BALANCED SMASH BROS ULTIMATE 

This is the feature that everyone forgets about but it makes for some hilarious stuff. “It makes every character either like Sheik or Ganon” from Little Z pretty much sums it up.

I love how this buffs Ganon by giving him the one thing he does *not* need more of

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

This mechanic is basically "You balance the game if you're going to complain".

you guys should make spirit sets for every character, so that everyone has buffs specific to their character.

That’s probably one of the best balance changes I’ve seen. I forgot about that mechanic.

Fun Fact: Water bottle expiration dates are for the bottle, not the water.

Hopcat is out here secretly developing patches to keep the game alive over the years. Very fun idea that I mess around with at times: Put Pikachu at max buff, turn on spirits, and give him a full grab build (make sure the other player uses a spirit with similar power level but no abilities). Put on the Pikachu Libre skin. Win with *grabs, pummels, and throws only* while the other player is free to use whatever they want.

“Balanced” we say.

Yeah I'd like more of custom smash, it's fun to see the underwhelming characters be usable and it's such a treat to watch.

Costom Balance seems really fun. It's just that no ones tried it because nobody really cared. Kinda like Underdog Boost.

Does anyone else just turn on custom balance without changing things just to have the different character select screen colours?

About time someone bring this feature up, it's actually underrated and turns Smash Ultimate from kinda dull to me meta wise to a more unpredictable and fun game that everyone is actually on even footing, and this video sure has entertained me a lot, I want this to be explored more and see if this can be a part of an extended competitive meta like Ultimate EX or something.

So when me and my roommates first got Smash Bros, we bought it and the Switch from someone who had custom balances on. Isabelle was at the highest buff and we all thought she was OP as hell

This isn't necessarily relevant to Custom Balance, but I recently replayed Adventure Mode on Hard, but I didn't use any of the skill tree buffs. Also, I tried to either use weak spirits or spirits that had less power than the opponent. It was brutal, but I think it helped me improve. For example I HAD to learn whiff punishing since my attacks did like 5% per hit. I'd recommend playing an "extreme" playthrough of Adventure Mode to anyone. It's super hard, but it'll practically condition you to get better at the game.

Seeing poppt play this would be so funny, wish there was a way to hide the changes though

hey hopcat did you know you can ledge cancel pit/dark pit's side b roll getup on the ledge is the best setup I know. roll getup and side b towards offstage and the side b will cancel i do wonder if pit's down air spike actually kills in this mode.

I think only the low tiers should've been buffed because now the low teirs are as good as high tiers without de-buffs but do to the de-buffs the high tiers are worse than the low tiers.

the reason being so many characters are in top tier is simply because smash ultimate is so balanced. so many characters can hold their own against even the worst mu’s, even captain falcon vs pikachu

You should do smash doubles with a twist but the twist is that you are using custom balance changes

A. I'm honestly surprised they finally did it. B. I didn't expect Hop to "balance" smash, I half expected him to just crank all values to the max and just watch the chaos. C. This was honestly really good, and I genuinely hope they screw around with custom balance more in the future. D. Do this again, but crank everyone up 30%. Edit: I forgot to mention this. If you have Ganon's CB at +30%, reverse warlock punch does 63% and kills everyone at 0%, and if you do Kirby's warlock punch with +30% it does like 76% and super kills everyone at 0%.
