Battlefield 4 Review

Bf4 is an amazing game. This is wayyy better than bf hardline and cod ghosts.

Imagine Star Wars Battlefront with these graphics and Multiplayer.

I gave this game a 7 because it is one of the most broken FPS's I've ever played. But it's gameplay is so solid and immersive, that it keeps it from being a total disaster. Still fuck you EA!

It seems like they completely didn't take story into account. Most games that have bad campaign and good MP get 7.5-8.0, this gets 9.5, when most of multiplayer is the same and levolution are scripted events.

Levolution is just the same as Ghosts "dynamic maps" with just bigger and better scale like e.g the bus falls in Ghosts, the skyscraper collapse in Battlefield (both cannot be changed like which direction is falls etc)

i must give these guys credit, this video was very well done and very well scripted! 10/10!

My favorite battlefield game is bad company but this isn't too bad on ps4 it's intense as hell It deserves 9.5 for every time something badass happens.

Got this for $5 and so for the campaign is amazing on my 360

Pretty obvious EA paid them. This game is FAR from a 9.5. This has to be the WORST BF in the franchise.

I must admit I've never even played the pc version and I've always imagined that an extra 40 players on top of consoles 24 would make for a nice busy game on the bigger maps but not so busy to make it unplayable. I must agree, 64 vs 64 would be absolutely manic, even on the biggest maps. :) on another note, modding a server to add an extra 64 players is quite an impressive mod, I'm impressed :)

Finally someone who reviews a game and doesn't compare it with COD. Respect.

Just make sure you DON'T get this to ps3 or 360 (it's garbage). Ps4 and or X-bone are awesome tho. The comparison are really, night and day.

cod ghosts 7.0 vs bf4 9.5

I have been playing since Battlefield 2. BF3 was so different, I don't get how it's still in the same series. 4 is a glorified 3, but it brings back BF2 jets and more demolition.

Looks sick & I'm going for bf4 after kz4 online seemed weak bc it doesn't even show your k/d ratio after a match, just ur total score ugh. Kz4 still FUN tho but I want competition to matter. Kz3- greatest MP of all time!!

The funny thing is that we only know that they've shipped games for 1 billion (so they say atleast) to stores. How many copies that actually get sold is what I wanna know.

Oh but they were smart this time around... They made it so that there's 3 guns that can only be unlocked through finishing the singleplayer on different endings. Among which is the M249 SAW, which rips people apart like they're paper.

This game is really fun, fresh, and the real deal... my only question is WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU REMOVE THE PARTY SYSTEM, DICE?! That makes no sense! There is NO problem with having a party system. Playing online with friends makes games more fun; and usually when people mostly turn on their mics. I mean really DICE, like you're joking, like it will be put into the game right? ...Sarcasm in all seriousness.

If I buy this on ps3 can I buy it for 10 euros on ps4 anytime or have I to buy it before a certain date?

What I don't get is why battlefield doesn't do the whole halo slash gears of war Co op campaign thing but on a much larger level and grander scale...I'd take the large open world style sandboxes from the multi player attach them to a loose story and the expected over top set pieces from the single player and let anywhere from eight to sixteen people have at it, taking up whatever role or class with whatever weapons they wanted or felt comfortable with etc...he'll I could fit a sort of limited death match into the campaign as well by letting other players be elite enemy soldiers and squads tasked with preventing their opponents from completing the objectives etc (Like demon and dark souls) For the story I'd probably go with the whole fictional documentary style thing with a narrator...like those prolific world war 2 and Vietnam programs on the history channel or something, zero emphasis on individual "hero" soldiers and cliché macho protagonists etc, again using world war 2 as my basic example...I'd give a brief back story in the opening credits showing how the large scale conflict is going to start then drop the players right in as the first opening shots are fired eventually escalating and evolving right up to the final days...africa, the D day landings and normandy drops, the taking back of France, destroying V 2 rocket installations, the battle of the bulge etc right up to the invasion of germany and the final assault on hitlers bunker (that never actually happened)...These are just examples of course that most people are more than familiar with so they can follow and understand what I mean, I think we'd all want a modern fictional world war 3 style scenario obviously...but for gods sake don't go with the Russians china or some backwards ass under equipped third world shit hole full of brown people...do a alternate history or world or something instead...here's a risky and insane thought how about they make the Americans the bad guys and aggressors, what a far flung stretch Right? then have the players be a international group of soldiers from the E.U or working for the U.N or something...and another thing stop going to the nukes and bullshit science fiction E.M.P devices for ya escalation...try chemical and biological weapons for a change instead, try to create some interesting gameplay and scary set piece moments from that, ya know gas masks and hazard gear etc maybe a city or town turned into a graveyard with zero collateral damage done to the infrastructure so the players still have plenty of shit to blow up... Sorry for going on there a bit...but these are my thoughts and it's just an opinion from someone who stopped playing these types of games a while ago...So what do you guys Think? PEACE

