Angron was a psyker. The nails kept him from using it and he didn't want to anyway. After Kyras threw his lot in with Nurgle, the Maledictum convinced him Khorne was the better path and he swore off using his powers in favor of wanton slaughter. Khorne has no problem with psykers. His problem is with psykers taking away the martial honor of combat that he embodies. If you have access to a cheat code and don't use it, it makes you more honorable, not less.
It also helps if you squish your enemies with your psychic abilities and take their red stuff like a sponge. I think that Khorne would be happy in that respect.
Dude, I've heard the "Blood for the Blood God" mantra thousands of times, but this one is the most impressive one. The passion and insanity conveyed in this guys voice is awesome, in the most primal meaning of the word.
"Faithful... enlightened... ambitious... brethren. In but a single decade, a few mere swipes of the pendulum, we have gathered a sacrifice to Khorne that will be made legend. Though it was a simpler, weaker voice that illuminated me during my centuries upon the Judgement of Carrion... ...it was Khorne's messenger who showed me the true path of freedom from our pathetic corpse-Emperor. And what is this path? This meaning, this purpose to which we gather the skulls of our foes? It is nothing. There is no meaning, no purpose. We murder. We kill. It is mindless savagery, this UNIVERSE IS MINDLESS! In mere hours, billions will die. Innocent! Guilty! Strong and weak! Honest and deceitful! ALL of them! They will scream, they will burn, and for no purpose but that mighty Khorne may revel in their bloodshed! And united in this void of purpose, fear, or duty... we shall at long last be free! Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne! LET! THE GALAXY! BURN!"
@@luism2754 It's because he knows he is right. Because it's not just boasting or madness what he says, but in good parts the truth: He truly is empowered by the manifestation of all the hate and ambition of all sentient life in the galaxy. Chaos is merely the very will of life itself, let loose to kill itself.
@@luism2754 he was stuck on an abandoned ship drifting in an alternate dimension for years by himself and demonic whispers. His faith was tested and then broken. He gave himself to demons and now his soul is forever damned. Better to never having been born at all.
You know what I just realized? The reason I love this speech so much is that it's showing a descent into frothing madness... but where that madness starts is deceptively difficult to place. It's all madness. And it is miraculous.
Daniel Spengler I think that's probably the scariest part about mankind. Whether they serve the God-Emperor or the Chaos Gods, they are not too dissimilar in their approach to things and how they act.
Love how a Librarian of a generally intellectual and psychic chapter turns to Khorne rather than Tzeentch. Shows that, even though the gods have their specific types, sheer bloodthirsty nihilism knows no bound. Neither does infinite hedonism, rotting entropic despair or the desperate search for answers and meaning. Anyone can fall to any god.
I would simply say that Relic got the fluff wrong again and again. Khorne see psykers as cowards and would have rejected both him and Sindri. It's not even negotiable, he abhors them completely.
Yeah he's not a fan, one of the only non-murder items he likes is those collars that shut them down. But also, he's fairly pragmatic wen it comes to killing. If Kyras didn't mind getting his hands dirty and actually killing people Khorne would probably overlook the psyker thing. He just hates people pussying out of melee and honourable combat.
Tentons O'fun Plus he's a great speaker and motivator for Khorne's followers, so good that he's bringing in more people even dragging in followers from other gods. That'll definitely help Khorne see him as an exception.
Patrick Macy Khorne doesn't make exceptions. Chaos gods are monomaniac and Khorne is probably the one which is the most extreme about this. For him, psykers only exist to be killed. He would have rejected Kyras as a wannabe and would have probably goaded his followers to kill Kyras for insulting Khorne. Sorcerers often become Tzeentch, Slaneesh or Nurgle followers, but never Khorne. I love Kyras, but the whole "I will become a Daemon prince of Khorne" is complete bs.
Philippe D.R. Yet the dude lends his weight behind the mark of undivided, and lets his guys go off to war with Abaddon and other non-denominates. He is literally a being of psyker energy, like all chaos gods and whilst he hates anyone fighting lie cowards, he gives out psyker weapons like candy if they do the job. Every chaos marine, berserkers included use psykers to get through the warp. Khorne doesn't really hate psykers, he hates psykers using their powers to get around the real combat. He'll use them, or allow them used, like support staff. When the fighting starts, they either get the chainaxes out or get dead. But you're dead right about Kyras. If he wants to go Khorne, he has to ditch the whole librarian schtick. Get a nail in his brain to shut that stuff down and run around with an axe like the rest of the gang.
@@stephenbyrne2170 Khorne doesn't care whose blood flows, he only cares that it flows. So it doesn't matter if they live on the same galaxy or not, as you can clearly understand they're loyal to Khorne and they will do his bidding.
What I really like about this speech is Kyras is more than just a typical villain. You generally can understand why he became the way he did. He was desperate to escape the Judgement of Carrion by any means necessary and ultimately made a pact with Ulkair to do so.
