I knew his daughter and I used to catch a ride home from school when I was in junior high from B.J. Thomas. LOL! I thought it was so cool. RIP B.J. He was a legend and a fine gentleman.
You should consider watching this movie. Two of the most talented, elegant, smolderingly handsome guys to ever hit the big screen headline a classic movie I’ve seen countless times & will definitely watch again
As a teenager, Butch Cassidy and Sundance kid was the first movie that I saw w/o family. Ticket was purchased with money I made from a summer job. I felt like a grown up. This song played while Paul Newman rode a sexy Katherine Ross on a bicycle. I suppose women would say Paul Newman was sexy for that matter but not the heart throb that was Robert Redford.
I sang this with our 8th grade chorus group. Mrs. Hutton was out teacher at Lee Burneson Jr High in Westlake Ohio. The year was 1972, unforgettable memory. 50 years later I am still friends with some of those kids.
This is from the UK's weekly Top of the Pops performance from 1970. The dancing girls are very pretty. This one was hosted by legendary DJ Tony Blackburn.
Thanks for doing this song. This was one of my Mom's all-time faves. I still have the 45 that she bought when this was on the radio. Yes, uplifting was always her style. Like yours.
This song was my favorite when it came out. I believe I was in middle school or something like that. I love his voice! Thank you for doing a reaction! RIP BJ Thomas
This was one of my father’s favorite songs. Every time I hear this I wish I could tell him not to do it, but he couldn’t take the pain no more.😢. Thank you for this reaction ❤
B.J. Thomas was a cutie! RIP. Loved the song which reminds me of my childhood, and Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid is a classic starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford in their glorious prime. Serious eye candy, and the movie was based on real characters.
@@GEFanuc21t --This guy's in love with you was written by Bacharach/David. Bacharach inserts a style of horn into some of his compositions that is distinctive. Raindrops keep falling on my head has that horn style. That's why I thought it might be Bacharach. For those who don't know, Hal David was the lyricist in this writing team. Together they wrote many hit songs for other artists.
Saw him several times, always played a long set and found time to talk to converse with his fans! He grew up in Houston and went to high school with a good friend of minds Mom and she said he was always friendly and never forgot where he came from!! A voice like an Angel and I am certain he is belting out the hits in heaven!!
That movie's made me fall in love with the song and Robert Redford, hahaha! I'm still in love with him! Sometimes it's better just to listen to the audio, so we can focus on the lyrics and the instruments.
I was 10 years old when this song came out. My parents loved this song, and so did I. My Mom and I used to dance to this song. BJ Thomas had such a smooth voice, no enhancements were necessary. Thank you for reacting to this song. May God Bless You.
OMG I was 5 years old when this song came out and I LOVED it! I remember turning up the radio when we were in the car and singing along as loud as I could, lost in my own little world. I think lots of kids liked this song, the melody is fun for kids to dance to, and raindrops on my head is fun to say.
This is the first time I watched one of your reactions and now I'm an instant subscriber. When I was a little lad I used to listen to this song on the radio and loved it. One time I was dining in a fancy restaurant with my family and a violinist came to our table and asked us to pick a song. First I choose "Candy Man" by Sammy Davis Jr., but he didn't know it. Then I choose this song, he played it and it brought a big smile on my face. My God, I haven't thought of that moment in forever. Thanks for reacting!
Even if you don't react to them, Listen to his version of "I'm So Lonsome I Could Cry" and "Eyes of a New York Woman." Loved his voice since I was in High School. " Hooked on a Fee!ing" was one of his biggest hits. Thank you for remembering BJ for those of us who are still finding our eyes welling up with tears.
I grew up in Arlington, TX, just down the street where BJ lived. My friends and I would see him on Saturday mornings outside mowing or working on his flowers in his front yard. We’d honk the horn and wave……he always waved back. He was cool.
I was very young when he was popular. Kind of pop/country! What you can’t see in this video is his crystal blue eyes. Very rugged and handsome! Great voice. Unfortunately his chemical addiction spoiled the success. When he finally recovered, he sang about it. RIP BJ!
B.J. was a great performer. I saw him twice -- once in my hometown and it was a big thrill. He had a lot of big hits and this was one of his very best. RIP my friend!!
