We're looking at doing the Rice Diet (Dr Kempner) for health purposes. I needed an IP rice batch recipe that's more granular. This is perfect. Thanks!😊

Dear sirs Which of the SOS free vinegars would you recommend for: 1)Kabochi squash 2) delicate squash 3 mild vegan chili Please no spicy recommendations, as my taste pallete can’t tolerate the heat/ spicy Hope you hear your valid recommendations so I can order and try

It all depends on your personal taste preferences. If you like sweet things go for the fruit flavors. If you prefer savory the Sweet Heat, Dill with mustard seed, Basil, Italian, simply lemon, curry etc. they are all delicious !

Would you use this technique for any of the white rices? I was surprised on how many varieties there are of rices, that might make for a good video, the types, flavor profile and use for each type of rice 🌾 You did a great job Tom 🎉

The length of cook time may vary on different grains. Jasmine would likely be very similar to basmati. Some varieties are "sticky" by nature and may not be well served by this method.

Thanks. How long do you let it cool before freezing?

Until it’s about room temperature.

It's interesting that you enjoy your rice al dente, and cook it for 4 minutes. I usually cook smaller quantities, but have always cooked Royal Basmati rice for 0 minutes on high pressure, with Natural release, and I even find that using 1 minute can sometimes make the rice a little softer than I prefer. What do you think?
@NutmegNotebook

I would guess that timing makes a difference when dealing with small quantities, I did do a 4 cup batch recently for our grands and it came out ok. Natural release does allow the cooking process to continue for a bit.

Do you use 1 to 1 ratio. The rice cup is only 3/4 of a cup and you added 6 cups water i believe. I want to make rice that is separate from each grain but am wondering if there is more water than 1-1. Thanks

Yes - 1 to 1 the cup I am using is 1 cup, not 3/4

You put hot rice into the plastic container? Are you not concerned about plastic leeching?

I noticed you didn’t wash the rice. Was that by design?

He took the liner with rice and water to the sink and rinsed it three times. 😊

The rinsing and refilling to the same pre - rinse level in the pot is a key bit on info in this video, I did edit out much of that actual rinsing part but the key info is there in the video
