This is really cool! I wonder how these creatures evolved to walk on water, and I wonder how they do it, looking at the video with it running, its appears it runs at a high speed at an angle, and that causes it to run across water. Really cool video, you gained a subscriber!

You're quite observant! It's about force and stabilization. Basically each time their splayed feet slap the water's surface upward force helps keep them atop the water. They're also basically tripping across the surface because there are sideways forces at play. Y'know I don't know for sure, but that's likely a big part of it. It's pretty uncommon for different sexes of a species to have differing traits that provide advantages outside of breeding (and in many cases the advantages these traits offer for breeding often cause disadvantages in life - such as with male deer getting their antlers stuck in places)

I must admit, although I am not over religious or closed minded, I found the shouting of JC's name quite off putting. Hearing the narrator say the lizard's AKA name didn't bother me, but the yelling of the name, mimicking swearing was jarring to me. First time watching, it was not the best as an intro, but that's just my opinion/my comment, take it or leave it.

@@a2pabmb2 IKR I agree today it seems trivial to me. But that day, it bothered me I had a very religious upbringing. However, my moods and attitude (as with most open-minded people) can be quite changeable and today I'd probably laugh at their attempt at comedy. Tomorrow, I might not even notice, the next day, the same, maybe the following day it would bother me, oh wait nope not that day either. Maybe on Christmas?

I usually like to send your videos to my animal-loving friends and family, but many of them would be completely turned off by what they would consider bad language. I realize it's a joke in this video, but I can't share it for that reason. Disappointing, to say the least, because Basilisk Lizards are super cool.
