Hey Mae! Is it bad that I thumbs up the video before it even got started?! FANTASTIC tutorial! I really like the style of this one from the music to the editing and I like that you incorporated the product descriptions and styling steps! I also love how you use 1 line for all your styling stages "Shea Moisture" has tons of products to choose from I can't keep up! Donyell Mi Amour tblu B. Hey ladies! I'm not alone, lol! I thumbs up before watching 95% of the time but sadly I've had to renege on a +1nie from a channel invite. The girls still shot was fabulous but then when the video actually came on it was a bunch of "bubble bubble toil and trouble" mess for the background music and what sound like chanting "ooh ahh's" and I was like "oh naw reneging +1 right now!" She might have had the world's best twist out ever but I was not sticking around to find out...I might have needed a witch doctor or that tiny lady from that old Poltergeist movie if I would have viewed that entire video, it was that disturbing! :/

Love the tutorial! Bantu knot outs are my go-to styles! Your hair (before you cut it) grew to the same length mine did every year so in your vid when you were a year natural, my hair was about that length (till it fell out in some places then grew back out relatively quickly), when you were on your second year natural, we had the same hair length again (in most places) and when you were on your third year, we had the same length and now, I'm on my fourth year (my fourth year started on the 14th of this month) so I'm going to check your 4th year length check to see if it's still the same (I'm going to use my hair length before I cut some of my hair off (not a lot) a few weeks ago)

Aaah! The trend is over!! Your hair is about an inch or so longer than mine in your length check during your fourth year natural! However, I don't know if that was at the beginning, middle of close to the end of your fourth year so.....later on during this fourth year, I should be at that length :)

Thanks! It can take some practice. The first time I tried bantu knots, I tried it on wet hair and it wasn't as successful for me. I've learned that my hair needs to be slightly damp or completely dry when setting the knots AND I need to wait till my hair is completely dry before taking down the knots or it is just a frizzy mess. You can also use a hooded blowdryer to set your bantu knots for a smoother set instead of just air-drying. Hope you're able to try again with success!

Hi! No, I haven't, but I ALWAYS finger detangle before using a brush to further smooth and detangle. I really use it for smoothing and evenly distributing product in my hair.
