Late to the party, but yes it is just another highly-caffeinated energy drink. That’s not a bad thing; caffeine is really the only ergogenic aid that has an immediate effect on exercise performance. The issue with Bang is it markets itself as containing creatine, but fails to acknowledge that creatine left suspended in water converts to creatinine. Basically, the creatine in Bang is inert. I drink it for the caffeine.
@@OkieDokieSmokie You may just be intolerant of caffeine or of any of the artificial sweeteners in it. Caffeine isn't bad, it's all the extra stuff. But if you try to use coffee as the caffeine source, you end up with a minimized response due to enzymes in the coffee.
@@bongeldeboogle3895 all the guys I went to Highschool with who were deploying drank a ton of the them. Constantly, I’m really not sure how they’re not dead yet
@@gotticketsjr2108 my body has ingested more hydraulic fluid and Jet fuel than any aircraft has consumed while flying , Couple bangs , tis but a flesh wound LOL
When I was in the military I was addicted to this stuff. I can’t believe I would kill 2 or 3 of these in a single day for a period of time. When I switched back to normal coffee, it barely did anything for me. Although I remember the massive headache I had from my body not getting the caffeine intake I was used to
I was going through 2-3 bang energy shots a for work. 55 hour work weeks. When holidays were over and I got time off, I went 3 days without caffeine and woke up with a huge migraine. After a good amount of caffeine, it went away after 12 hours. The caffeine reduced the migraine in half, but had that “it’s still there, just masked” feeling.
I drink 25 to 50% of a can during a workout and that's the limit I set. it is very powerful and I really feel it. yes I measure it in a separate container. I never drink out of the can.
Please be careful with your heart. I only consumed about 600mg of caffeine per day along some devil lettuce (has a effect on your heart) along with smoking cigarettes. Now I only smoke about half the cigarettes I did before and quit the caffeine and weed, but my heart rate is still constantly 20-40 bpm higher than normal for my age. I'm only 22 approaching 23 and now do cardio in the hopes of bettering my situation. Coffeine seems relatively harmless to most people, but please don't be as dumb as I was and take care of your heart.
3-4 years ago, before they got big, I tried a bunch of flavors and every one was top notch. I was seriously amazed but I had decided to save money and drink coffee for caffeine. Side note, I drink alot of coffee but the only problem with bang (other than what this video highlighted) was it tasted too good with that amount of caffeine, and I was getting too much.
I've been drinking bang for a minute, purely as an energy drink for my morning shifts. I literally didn't see marketing or anything. Flavor just sounded neat and I switched
Honestly same...I liked the colors, the way they taste, and I was looking for a drink that would give me an insane boost of energy. I found it and genuinely enjoyed it.
The amount of effort put into this is incredible. The graphics and animation and then the research beyond this is fantastic. I'm glad I've found this channel
"After being fired 8 time in 9 years, he gave up on being an underpaid teacher". Yeah, I'm pretty sure the school system gave up on him. He's clearly got some issues.
@@tappajaav to be fair the American school system has rehired sex offending teachers, on a list or not, the Vatican and church system does it, and even the police rehire people fired from one department for genuine murder, so in theory as cucked as Canada is, it’s the safer route
@@spuhgeddy2971 I've also heard that in some states you'll be registered as a sex offender if you so much as pee in public(and "public" is quite broad definition). Hiring/rehiring someone who's peed behind tree in some distant corner of a park doesn't seem very unreasonable to me(this is of course extreme example)
@@tappajaav that is 100% true and it happens all the time, very unfortunate but at the same time you really shouldn’t be doing that anyway lol. Definitely should at least get slammed for public indecency. we’re overall extremely excessive to the point where someone just making claims can leave a permanent mark on your personal record
When I was severely depressed, I would drink 2-3 black cherry vanilla Bangs a day. At the time I thought they helped my depression by giving me more energy, I now realize that the sleep deprivation and increased anxiety harmed me in ways that I can't take back. I was 17
A company should be discredited any time they make unproven bold & even absurd health & performance boosting claims, as that should be an immediate red flag for everyone...
To be honest, everyone where I'm at uses bang and the idea that a bang is supposed to be in any way health is completely foreign here. They kind a just go, 'you're gonna get a heart attack' or whatever.
Another fantastic video Josh! Glad we have you as part of the right side of our RU-vid fitness community, helping to educate people with facts, & exposing lies & deceptive marketing/products. 💪👍
looooool this would be an amazing ad to promote your own enegy line loool also i love how you also pointed out his good points and didn't jsut subjectively ROAST him all the way through The ending sequence was rlly good as well lol
Hello from Sweden! I just discovered your channel and I’m loving it! You are very talented at presenting complicated subjects within the training community and turning them into something simple. I will recommend this channel to my friends and hopefully you have a promising career in front
I’ve drank a few bangs, the way it feels inside the body is clear how sketchy it is. Then you turn the can around and you can’t deny what this thing is. Such a good video and I hope more people see this
I work at a shipyard, I'm writing this as I'm watching, and at work this is the most popular drink at the food trucks during break and lunch. Lol I never knew that it was this much of a meme.