Admit tingly it would be deduction on my part from listening to some of the dialogue in Chaos Rising; it does say somewhere in the game that Kyras was the one that managed to imprison Ulkair (However despite Ulkair being trapped he could still influence others) so I'm assuming that Ulkair was able to take advantage of Kyra's plight on the Judgement of Carrion as Kyras (Along with battle brothers such as Galan) were trapped there for centuries. Reasons like that are often all Chaos needs to make a loyalist theirs.
Damocles178 It has admittedly been a while since I have played the game, but didn't Angelos say something to the likeness of that thing that Sindri was going to ascend using was what caused the corruption of Kyras?
+theberzerkir Sorry I didn't really see your comment till now, youtube didn't notify me for some reason. As far as corruption goes; Kyras had already been corrupted by Ulkair when he was desperate to escape from the Judgement of Carrion. Later on the daemon of the Maledictum then made it's move to contact Kyras as it had vowed to destroy the entire Blood Ravens Chapter on Tartarus; *"Yes flee and know I will soon come to claim you all"*.Kyras had already trodden on a dark path which meant the Daemon of the Maledictum was able to manipulate him more easily as it knew Kyras would willingly serve the ruinous powers of chaos. So yes the Daemon of the Maledictum did have a part in Kyras later turning to Khorne but Ulkair had already set Kyras on the dark path beforehand. :)
"I hear them. I have always heard them. Whispers. In the back of my mind. I hear them when I awaken. I hear them when I close my eyes to sleep. I hear them in my dreams. Taunting, Teasing, Tempting me with so much. Offering me whatever I desire. Knowledge and Power. Immortality. Freedom from pain and agony. All of my enemies fallen before me. Pleasures beyond imagining. At first I feared them. I begged, pleaded, prayed to the God Emperor to banish the voices. To make the constant, unceasing voices stop. To have my dreams free from the sounds of damnation. But salvation never came. He did nothing. The whispers still come, stronger than ever. They filled my mind with new thoughts, new fears, and... doubt. They told me the Emperor is nothing more than a rotting corpse upon a gilded throne. That there was no point in praying to an ever decaying husk. That in this stagnating Imperium, I was less than nothing to those above me. That to them, all that I was good for was working myself to the bone, and when needed, a pawn to hold back the ever moving march of their enemies. I realized at that moment, the voices were right. I was nothing. The Emperor was dead. The Imperium was dying. Filled with corruption, and fueled by the suffering of the loyal citizens they swore to protect. In the end... I was nothing. But, maybe I could change this. Maybe I could open my mind. And let the whispers of Chaos claim me at last."
@@OnlyInt actually, he didn't want to. Didn't he just sent a report to the Inquisition who just came and eradicated everything there, to Gabriel's surprise?
This is the only time I've heard the 'blood blood skulls skulls etc.' mantra uttered with utter sincerity and from a Librarian of all people. Given the insane bloodlust and hatred in that performance that puts all other (voiced) followers of Khorne to shame i'd say he definitely earned that Princedom. Let! THE GALAXY! *BURRRRRRN!* D:
Oh god yes; this was the first time you could actually take a Khornate speech seriously . In the other DOW games we had Crull and Khorne Bezerkers. Lol I remember a Beserker screaming "Blood for the blood god! Blood for the blood god! Blood for the blood god!" before completely spazzing out. :)

Thats the thing about Chaos and Heresy or the nature of evil. Its very seductive in the right circumstances even the strongest mind can turn to it. In many cases in Warhammer 40k just the exposure to Chaos leads to madness and corruption in an unwilling way. Look how Horus was corrupted and Fulgrim. They essentially had no choice and it wasnt a test of wills or personal strength.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to this speech. It’s absolutely perfect. The voice acting, the effects to the voice are exactly how I’d imagine a psyker to sound, his anger and tone is just *chef’s kiss*. Always gives me goose bumps
There's a certain simplicity in Khorne that I love. It's just like, the galaxy is shit and everyone is gonna keep fighting each forever, so you might as well enjoy the fight.
Khorne represents chaos in w40k Just war unlike tzeentch, nurgle and slaneesh Its easy to represent chaos with khorne thats why i think w40k uses him alot I mean with that speech, i know you notice it too, it doesnt fit with tzeentch or nurgle or slaneesh, only with khorne
There's a reason Khorne has a daemon world with an eternally-reviving Ork war on it. They fought all the way through the Eye of Terror, and it impressed him enough that he granted them what's basically Ork Heaven- an eternal fight where they wake up the next day if they die, and so do their opponents. The Orkiest, most Khornate gift- endless, ceaseless, limitless war. (It's even funnier if you picture Khorne looking at it like a snow globe for entertainment as he sits on his throne.)
Games can elicit emotions in way that other forms of art just can't. His last screams and throws of madness leaves me wanting to just scream in Khornate fury. It's hard to explain, but it just causes a build up of aggressive energy leading up to his "LET THE GALAXY BURN!" and then you let it all out
Khorne is unarguably the most interesting and misunderstood of the Chaos Gods. He's not just primal rage and savage violence.. that's how most of his followers interpret Khorne and present themselves as such. Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows.. whether from a severed head or from a bullet hole in the back of your skull. Khorne is the fundamental competition between all existing things from two objects that cannot occupy the same point in space to massive interstellar civilizations waging war on one another for resources, ideology... it doesn't matter. The strong will crush the weak. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
I like to think Khorne listened to this speech and said to himself: "I hate sorcerers like you and your Librarian ilk. But you know what, Kyras? You're one of the good ones."
