I love how jetfire's one wish in his life was to see a living prime. When he sees optimus, he sounds so happy. Then he immediately sacrifices himself to help him since his bucket list has been completed
Also a space boi, stalker, broke the world record, and went to war

@@AndrewGuns And made the Russian air defense go mad for sometimes lol. He was too fast in his youth if he was younger in ROTL, he would have never got damaged by Skorponok, dude was too quick.
I just hated the fact that nowhere in the movie did they honor Jetfire. Immediately after the final fight prime just discarded the armor like it was junk. No thanks no nothing, kinda shame.
Like Jetfire said himself: "take my parts". They're just parts. The true gift is Jetfire giving his energon spark (that blue thing). So technically, Optimus keeps Jetfire's legacy within him forever. Also, before this movie Jetfire had history fighting side by side with Optimus. Prime would know how to honour him.
“My father was a wheel, the first wheel! Do you know what he transformed into?” “No…” “Nothing! But he did so with honor!” That might actually be the best line in any of these movies.
That line and the line Simon said to him in Egypt to shut him up and make him tell a coherent story is probably two best dialogues in the whole franchise. One was genuinely freaking hilarious and the other one make sense.
Jetfire's story in this was glorious. He may be old, but he was still a badass, and in the end sacrificed himself so that Optimus could have the power he needed to save them all, while at last feeling he did something _good_
@@M.Aaltonen Yup. I'm just gonna say it: Jetfire was a great Autobot. *R I P Jetfire, Veteran Autobot - He wouldn't let being a Decepticon, better yet his age get the best of him, especially his devotion to Optimus Prime.*
i can only imagine how strong jetfire was in his prime. he single handedly took down 2 decepticons in the span of 30 seconds and barely moved when the fallen arrived, as opposed to everyone else who went flying back. he’s truly such a cool character
@@bienlazarte6526 he see error in the Decepticon leader so he switch side But he still have honor in Decepticon thats why Decepticon badge still in there
I find it very fitting that Jetfire was an SR-71. Old, outdated, quite easily beaten when pitted against newer machines, but still a force to be reckoned with, having more badassery in a single wingtip than anything else their entire airframe. Sucks that he wasn't at all honored for his sacrifice.
Something to note is that currently, no other manned aircraft in history has surpassed the SR-71's sustained top speed even to this day. Other jets may be able to go faster in short bursts, but the Blackbird is STILL the best at it's job. It's just been retired because its purpose is no longer needed now that surveillance satellites and unmanned aircraft can do its job for cheaper and less risk. The Blackbird was the perfect machine for its job; its job is just no longer needed.
One thing in your comment, even newer machines still can't get near the Blackbird. Years after it was first introduced to the world and years after it was retired, nothing could still get near to what it achieved.
@@jocelynuy2922 Why would a reconnaissance platform be replaced with a bomber? It wasn't. The SR-71 was retired due to costs and the lack of a need for a mach 3 recon platform since the USSR already fell. Its job could be supplemented by spy satellites and the still flying U-2 spy-plane. NASA used them for a bit after the Air Force stopped, for high speed research but eventually they did all of their jobs. The SR-71 wasn't offensive, it used defensive countermeasures and its speed to evade enemy missiles and wasn't built to bomb targets. I believe you're talking about the B-2 which has around 21 planes currently in service and 1 crash during its past 30ish years of flight. It is a bitch to fly, having to rely on FbW systems to keep in stable flight but that really shouldn't discredit it from its shear lethality. During operation enduring freedom, multiple B-2s took off from Whiteman AFB, headed westward for an extremely long distance, bombed targets in Afghanistan while being undetected and headed back to US mainland. It's such a good platform that a direct successor, the B-21 is planned to replace the fleet by around the 2030s.
I feel he was honored in his dying wish, and honored off camera. My headcannon was that an autobot funeral was held, with a full 21 gun salute after they got back to base. They buried Jetfire's spark in the sea, just off the california coast at sunset; a glorious and beautiful death for an honored warrior and veteran.
i loved jetfire's reaction to getting nearly his entire torso ripped off "i'm too old for this" he's one of the most badass deceptacon/autobot i've ever seen even knowing that he has to give himself up so prime can win and finish the fight, it's just a shame right after his death happened all the autobots just moved on
That's why he gave Optimus his parts...so he can live on inside of Optimus spark. That's why he has them in dark of the moon. It's a memory of jetfire and him giving him ultimate power and the ability to go airborne.
@@subjectc7505 now I can't un imagine what the conversation that op had with either the wreckers or que Op: yes do it like that and make it look like this. Que/Wreckers: you really want me/us to base it on a body part of a diseased autobot we didn't even meet?? Op: *D I D I S T U T T E R*
@@johnfrancomiguelfernandez4811 Revenge of the fallen and AOE Megatron was dead parts as well. That's why he was go chunky and miss matched in revenge of the fallen, but look pretty badass lol.
i love how the movie glosses over the fact that Jetfire *effortlessly* takes out a deception i forget the name of, and one-punch-mans the Scorpion, then when he gives Optimus his power it lets him basically walk over both a character whose supposed to be his equal and one whose supposed to be unstoppable. Jetfire OP
Yeah, that's to be expected though from a Transformer who literally towers over all of them, except for Starscream possibly. It transforms into a Blackbird after all.
