In the mid 80"s, you could get a $50 room at the Marriott, that was ok.

They never did that in wrestling in the 80's unless it's a guy like Hogan or maybe Andre. NWA none of that. Even today only the very top performers get that.

Back then 85K was a lot of money, As a sub contractor you can write a lot of stuff off at the end of the year, Anything business related , But a person better be dam good at keeping records and receipts back then,,, I swear I think that is why Jim has such detailed records on pay, Knows how much he earned and on what date and show

1 other thing is that all the hotel, rental car & things like that are tax deductible.

They should have made arrangements so that the valets could stay together in order to save money. Or have both the gals and guys together pay for both rooms to spread the savings.

In the UK in 1985 you could buy a detached 4 bed house for around £50-60k. One or 2 years worth of work would have you set for life

No, she and Tully didn't share a room, but people who saw Baby Doll on TV expected her to be staying at a place like the Marriott. This reminds me of a story Lex Luger told. Back when he was a Horseman, Ric Flair convinced Lex to spend $500 on a hotel room. They were out all night. Lex's head never even touched the pillow. Lex was pissed. Was it really necessary to spend that kind of money? Ric said yes because it was good for the Horseman image and we know Ric lived his gimmick 24/7.
