Part 2/2. The Battlefield Line Railway's 'Steam Gala' held over the weekend of the 11th, 12th and 13th April 2014. This footage was filmed on the 13th April 2014.
The Battlefield Line is a preserved standard gauge railway in Leicestershire. It runs for 5 miles between it's northern headquarters at Shackerstone to its southern terminus at Shenton, a distance of 5 miles. It has one intermediate station, Market Bosworth.
Locomotives from the resident fleet included; GWR 2884 Class No. 3803 and Aveling and Porter 2-2-0WT No. 9449 'The Blue Circle' (at Shackerstone Station giving brakevan rides). Visiting the line; GWR 4575 Class No. 5542 (visiting from the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway) and SECR 'P' Class No. 323 'Bluebell' (visiting from the Bluebell Railway).
Locations include; near Congerstone, near Shenton, near Far Ccton and Shackerstone Station.
We begin Part 2 at Shackerstone Station with a variety of movements from No. 9449 'The Blue Circle' (on brakevan rides), and of No. 3803 and No. 323 'Bluebell' on passenger services.
A shot is then taken near Congerstone at a farm crossing of No. 323 'Bluebell' heading bunker first with a passenger train towards Shenton.
Near Shenton No. 323 'Bluebell' is seen crossing over the railway bridge heading back to Shackerstone Station with a passenger working.
Near Shenton; No. 5542 is seen heading to and from Shenton Station with a passenger working.
The last two shots of this video are of No. 3803 at Far Ccton and Shenton with a demonstration freight train.