@@jamesostendorf1518 At some point the blames falls on stupid people, instead of teaching people not to be greedy, we should teach how to not be taken advantage of.
As part of the military I never even saw marketing for the stuff, it was just another energy drink to suck down to get through the slog and depression of the day
The Rick and Morty bit at the end earned the sub. The great videos overall will maintain it. Absolutely great channel bro, your hard work is appreciated.
Your videos remind me of James Jani's videos. They are incredibly well made and your voice is informing and soothing at the same time! Really great work!
as an energy drink enthusiast, i would look for different energy drinks to try, lol not the best idea growing up. From my personal experience, bang never felt right drinking it, it felt as if caffeine was literally the only thing in it, compared to other drinks; come to find out, thats true. As i got older, good nutrition, working out and sleep beats this. at the end, coffee was the tried and true means of caffeine. lol
Everytime i drink coffee i get a headach within an hour or so, i think its the pesticides used to grow coffee, bc when i drink energy drinks I don’t get this headache . I also have IBS so im very sensitive to certain additives, and bang makes my stomach hurt like hell.
@@buttheadmcge9400 coffee has other irritants in it as well, it's the plants natural defense mechanism to predators eating it, always gives me the shits, bang energy I can drink without that, the best though is just caffeine pills from Amazon I got nice gel caps with the theanine mixed in them to smooth out the jitters, cheap and effective
It's takes upwards of 150 hours to make just one video. That's dedication. I read this in a respons he provided here in the comments section. I love the comments section. I wish more people ponied up more cerebral insights though.
Just found your channel and instantly subscribed. I’ve been binge watching your videos! Love them. Well made, informative! Thank you for your hard work :)
I don't think so. If you stay off social media you won't have any idea about them. At least I don't. Also I've never heard about this "Bang" energy drink before. Good for me I guess.
To be fair, I'd never tried Bang until recently. But then, I am nowhere near the intended age audience of their marketing. I only decided to give it a go after Greg Doucette and Jonni Shreve did their blind taste test of popular energy drinks, and it came out on top for both of them. They were both very surprised by this, as I don't know that either had ever even heard of Bang, let alone tried it. And yeah, the Pina Colada is pretty delicious. Before this video (fantastic work as always, Josh!), I knew nothing about their insane marketing or ridiculous health claims. And if I did, I probably just blew it off like all the other hyped up nonsense we get bombarded with from the fitness industry every day. To me, Bang isn't anything special. It's just another Monster or Rock Star, except it actually tastes decent.
You're hard work on these videos is very appreciated. We need these snake oil salesmen eliminated... clearly they care more about profits than anyones health or safety,.
To make one video? Whoa! Respect sir. 💪🇺🇸🏋️. My next set of benches will be dedicated to you. If you can put 150 hours into a video, I can certainly squeeze out a couple of heavy duty sets with forced negatives. Thanks
Holy moly! This was worth the wait! Professional level quality and well thought out commentary. Don't have Bang over here so all this was new to me but interesting nonetheless.
I used to drink 2 monsters a day but now have developed a caffeine sensitivity. The amount of caffeine in Bang is guaranteed to give me a full blown panic attack.
this is in relation to the whey protein with 0 protein. Where can you look to find lab results on popular supplements to know what you’re buying is actually what it says?
@@brettjosh I heard the founder started in his basement, which is always respectable. Whether clothes are any good, idk but I know the Shredded Sports Science critique about using like 99% geared up models to promote an unsustainable lifestyle in terms of fitness - but you probably know that already. However, it might be interesting to take a closer look at the production of the clothes, as fashion almost always comes with very unethical and environmentally harming factors. Btw. I love your editing, keep up the great work!
I got tired of seeing Bang everywhere and decided to just try it, and that was a mistake I think. I grabbed one can of Bang and got halfway through it and realized I was basically on another planet. Everything was super bright and I was so shaky I had trouble filling out paperwork at work. I’m no slouch when it comes to caffeine, I drink a ton of it doing 12 hour swing shifts, but this stuff was less caffeine and more cocaine. I haven’t drank it since because whatever is in that concoction was potent and it scared the hell out of me. Also, the Powerthirst reference was great.
I think you had an anxiety attack. I have a decent tolerance, but nothing crazy like when I was in highschool, bang is really good for energy for me, but it's never made me "wired" like preworkouts do
Man I know you probably have heard this a lot, but your work here is awesome. The information, quality of the video, the creativity, and the genuine desire to inform people on this stuff is going to make your channel blow up. Keep up the good work brother!
Keep up the good work man. You’re really good at connecting the ability of storytelling to your artistic ability of creating videos. Use that power with great responsibility! (Gonna recommended this to my friends so you get more subs)
I know people who’ve lifted for 20 years that drink Bang, and I know people who’ve never touched a weight in their life that drink Bang. So, Bang is doing something right.
@@YearsOVDecay1 I like it, I said as much. Sorry you don’t like the word banger. Your probably that crotchety old dude who gets mad about cell phones and kids playing the the street too lol.
