I tried it last night, and my wife was impressed with the taste. I tried a like bay seasoning with garlic salt. Paired it with some vegetables and white rice. can't wait to make it for others.

Update: I did try this recipe, but I used orange instead of lemons. (Couldn't find a lemon in my neighbourhood to save my life)...it came out very, very good! I love it!...side note: I washed my fish thoroughly.
In the Caribbean we wash and season our fish and meats once taken out of the package. I'm surprised that you took the fish right out and seasoned it without washing 😮.
I made this last night! and it came out fantastic. My husband asked me to make it again. I was worried there wouldn't be any sauce in the bottom of the pan to drizzle over my fluffy rice, but just as she explains in the video, there was. The only thing different for me was that I used the individual seasoning instead of the combined parsley, garlic, and salt seasoning.
My man gets home between 11:30am and 12 noon from dialysis and I bought a lots of tilapia 17 of them and I love how all the tilapia are individual packaged like yours. I'm going to cook that for him and some steamed brown rice, and a salad with romaine lettuce fresh spinach some carrots , red onion and maybe some ranch with some lemon juice crush black peppers :)
You could bake a large baking dish of the Tilapia in the same amount of time as long as the fish fillets are in a single layer. Hope you enjoy the recipe!
Great and simple recipe Ms. Vivky! I have twisted a little, on my version, I decided to broil it instead of baking and because I didn't have the old bay seasoning, I used Badia southern style chicken, which I've tried before and worked well. On top of the butter, I used some minced garlic and seasoning which added even more flavor, and topped with orange slices cause I was looking for a little bit of a sweet touch. The dish was beautiful and delicious, thank you.
I just didn't pay attention to the animal walking across the floor. I actually tried this the same day I watched it. I do this often but I never put lemon and butter on it. Very good. My kids loved it
I had read reviews about Tilapia and how it tastes like dirt. Well, I'm not a fish fanatic, but I grilled some Tilapia for my daughter on the Foreman grill using The Old Bay. She liked it, but couldn't finish two of them, so, not wanting to waste food, I ate the second one. I loved it. I don't know what the reviews were talking about. Connoisseurs, I guess. Now I'm going to have to try your oven recipe! Thanks.
Thank you Looks Delish! Will try cooking it this way next time.... Im sorry for your loss (Maxwell) , I love my pooch dearly and can only imagine the sadness when their gone.
Just wanted to let you know I have a new Westie puppy. His name is Beau ( like a Southern boyfriend). He will be on some of my new videos coming out soon. :)
My fish was so good. I didn't use old bay. I had my own substitutes but I did add garlic salt and lemon. That shit was the bomb. I will be baking my fish more often.
I ended up using smart balance butter with canola oil (only a tsp) divided between 3 tilapia. It was very yummy, I also made mashed cauliflour as a side. It was great, thanks for the vid : )
Looks yummy, will try healthy baking vs my usual frying! Your presentation from to beginning to the 3 min run...well thought out, excellent! After most 10 min or more demo videos.... I check out but not this one...Good job!!!
That's to much butter . Next time try olive oil . Or go light on the butter . One heavy hand slice of butter can make your blood pressure at the medium level of high . At the doctors office .
WoW vickey. So quick. And specially the defrosting... i was wondering where i was gonna find that out. I saw a few other recipes and every1 was like get the freshessstsstttststtt fish possible. But thats just not feaseable. Sometimes i want to cook at 10 in the night... Anyways. Thanx. Now let me go try this out. Im out of butter but i'll think of something.
I'm SO Glad you liked it!!! My family loves this recipe and it is sooooo easy! I like the easy defrost method too because we don't have a lot of fresh seafood here in Illinois!
I worry about the chemicals in spray on cans. What can I use instead? Also, is it unsalted or salted butter? To all those who posted complaints about the spray and the amount of butter... If there is something about a recipe that doesn't suit you, alter it for your preferences. But DON'T sit there behind your keyboard insulting the lady. She's sharing a recipe that she enjoys. Don't respond with such immature and crass behavior. It only makes YOU look bad. Thank you.
How do you get rid of the strong fishy flavor. I can only eat very mild all white fish whithout feeling sick at the oder. I've tried soaking in lemon juice, milk and buttermilk. That strong flavor still comes through. The only thing that has come close to working is to cut all the dark meat out but that seems to be such a waste.
That is a very good question. You don't need to rinse fish, chicken, pork , or any other meat before cooking. Not only does it not get rid of bacteria, it can spread bacteria. Bacteria can be spread to the sink, counter tops and anywhere water splashes in the process of rinsing. What kills bacteria much more effectively is cooking. Many cooks rinse their fish and chickens because their mothers used to. However, the USDA advises against rinsing poultry. Cooking meats and fish to the proper temperature and doneness effectively destroys the most common causes of food borne illness. Fish is not fundamentally different from chicken, so you don't have to rinse it before cooking.
