@@bigmansir3745 Well, it was a bad joke! Bad in how lame it is. Jokes do not automatically shield you from how bad the joke is nor does it shield you from criticism!
@@gispyaverager1777 do you mean your not watching his videos because he called his first video trash because he didn't like it, like a lot of RU-vidrs do, and told you to watch the new version? Seems reasonable.
It's funny how when he's around Megatron he's this sniveling coward but when he's out fighting autobots he's this menacing badass that doesn't mess around
That's pretty much Starscream to a tee, and finally letting Charlie Adler work without a filter brought out that aspect masterfully. It personally makes up for the fact he's hardly treacherous, because Primus forbid we focus more on the titular robots enough for them to be able to write a plot where Starscream could display treachery.
@@khalilsart8189 Is that the case in the Bay movies? That sounds about right. I just thought I remembered him to be Megatron's chief lieutenant in G1. Maybe I'm misremembering.
@@harrisonblock even in G1 Megatron's number 1 soldier is shockwave. I hate to break it i love starscream character like how he's ready to betray megatron at anytime he wants to but the reason is Shockwave is Megs number 1 because of Shockwaves loyalty and his pure strength to match megatron in combat! There's a rumor that the only Decepticon can beat Megatron in combat is Shockwave
@@ZACKRISTIC Yet he was clearly besting them, and that wasn't even his task in the battle lol He was in charge of taking out the human's air reinforcements
@@calebporter3735 the reason he lost was he was too cocky. It’s actually very accurate to his character. He was just messing around with Sam until he got hit in the eye. Let’s not forgot the whole point was that humans learned how to defeat them. Getting a few hits in is nothing.
@@truexenith8596 I agree that they could use a little less G1 pandering, but I think this change was for the better. One of the bigger criticisms of these movies was that the decepticons really all blended together because they were all grey blobs that lacked any individuality. I think starscream, one of the few somewhat memorable characters, would have had the same fate had they kept it the same way he was in the first movie.
@@davidjavier2152 transformers 1 came out in 2007 and the 2nd movie came out in 2009. But youre still right cuz nowadays the cgi in modern movies suck and are boring due to how much theyre used
Starscream was one of the only characters in Bayformers that actually felt like their character. That's more than I can say for most of the characters...
One of the most iconic Decepticons in Transformers, gets only a total of 9 minutes 20 seconds screen time in the whole series. I like this design, wish they would've given him more screen time.
I Think its cause that was not part of his mission in the battle. He was supposed to handle the air force so they aren’t a problem. But i guess he just happen to run into sam, ratchet and ironhide and felt like shooting something
@@Lu1zF3l1pe He knew that it was a risk trying to kill them, since one shot from Ironhide would be all it takes to make him vulnerable, and since he’s smaller than the two of them he’d be picked apart. At this point they were winning anyway, so they wouldn’t have enough time to repair and get back to fighting. His main goal was to simply take away any protection Sam had, and he did so without taking any damage
@@sammy4282 what? Where did you take one Ironhide shot would make him vulnerable!? Bro, he was hit by both. Starscream is bigger, stronger, faster and has more fire power than the 2 together. He was clearly winning there
This reminds me of that one edit of Starscream doing this exact transformation and then as the stereotypical Michael Bay transformers movie outro starts to play it perfectly cuts to the video of one of the planes hitting the twin towers
Y'know, I always like this Starscream. He wasn't a bumbling idiot, and while he may have plotted to kill Megatron in the past, he never did so in the films. The reasoning is simple: In real life, Megatron would have torn him to pieces. There would be no second chances, not like the cartoons. That's what I really enjoyed about him. Starscream was smarter then he let on. On an additional side note, his drool issue made me think. Transformers aren't created with any defects as far as I know in the Baysverse. You can see, on the left side of Starscream's face, there are a variety of scratches and small dents. This is likely because good old Megatron was abusing his number one, and Starscream can't speak without drooling because of the damage done to his face and dentary plating. Nice touch, Michael Bay.
