The third game feels weird... It feels like someone who was gold coming back to starcraft and being placed in bronze, but it won't be permament. You should also know how many games they have played, because they need to "park" in their league, if they are early in their journey (low amount of games played in the season) then they might play like gold, but still be in bronze (for example because they were very rusty/drunk during their placement games)

I slipped today. 20 points. (Still better than Rotterdam). I had one guess that was the same as Demuslim (when Harstem had a better guess) and one guess that was the same as Harstem (when his was the worse one). The other two guesses I was further off than both of them. . . . R1: D3 - 5 points R2: S1 - 5 points (same as Demuslim's guess) R3: G2 - 6 points (same as Harstem's guess) R4: P1 - 4 points

I think Hamster should hide the names in the vs the world replay. Some people might look up the names and know their exact ranks before submitting. Edit: actually it looks like he does, sorry i doubted you hamster

woah, that was the best bronze game of all time

honestly i feel like they overestimate the difference between NA and EU. i've gotten to masters multiple times on both and really the main difference is you don't find as many stupid allinny players that are hard to read into on eu. if both players are macroing then masters down is about the same on both servers. its not until gm that eu is significantly better than NA.

I feel like the key is that when the players are good you look at what they did wrong and move from GM down, but when they are bad you look at what they do right and move up from bronze. If you just look at the mistakes, the lower levels all look the same, because there are just errors everywhere. If you look for good things though that can make it more clear.

Important things to note in that last game: The final fight was only at 12 minutes - quite early to be at such high supply, especially when compared with the 2 minutes before then. Lower leagues do not know what 70+ workers is. The micro was pretty bad tbh, but it wasn't negative micro. Legitimate unit comps. Very good injects. Horrible larvae spendage. TERRIBLE floating. This guy wasn't actually that bad, can't be platinum, do not underestimate him just because of his floating, remember that other zerg in the iiIodis series who macroed well but didn't spend his larvae for no reason? We can't lose to harstem because of this, hopefully he got fooled by the floating.

Maybe a idea for future rankings. Don't count 1 of the games. It makes games that were pretty hard to guess less relevant because of these matches like Game 3.

Really surprised in round 3. The way red got highground vision immediately with a single marine alone when he pushed in to the nat looked pretty competent. Also gave him the benefit of the doubt on macro because he was facing something really weird.

I'm so excited that my replay made it into the series!! I intentionally submitted my failed wall replay thinking it might make it challenging to guess. Glad to see harstem peg it at D3, that gives me hope that I'm heading in the right direction. Game 2, btw.

The harstem vs the world game looked like a silver game where the terran looked up a sick hellion rush build but had no idea how to follow it up

The harassing battery backed "chad rays", the "natural" adjacent corner expansion (which he takes every game), recalling a near full compliment of probes to that "natural" shortly after it pops, persistently only making certain oddly effective unit combos for long periods (little masses of sentry/archon, for example, lol) that seemed to eerily predict exactly what they come up against (an early-ish move out of medivac backed terran bio) and stupidly wipe the floor with them.. and yet instead of just winning, he goes away like a cat playing with a mouse, and leaves the man in play to come back another day so he can do it again and again. The slow, gimpy, unlikely crawl to a seemingly very undeserved victory, generally drawing out incredibly frustrated and triggered nonsense gibbering and swearing and all manner of bad mannering from his sewer slimed opponents. "Styling" is one way to characterize the smell meister's cheezey play. He's made many a tall man cry in frustration with it. People don't know how to respond to what he does and they do crazy crap that makes them look like they're much lower level players than they are. I don't know what level he plays at, I think it's generally high master or low gm, but I may be wrong. But that's the unmistakable work of the infamous Sewer Mermaid.

Right now on EU servers I believe is noone or almost noone in gold and everything on the level of gold (and maybe bellow) is bronze one. I'm gold player myself but this season I'm in bronze one and it says. When I finish the game, it says that my league bracket is 2648 - 2972 whicj is gold1 to platinum 2. Lower leagues are just messed up right now.
