01:48 This is totally amazing 07:16 Otis uses his strength to discipline Dag the coyote This entire scene is totally the most amazing thing to see in childhood
You gotta love how Daag was afraid of Ben because he’d seen what he could do, but didn’t fear Otis because he had no idea what Otis could do, but in the end, he learned that Otis was just as strong as Ben
Strongest, I think. Survived much worse, seems to have better defense. He was kicking their asses until the dropped their entire fucking species on him
2:26 The thing that scares me is that the coyotes could've killed Otis if they really wanted to and then they would eat all his friends, but the thing that makes me happy is that Dag decided to let Otis live instead.
this is true, but the farm fence defines their space and as long as that fence is up no animal will be harmed inside of it. thats bens rule, and its why otis and company fought so hard to protect the hens even if the coyotes needed food too
@@hypnoticskull6342 Coyotes really don’t hunt- they really just scavenge for food or try to get smaller animals! Like hens for this instance though they can take on cows they’re only strong in numbers and even then they don’t have much strength to do so
David Koechner easily gives the best vocal performance in this movie. He does a great job at making Dag so vile that you want to see him get what he deserves.
@@speedracer2008that movie could’ve been more darker and edgy because when otis nearly punched dag like how when Ben nearly punched dag earlier in the movie if otis brutally killed dag if the movie was like darker and edgier like watership down
I think what makes the climax so strong is the surprisingly good delivery of the more serious lines, like "Put the chick down, Dag" and "Never. Come. Back" and its use of reuse of comedic elements, like Wild Mike, the donkey kicks that can knock people unconscious, Otis's party friends showing up in the Beadys' stolen car, and most importantly the reprise of "I Won't Back Down," representing how Otis is living up to Ben's legacy and how he's finishing what his dad couldn't: taking down Dag for good.
Also, he manages to outdo his father in another way: Ben fought Dag alone, but Otis had his companions by his side to help him through the ordeal. Dag was certainly right about one thing: had Otis been there for Ben, things would have been different. Too bad he didn’t expect that point to come back and bite him.
They're in the mustelid family along with minks, badgers and wolverines. And yeah, they're pretty much the pound-for-pound most dangerous animals on the planet.
Pip said "Iron Man" at 7:37. What adds to this is that Paramount distributed both this movie and the first two Iron Man films (before they went to Disney). This movie has more connections to the Avengers than I thought!
For a kids more the quote "a strong man stands up for himself a strong man stands up for others" is very deep and impacted me from a young age as I often found myself standing up for others
I was angry about that too. Don't get me wrong, Abby's a cool character and I know they wanted to go more for a child audience because you know, Nickelodeon cartoon in the 2000's. They were starting to go for the hip audience a little bit. I still think they should have kept Daisy. They whole thing is weird since Ben is not there, it seems like Otis is boss, but yet he also seems slightly younger and may or may not have a love connection with Abby. I think they could have added Abbey but made her just be a friend and not have a crush on Otis.
I like that it’s a call back to Ben's warning to Dag in the beginning of the film, showing Otis has come full circle and accepted his role as protector.
They could’ve made a point about how they’re obligate carnivores and not genuine villains but it’s a silly cartoon I guess. One of my childhood favorites tho, my friend who died a few years ago would watch this movie with me over and over so sometimes I stop by and watch a few clips
Okay, where to begin with this magnificent scene? 1) I'm 34 years old, and I was pretty much raised on Nickelodeon as a kid, including all of its Golden Age of the mid- late 90's. So, when I say that I think Dag is quite possibly THE best villain ever featured in any Nickelodeon production (With the possible exception of Helga from 'Hey Arnold,' but she's more of an antihero than a villain), that's saying something. I seriously can't believe that's David Koechner, an actor primarily known for doing goofy comedic roles, doing the voice of such a genuinely menacing character. 2) "Put the chick down, Dag." I get goosebumps every time! 3) The reprise of 'I Won't Back Down' playing at the start of the battle is a master stroke! It symbolizes how Otis is channeling Ben's courage to help him fight, truly becoming his father's son. 4) Seeing Otis's buddies join in never fails to make me grin ear to ear. 5) When I first saw this in theaters with a friend, I remember both of us cheering when Miles sicced Wild Mike on one of the coyotes! 6) Peck finally managing to crow was pretty epic, too. Such a great climax, easily the highlight of the movie!
1:25 right when Otis knocks Dag over and I Won't Back Down starts it gave me so much feels. I remembered Ben and how he gave his life to keep the barnyard safe. You will be in our hearts always! Rest in Peace Ben!
story time! Me and my friends were playing outside one day and we had an encounter with these guys who were bullying us and he was attacking one of my friends (this was about 2 years after i first saw this movie) and I thought of that song so I said "A strong man sticks up for himself, a stronger man sticks up for others" so Me and my friends basically had a battle with them, we won and told them to never mess with us again, Saw them last year, told them my name and they ran away XD
Matt Gerrish Sadly, I lost one of my friends, the guys I beat da shizz out of came back on halloween and pushed him into a street, and he got hit by a drunk driver, I saw him last year and returned the favor by pushing him into the street, he recovered and I was accused of murder, but he got arrested for murdering my friend.
Actually, Dag got a good strategy here. He knows he can't fight a cow that's bigger than him up-front, so he sent out his pack first as a distraction so he can find a weak spot to use his "sucker bite" on. That's how he managed to kill Ben.
You realise this is essentially sending a 120 rapist crack head against a 400 pound weightlifer who's dad was basically a fusion of Clint Eastwood and Chuck Norris.
0:39 “meaners gotta eat too” we seem to ignore that, he is right, his species need to eat as well, they are carnivores so they practically have no other choice, besides look how skinny and unhealthy they are!
@@Morbius-Tension I expect them to be bad guys. Which they are. Still, just think: Whoo boy, a cute little kids movie about talking cows and other farm animals! *Enter Dag, who's pretty much a serial killer, also killed Otis' father.* Oh...this got unexpectedly heavy... Barnyard in general, as a movie is a helluva lot more intense and serious than the series.
I love this movie so much, barnyard does tell a very real and genuine story of maturity, standing up for others and learning what it means to be a man. The film really does have good life lessons. This movie no joke had a real impact on me
I love these memories so much. The early 2000s was such a great time to be a child, returning back to these childhood shows especially from Nickelodeon they sneak in so many adult lessons for children. Tenacity, integrity, perseverance, true love, I’m so grateful to understand this now.
3:52 Dag: That's Your Army??😏😏 Otis: Something tells Me you may wanna take a couple of Steps Back Me: And Something Tells me You Have Already Spoke Too Soon Dag
True. While they're portrayed as the villains, you have to think, these guys are carnivores. And the fact they're continuously attacking this one farm just shows that most likely is the only way for them to get a good meal that's meat.
Coach Lombardi Wrong.. First, wolves can’t catch fish as easily as other animals. Also, wolves can’t live off just fish, they are carnivores and need all types of meat to survive
Oh god, I remember this scene well.. I always can't help but think Dag and the others coyotes were in a moment of "Holy Sh*t" when that car came over the top..
