going to kinda copy you. It’s almost exactly how I pictured my 02 250 then I found yours, and I fell in love with it and definitely inspired me for my build!
I remember picking up my new 2003 cr 250 Christmas Eve, the wife came home from work around 6 pm, and I was eating dinner sat on the bike in our living room…… bone dry engine, spent Christmas Day running it in… 👌🇺🇸🏴
greetings from Córdoba Argentina: even if you don't see it and maybe you don't believe me I finished watching your video and I'm standing applauding it... great job and GREAT MACHINE that CR !!!!!
Brought back some beautiful memories. I used to race a cr500, it was a beast of a machine. I feel a real tingle inside that hurts a little to see such a re build, and another i will never get to ride one again. The sound, the smell of the two stroke and that power when it came on...😩
I got this old basket case and rebuilt it once. I hoped on it to fire it up. Dam thing started first kick; but the carb was assembled full open. It was the quickest 6 seconds of my life!
Its always good to see people taking care in what they do and being meticulous about it. This video was very enjoyable because the presenter focussed on the build to the exclusion of unnecessary narration, allowing the video to speak for itself. I'm happy to subscribe to someone that takes care in what they do and has pride in the outcome, and the Owner has every right to be proud! I like and respected his attention to detail, in fact I liked everything about this video.
Love the clean oem look! Everyone is building full out custom bikes with 10,000$ or more in them and you build a modest beautiful every day bike! Should have a nice bike for years to come
Thanks man, I really appreciated this comment. I wasn't sure many people would appreciate my simple build, so it makes me happy to read comments like this.
It's amazing how little dirt bikes have changed in 20 years. My first dirt bike came from the early '60s and my last came from the early '80s. Now THAT was a difference.
@JackF I love old bikes. The older they are the better. I have a 1976 RM250A with 6 inches of front suspension and 4 inches of rear suspension. Such a fun bike to ride. I am doing a full factory OEM restoration on my 1983 Honda Xl600R Dual Sport. $7,000 in on that restoration. I also have a 1992 Kawasaki KX250 two stroke and a 2001 Yamaha TTR 150.
I like your style sir, just the right amount of aftermarket touch while still the retaining the stock form. I would've probably added a FMF pipe but she turned out beautiful all the same. Well done.
