Street takeovers will continue as long as responding police officers simply do nothing other then give their usual siren warnings for all participants and spectators to disperse... with absolutely zero consequence to the violators.
I live in LA. I don't know how these street takeovers last for so long. LAPD, LA County Sheriffs and CHP are called and sometimes don't arrive for half and hour or more. Meanwhile the street takeover goes on, as shown here in broad daylight with no fear of what the police might do.

Why are those with the worst judgement getting their way? Why are more sane people who are just trying to drive to their destination being held hostage for close to an hour or more by criminals breaking the law without consequence? It’s so unfair. California somehow managed to decriminalize not showing your I.D or drivers license for "undocumented immigrants" which basically means, if immigrants don't have to produce an I.D or a D.L and you can't take away their vehicle because it's their means of providing food on the table than the people taking over these intersections are held to the same standard... cops show up and look at it like, "I'll just break it up because it's not like we can really impound or book these people." And think about it, what are let's say 2 officers or 20 officers gonna do against a crowd of 500 people. Mind you, some of these people are gang bangers, carrying guns, willing to throw rocks and bottles at the officers. Yeah, cops ain't taking that risk.

Unfortunately I know almost all these people in this video. They all went to my high school and were in the special needs classes. When they were invited into normal classes they would all stand up and record videos with there cell phones of us figuring out math problems that made no sense to them. Some of them got in trouble for filming people wipe there butts in the bathroom because they couldn't figure out how to do it properly themselves.

Though I do feel the people only there as spectators, should only be charged with a crime and have to pay fines. When there is a street takeover like this happens, the following needs to respond as many as they can: LAPD, LA County Sheriffs, CHP, LA County probation, LA school police, LA airport police, LA port police, LA park ranger, LA parking enforcement, LA code enforcement, all private security forces in the city.
I have a simpler idea… boxes of nails!!! Whenever the next street takeover occurs, good samaritans nearby must unite and TOSS AS MANY nails possible onto the roadway. Than hopefully they’ll get a flat, and possibly make it much more easier for CHP to pull them over. 🥸

It's hard to curb these problems. I saw a random car doing donuts and upon closer look, I saw that it was a dodge challenger. Damn the guy drove so fast when the officers came they were not able to catch him and after chasing the car for 4 to 5 miles, the cops gave up. I was going through the same route. There were no exits at least in the 12 mile range which means that he was driving close to or more than 100mph. He got out of sight within seconds.

It would be a shame if close ups of attendees faces were posted on a site for potential employers to see since no one wants to hire irresponsible and immature people.