Oh my Emperor, I can not stop myself for watching this video again and again.. I can feel the seed of heresy linger in my mind.. oh the eternal Emperor, please protect my soul as I walk under your immortal shadow...
"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL-THRONE! LET. THE GALAXY. BURN!!!" That part of the speech gets me every time. The whole thing is amazing in its wording and presentation as it is, but hearing him shout those lines like a true devotee to Khorne is just plain glorious.
his voice portrays being corrupted by Khorne quite well, it starts relatively normal but he starts saying weird shit, he gets angrier and angrier as he speaks untill he nukes his vocal chords at the "blood for the blood god" part.
Of all the dark gods' machinations, this little speech came the closest to opening my eyes to chaos. Close, but still, nowhere near close enough... No pity, no remorse, no fear!

They just don't make villains like this, that believe in what they do to the core of their soul to the point of being this passionate about it anymore.

As a fellow devotee of Chaos, I'll admit that Kyras's speech was awe inspiring. It's unfortunate that he became a Khorne only worshipper. Had he embraced Chaos Undivided, he'd have won and achieved daemonhood like he sought not to mention bring the Blood Ravens over to the right side, the side of Chaos! Glory to Chaos Undivided! LET THE GALAXY BBBUUURRRNNNNNN!
Chaos Undivided is the true force that moves the universe indeed brother, but not all can endure that path, each God needs their champions, so they inspire us to seek greatnes, and throw chaos undivided, The Everchosen shall shred to pieces the walls of reality throw the ultimate battle of the end times.
@@HeIsAnAli Yo I didnt know that, thanks for letting me in on that. I am looking at it now, and I see that GW likes to tease about it. Anything else I should know that is really awesome, cool or interesting? Are there any other blood Angel's traitors that we know of? Or any traitor warbands of blood Angels?... I know of that one traitor that called himself "The Flesh Tearer" that Kharn killed in the book "Chosen of Khorne". Now that I think about it, I would have thought the Blood Drinkers to be the closest thing to 1000 sons loyalists, because anyone one of them could seal the fate of the entire Sanguinius lineage if even one of them falters and makes a deal with Tzeench. Come to think of it, I've never heard of blood ravens suffer from the red thirst or black rage. Can 1000 sons experience REM sleep? The Blood Ravens cant experience REM sleep. In REM sleep, you have vivid dreams... But Iskandar Khayon has had dreams before... this is weird.
Why are yuo all callin kyras a bad guy just cos you all HATIN on his relgion if it offend you just coz he makin a religous sacrifice to his god doesnt mean you can be khornophobic it's racist #heretic4lyf #socialjustice #cut4khorneiber
No more talk Kyras. You have much to answer for. For what you have done to the Blood Ravens, much shall be avenged this day! FOR GABRIEL! FOR THE EMPEROR!
Amazing character. However, what in the name of fuck were the writers thinking when they decided that the Chapter Master LIBRARIAN of a successor chapter of the Thousand Sons was a Khornate - who by the way despises sorcerers and psykers alike.
+Jacob Black In a nutshell, Khorne would be happy with Darth Maul, but unhappy with Sidious. Martial prowess is all that really matters to him, and a Librarian is more Warrior than Psyker.
+Scoutthomson He hates people who USE Psychic powers. Now think, when did we see Kyras ever use his psyker powers? Khorne doesn't hate you for what you are, he hates you for what you DO. And so Kyras throwing aside his psyker powers when he becan to worship Khorne is something Khorne would be likely ok with. Khorne is all about using your own strength, so as long as a Psyker is willing to cease using his psyker powers, I don't see any problem he would have with them.
Technically Sorcery is what Khorne hates, Psykers are something different. Using your own psykick powers against your enemies is fine so long as you do not invoke the power of something else which is what sorcerers do.
That's what makes chaos dangerous. It's not the deamons, the traitor space marines or even the gods themselves. For it's the nihilism itself that gave birth to all of them. Slaanesh was born out of the Eldar's lack of meaning and purpose. And the root of Horus doubt of the Emperor was that neither he or his sons saw a purpose or tangibile future in the peace that came after they destroyed all their enemies and united mankind with fire and sword. And even the citizens of the Imperium cling with such fanaticism to their faith as to do otherwise would make them aware to how meaningless is their miserable existence.
Alot of Khorne memes say "Blood for the Blood god" In a snarling and feral manner, but we can't forget that alot of the Chaos Space Marines are still elite soldiers who were raised and taught in a professional manner. One could imagine the way they talk as still being refined and sophisticated like Azariah Kyras, which is in line with the makings of an exceptional and intelligent superhuman being.
Khorne does not care how, from, or where the blood comes from, only that it does. He acknowledges the mindless feral killer and the honorable warrior that will never act cowardly and hit you in the back, allways seeking a formidable oponent and an honorable fight. You can become a champion of Khorne with either path, or both... That is the greatness of the path of glory.