Actually I have not seen the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid but it played out of downtown Theater Minneapolis for full-year you don't see that anymore
The movie ' Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid ' (1971) was where I first heard this song. ( Was wearing a onesie back then, so u know I was still pretty yung)
I think I've watched 100 of your videos tonight... I can't get enough of your reactions on such awesome songs. So I'm just going to comment on all of them now with songs so you can keep entertaining me. I am so here for you! Jonathan Roy "Keeping me alive " ( live acoustic performance)
Your videos speak out to me. My dad knew BJ Thomas and got to pray with him before his death. I’d love to get to know you and just share music with you
@@annother3350 the waiting list for tickets for the Top of the Pops audience, was at least 6 months all the girls I knew in the 60s and 70s would have loved to be on Top of the Pops, no one forced anybody.
@@beatlebrian4404 "the girls in the audience would dance to any song' -- They had to -- even a song they hated -- they had to dance and look like they were having fun
BJ's voice could translate to so many genres and he crossed many so-called boundaries during his career from country to rock to mainstream pop and later Christian music. He was certainly fortunate to get his hands on some great material and worked with some of the best producers and musicians however, he had to "deliver" ..... and he sure did with his vocals. RIP Billy Joe; enjoy that jam session in the great hereafter with Chips and The Memphis Boys.
"raindrops keep falling on my head" is a metaphor for problems/challenges that occur in life but don't them get you down and don't cry and complain about your troubles because that won't do any good and won't help to overcome those challenges. Main song to the movie : Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid" in 1969, wom the Grammy for that year, and the song was inducted into The Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014. Started out singing in local choir. had a top 10 hit also in 1968: "Hooked on a Feeling". Mr Thomas passed on in 2021 - RIP.
That's the music my parents used to listen while I grow up, I loved your reaction and now I beacame your fan. Please react to a Bee Gees song called "TO MUCH HEAVEN" Greetings from México ♥️♥️
Rxyce, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid was indeed a western but it was funny! Really well written lines and the back and forth between the two was priceless. It’s worth a watch!! 😊🌹
This was a "catchy" song composed for the movie, but BJ did some beautifully romantic ballads. His voice was unmistakable. I still have a 33 1/3 album of his Greatest Hits somewhere in my closet . . . =) Try "Hooked On A Feeling". Cheers.
Upbeat vibes you say? Check out The Rascals ('cause no one's doing them yet!) - It's A Beautiful Morning, A Girl Like You, Good Lovin', How Can I Be Sure, I've Been Lonely Too Long, Groovin' and People Got To Be Free.
as a kid a saw this movie,,,,it was a must back then when you were a male,,,,,,,,,and this song gives me chills even today after more then 50 years,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanks
There is a BJ Thomas version of I just can't help believin on youtube where he has a mustard suit on. I cant tell if it's a bad karaoke version or if it's a work of genius, but i find it mesmerising!?!
It was in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I must of saw that movie 40/50 years ago. I'm 62. I believe this is a Burt Bacharach song.Burt Bacharach has alot of hits that many, many singers have done
Great movie and the scene this song is played is really good. I hardly think of it as a western. I don't remember the prominence of the horns I heard today, which is greatly missing in recent music!!!!
Thank you Rogue, for your excellent reaction and for paying tribute to the late great BJ Thomas! Here's a fun idea for you! Have you ever tried a comparison video to two different artists doing the same song? Both BJ Thomas and Blue Swede did versions of the song "Hooked On A Feeling" and that would be one fun video to see your reaction to these very different versions of the same song!! Keep on doing what you are doing, Rogue - loving your channel so much!!
Thanks for some BJ Thomas...such a talent: I'd highly recommend these others: Try this one: "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" live ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7ynhZxSoYKY.html Backstory/chat then music starts at 2:25 [Hey, Won't You Play] "Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sPXpgz-HgF0.html Chat then song started at 1:04
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid.. one of my favorite movies of all time... Very witty charming and funny... It's not a classic spaghetti western movie.. it won't disappoint !
Academy Award winning song of the Year, from the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid with movie hearthrobs Paul Newman and Robert Redford. You should On Demand it.
Why did they ever stop? I mean if you say you're a GoGo Girl, you should never stop! Anyway, they all looked great, perhaps not super-talented, but very beautiful and, I believe, having a lot of fun.
Yes....that last run us the best part of the song. Both Burt Bacharach & the late B.J.Thomas are legends ❣️I'm with you on the dancer's, maybe one out of 20 had the right vibes ✌️