But this starscream could easily kill megatron without any of the other decepticons finding out if regular f22s can cripple megatron and almost kill him starscream can Worse. And at the end of two he could have just killed megatron but didn’t why do people always say he’s treacherous he’s not the character from your cartoon
@@MogusMasterSaikawa22 there are ways to be traitorous. Yeah i dont like it when people try and associate him with old stuff but leaving your master to die so that you can take command of the cons in rotf is cheeky lol
@@ilikepigeons6101 but he didn’t he literally tried to save megatron and there was no time left and he says in rotf he left to ensure the decepticons survival with the hatchlings who he seems to care for a bit considering his concern when megatron pushes him into them
Starscream seems to be the only Decepticon who chooses to speak Cybertronian rather than English. That's what I love about his character. I also loved how this version of him stayed loyal to Megatron. Best version of Starscream imo.
They gave Starscream some of the best sounds in the series. The transformation squeal, the low humming noise when he's walking, that engine screech, and the cybertronian voice. All that shit is peak.
Yeah that scene is missing, but he didn't fly to Cybertron, Starscream flew to one of Saturn's moons because the Fallen was there in the wreck of the Nemesis...
I had his Voyager class toy from the second movie. The cybertronian inscriptions all over him look so cool. I need to get the third party masterpiece version, it's literally my favorite version of the character but I've loved starscream since G1, when he shot his own foot in the movie to escape the transforming city I agreed completely, survival at any cost. And his immortal spark in most continuities reflects that motto.
5:40 what I actually love about the bayverse is that with most of these transformers you cant exactly get an idea of what their face actually looks like, like sure starscream looks like this but you cant exactly make out where his mouth or nose is and that is what makes them so alien, I find that the designs of the bayformers facinating than the normal humanoid G1's, sure they are original but so what? most of them look humanoid and made by humans which is not the story at all, they were made by another race. The alien tattoos gave starscream another look I liked compared to the flashy coloured red and white. Even though he is the most cowardly decepticon in the bayverse, they managed to still make him look badass in most scenes
All this can be seen as a flaw to the live action. But i disagree. The transformers were always robot aliens. Sooner or later there's going to be show or movie that actually shows what they truly should look like. So yeah i agree with you, well said
I really love how the writers made Starscream anything but useless in the trilogy. Seriously, there isn't a single doubt as to why he's second in command, from taking out the power of megatron's holding cell, to tearing bumblebee's legs, singlehandledly owning Ratchet and mfcking IRONHIDE, and last but not least destroying many raptors. And that's just the first movie. In every sequence he keeps getting better. the only flaw was his death.
If Blackout wasn’t killed, I think he’d of been a better second in command. Just as capable, less of an insufferable kiss ass, and way more loyal in general. But with Blackout dead, Starscream it is.
I think he is getting worse after every movie. Like all decepticons. They were a real menace in the first movie but after that all autobots became mary Sues
Love how clear it is how invincible he is in air combat and less in ground battles, wish I could see him leading a bombing run or in an air battle with Optimus
@@comradedogo he was the best decepticon in the forest battle megatron only landed a single kick on optimus because starscream was beating him up first and megatron true to his cowardly pathetic self grabbed optimus from behind. when he died to sam was absolute dogshit don't bring up that moment as if it's anything other than them retconning his character from the first two being the only decepticon doing anything
If only to add on to his legendary reputation in the air, look no further than the DoTM game. Whilst to be fair, all the playable characters kick ass as one man armies but paying closer attention to Starscream in this case, in his mission, took out 3 Aerialbots, Stratosphere and what I assume either Aerialbot drones or human piloted fighter escorts. So there you go. And I agree with @MogusMasterSaikawa22, Starscream seemed like the one that did, really the most damage to Optimus before Megatron killed him.
Imagine, being one of the most strongest Decepticons, being Megatrons right hand man, being an expert at air combat, being able to beat Ironhide and Ratchet with ease. And you get killed by a fucking human.
