I have honestly enjoyed the Russians and Romanians the most from the current line up, but you are probably right with the general balance. I do certainly feel like the Soviets suffer from overprice especially in the T-34/85 department. They arent significantly cheaper to some of their counterparts and just dont perform well at their price. Same problem with strelki squads for the russians. They are kinda meh compared to german units, while not even having a slight avail advantage. There defo are some things to iron out, but its nothing major.
T34/85 are extremely strong and cost effective after the Tank speed rework. Their 55 km/hr road speed allows them to get to the front faster than almost every other tank in the game.
I love playing the Romanians especially the 5th cav. I love strong unique infantry myself. I like some of the niche Soviet divisions like the gornostrelkis and 43 reserve that have cool infantry. I think you need to use the t34/85 like a heavy tank instead of a medium tank. They don’t stack up great pound for pound against tigers and panthers but they can very well against p4s and stugs
Well its hard to simulate that their soldiers and equipment were trash for most of the war. They made up in numbers and that game isn't balanced around huge numbers against quality units. They buffed the allied tanks a lot, too. Shermans were mass produced cardboardtanks.
From axis vs aillie when it comes into tanks axis have stronger tanks such as panther and tigers while the aillie as Soviet just has insane overwhelming force of tanks in army general you just see a wall of t34 85 later on like over 100 of them Aircraft is equal but Germans gets better aircraft such as g6 r6 or focko wolf and Soviet has more maneuverable aircraft such as yaks and la5 and la7
