Wish I saw this fifteen minutes ago, when I was trying to perfectly coil my new rope into the bag. I just bought all of my climbing gear today, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can. There is so much to learn in this industry. It's overwhelming to say the least.
Just a thought for anyone looking to buy a bag, DMM makes a 70 liter sized bag that you can fit all your gear and rope into and you carry like a backpack. Love mine.
Excellent ! Thanks for the education and instruction. I never got it quite right, on coiling and uncoiling my ropes and now I know why. Always hated messy rope mess.
My experience is that 3-strand bull rope doesn't simply "flake" into the bag, but constantly tries to jump back out after being stuffed in small, sub-foot, increments. (I'm thinking I know now where the "bull" part came from.) Bouncing the bag is a step I've surely missed.