Can anyone say whether it's worth me purchasing this game still? Are the servers still well populated on Xbox One and have bugs such as the net code issues been fixed at all? I played the Hardline Beta and enjoyed it back when that came out but I was thinking of getting Battlefield 4 as it seems to be preferred by many players and is much different from other FPS games I own

1:30... super noticeable pop in. Then "Who are these VIPs?" "They're very important people" Who wrote the dialogue for this game? A 12 year old? How does it have a crap story and main campaign and still get a 9.5? I get the multiplayer is fantastic but that's not the only element involved.

do matches load fast? bad company 2's match loading was horrendous. it took over a minute to get in a game from the moment you hit "join game"

Finally, a review this week that is not COD!

The hell, Ign, Gamespot and Gametrailers were in the same squad.

BF3 has its problems, as do all games, but it's perfectly playable both casually and competitively. And mind you I'm not even talking about the PC version, and that's better than my downgraded console version is pretty much every aspect.

Killzone shadow fall is the game you want for single player, battlefield 4 for multiplayer because bf4 is only 4 hours long Questions?

Do you really want to compare the requirements for making a 6v6 players multiplayer match on a minuscule map run smoothly to the requirements for making a 32v32 players on gigantic maps with full infantry and vehicle (land, sea and air) warfare and complete destructibility of the map? Give me a break. Besides, give it a couple of weeks and DICE will already have fixed everything that you mentioned.

I am a bit disappointed though , no mention of the SERIOUS kick from server issues?!It ll be fixes soon probably but still..

Pretty sure EA still get their money's worth off multiplayer. Since then, 2 other bfs, 4 madden games, 2 star wars, 3 baske... nvm. In 2018, this is the best ea game since 2013.

DICE didn't fix anything in BF3? That just shows that you probably never played the game, or at least not enough. BF3, like BF4 right now, was a complete mess at launch, almost unplayable. But after DICE patched it up it became much better, and if you play it right now you can have an amazing experience. I expect nothing less for BF4.

9v9? thats some next level shit cod fanboys must be real proud, mind you in my experience on black ops 2 9v9 matches cause huge lag and frame rate issues on consoles, im not sure about pc, but I couldn't play 9v9 if my life depended on it. and you're right, same shit every match. battlefield on the other hand is dynamic. people can play the game how they want to play it :)

Oh and what about unstable of this game? And absolutely none support from EA? That doesn´t sound familiar for you?

Bf 3 is better than cod takes more skills. But when I used to play cod. I will say this, it was addicting. But it got old quick... it's too easy to be a beast.... but I just prefer bf over cod, if you like cod good for you play what you like. And I'll play bf... although I'm not sure about bf4.... I mainly play team death match. And from what I read it's lacking so I'll just b e looking out for other games

Dawnbreaker is broken on xbox 360... Freezing almost every game on that map. I just quit when I see it now. Other then that and the campaign erasing my data, it is a good game.

I'm looking to build a squad on ps3 platform which will be moving to ps4 after ps4 release day, I need a good sniper, good support and good assault and a good engineer, all mature players, older than 18, all english speaking, all with microphones, preferable in the uk or eastern US everyone must play their role, eg snipers must spot and laz and be able to shoot, assault must heal, engineers must anti tank. I'll be online fairly regularly, most nights from 8pm to 11pm GMT,

2019 and BF4 is still the best...

At the time this review was released the game was so bad you could not get through a match without crashing. oh and not to mention how unbalanced everything was and the very poor map design meaning an aa could shoot from their spawn right into the enemy's. The Netcode has not been fixed but had a band aid applied. I got banned from a server because i was accused of hacking/aimbot as the bloke spectating me said i shot him through a wall on his screen. On my screen i was around the corner looking at him? This was yesterday! The game is okay but many things are still wrong and will not be fixed.

I don't even like Battlefield, or COD, but ll make a blanket statement. This game completely SHITS on ghosts

Sometimes I just wonder that do these reviewers get paid or do they simply lack critical thinking. 9.5 is too much for a game that STILL has netcode issues and lags. Also the map design is worse than bf3. Even with its problems it's still one of the best next gen games out there. I'd give it the score 8,5.

CoD ghosts has the exact same ending as MW2.

Bf4 is definitely best game of 2013. Better than that stupid cod ghosts. I bought on new Gen consoles and it's amazing. But this game does not deserve a 9.5 by 10. It should be a 8 out of 10 because before I had so much proplems and now ea patched the game, 9.1 by 10.