Starscream in the first movie was absolute perfection. Menacing, merciless and just all around badass. He had truly displayed why he was Megatrons number one in the first movie. It just sucks that they couldn't keep him the same throughout the series, what could've possibly been the best character had become wasted potential
Why is starscream running in 2:41 always so cool to me? Like there is just something about the way he runs that makes him look so fast and agile but still feels like a giant robot, and its just so awsome
0:09 will always be my favourite, not only for his coolness but for the side effects of his action, he had a plan, a clear one, alla the desepticon operation in the first movie was planned and executed PERFECTLY, they just had sam in the way, if he would have sold those glasses during his presentation at school they would have won
Starscream had to take out the aircraft and gain air superiority, Blackout was supposed to keep the Autobots occupied, Brawl occupied the humans and Bonecrusher...I don't know actually, maybe stall Optimus(wich he did succeed in) and then Barricade...my only criticism...he just disappeard after the highway scene
1st movie: takes down the medic and the weapon's specialist can in a few seconds and goes for more After the first: g1 Edit: damn, I tried to make a joke and most of y'all really taking it as if this is a political discussion with a bunch of 40yr olds
@Sceptile UX chill the heck out dude.... i'm just gonna say that no matter what, Bay will never be able to please his fans even if he does the right thing, cause his haters will always find an error to bash, even the smallest one.
Yeah. I like the typical G1 Starscream personality we see utilized in most other versions of him, but if they started with this more serious and focused Starscream, I think it would've been better if they had stuck with it for the the rest of the movies, instead of just having serious Starscream in the first, then immediately making him typical G1 Starscream in the second. I mean, he got roasted several times by Megatron in the second one because of his incompetence, even losing an arm, while in the first one he crippled Bumblebee and almost killed Ratchet and Ironhide in the same encounter.
I've always wondered if they had scenes of the Decepticons speaking Cybertronian in Transformers Prime like in the first bay movie. More scenes like that would have been cool to see because that show has actual personalities for the Decepticons whilst also maintaining their intimidation in the first few episodes.
@@greenweeaboo8924 Yeah, me too. It's just not possible though. I just got finished living out 4 years of my life hoping for that reality. There's still the possibility of a college protagonist, but what's the point?
I love how he’s actually an incredible warrior who has earned his position as second in command. Also love that air defense is his responsibility, and he does it really well. Any time he’s near autobot’s he’s a force to be reckoned with
Really love when he speaks Cybertronian, especially in DOTM at the part where he's in space about to shoot down the Autobot ship. Although I think the only part missing is from the Last Knight, when we see his head.
I actually really grew fond of this version of the character. Hoping that when he makes his reboot debut he still has some of the aspects of this one. The whistling transformation sound and jet engine noises. His cybertronian speaking, and his sycophantic relationship with megatron or his duplicity towards him. Maybe even get the same voice actor
Why does the Decepticons come of as the good guys in these movies? They just want some food for their babies while the Autobots never seem to do anything than blow stuff up
@TheComfortablyNumb91 for all it's problems, age of extinction looked like it was trying to say something with the way the transformers are being killed by a state sanctioned death squad and their corpses are being exploited by a corporation. Plus the troops™️ weren't the center of attention.
Starscream’s death was just sad, it must be terrifying for him. Not being able to see and knowing that a bomb that’ll blow up any second stuck in his eye must’ve sucked
It will always be my head canon that the missile that killed Elita came from him. In the very next shot he’s standing exactly where the missile came from.
Well I have two fun facts for you sir: 1)In the theatrical version of the film it was Chromia whom was shot and not Elita-1. 2)All three sisters lived but Elita-1 was killed by Shockwave a few years later.
I know starscream is supposed to sound mischievous and cowardly like he has been since the 80s, but I really like and prefer his deeper, more menacing voice from TF1 and the TF:rotf ds game. It suits him better imo. Edit: also to add on, Tf1 starscream is by far his most superior version. Menacing voice, takes out a whole squadron of F22s, and 1v2s Ratchet and Ironhide without breaking a sweat. He fell off hard after that