@@misspurdy27288 While Jetfire is easily my favorite transformer, I'm not sure if it's because of how powerful Jetfire is or because of how goddam weak Megatron and the Fallen are. I find it hilarious that Megatron ends up doing more in the fight than the Fallen and Megatron did jackshit.
So as an old grandpa, he still killed two highly dangerous decepticons in about 15 seconds. If Scorponoks drills weren’t so powerful, he’d punt the fallen into the sun himself.
No...I mean he already "old" Even if he still survive after defeating 2 deception without scratch I think he still, far away from defeating fallen But on the prime age back old days, maybe he could draw with fallen 👀🔥
from seeing some comments on this vid, the guy was 55 feet seems like. in comparison with optimus that is only 30 feet. while the rest are even smaller ..
he was also more stable everyone else was on their feet so they got knocked off balance. Jetfire was on his knees and hands so his center of balance was closer to the ground. It's harder to knock someone or something down in such a position.
You can hate this movie, you can hate Michael Bay, but you cannot hate Jetfire and every scene with him. He's one of the coolest characters in this franchise next to Ironhide.
@@finlandguy427 maybe. I'm thinking it may have been his first time cause of his initial reaction when Sam mentioned Optimus Prime before he witnessed his resurrection.
Jetfire is my fav autobot on revenge of the fallen, just seeing how badass it is and how well designed he is.... Its sad how optimus just throws jetfire’s parts away like if it was thrash
That's his way of showing Honor, and it was no need for it. Because the fallen was killing and the engery needed was gone. But jetfire still lived on until Optimus discovers his a knight.
I heard that Optimus took his Spark(the blue orb he rips out of himself to suicide), which is what allowed him to live - he basically gave Optimus a heart transplant after The Fallen stole the Allspark from him. So, in a way, Jetfire lives on as long as Optimus does.
Revenge of the fallen is my 2nd favorite movie from Bay besides the very first one. They progressively got worse with each movie but the first 2 are certified bangers imo
I like to imagine he was a match for Megatron physically, but probably isn't packing a weapon with the same punch as that fusion cannon. I mean, for weaponry we've seen his walking stick, battle axe, and a wrist-mounted missile that misfired due to his age and lack of energon.
As a fan of all the transformers animated series I wanted Jetfire to have a much bigger role in the movie universe. I think he is the only autobot who can fly and the jet convoy is the most badass version of Optimus
"Let show me show you how we brought the pain in my days" * stomps off mix masters head even though he is SUPER old* Was this dude a war machine or is he cracked?
Jetfire has got to be my favourite character in general. He chooses a very badass plane to transform into, being able to literally fly to unobtainable heights and speed. Has an amazing beard and grumpy attitude. Centuries of combat experience. The guy is literally just as qualified to rule the deceptions as much as Megatron does. Making him choose to side with the opposing war members by forgetting and abandoning him was the worst mistake the deceptions had done.
I hate that after Optimus combined with Jetfire for the final battle with Fallen and Megatron, they did nothing to honor how he sacraficed his life to end Fallen once and for all, Optimus just shaked off the armor like it was junk. The Jetfire armor had real potential in the later movies, and if Jetfire didn't sacrafice himself, he would've had potential as well. But alas, Jetfire only appeared in 1 movie.
@@c4tb0mb Also, he laid down his parts in Egypt, the area in which the battle took place that Jetfire would feel like a hero for once in his life, taking down some Decepticons and giving up his own life at the end. I see it fitting that's where his body lay. Not to mention the Blackbird jet engines from this powerup would be used again when The Wreckers built Optimus his jetpack in Dark of the Moon.
That was his burial, I'm guessing jetfire was one of those who can stop the fallen. So the engery he had left was giving to Optimus,. So everything was still jetfire but in Optimus hands.
2:29 his expression gets me everytime And the added "dammit" I think may have been because he knew This jetfire is the best Need to see more of his background history
You know, I just realized how absolutely enormous jet fire is compared to the others in this, even on his knees he was still a large amount taller than most of the autobots and even the fallen
From reading some older comments, and doing a wiki search, he was around 55 feet. almost 17 meters. while Optimus was only 30 feet . 9,1meters. the other autobots were even smaller
They said fuck killing him and ending the war and create more peace let's impale him to make him sleep and commit sewerslide to keep this thing away from him
I like how he reveres the primes so much and yet when sam says the last prime died for him Jetfire didn't react in anger about his godlike being dying for an insect in cybertronian terms.
doing/casting him for that 2 second role was so dumb when they should`ve casted him as bumblebee topspin dev-con an autobot or decepticon protform crackcase or hatchet and/or a human solder during the final battle that was part of epps` team that doesn`t get killed off so like cast him for some speaking line /movement than someone in the blink and you`ll miss" character list
I'm imagining the reactions of the museum staff when they come back the next day, the biggest stealth jet they have has vanished, the hangar doors busted open and some of the smaller exhibits are damaged.
Loved how they magically went from the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center @ Chantilly, VA to the Davis-Monthan Air Force Boneyard @ Tucson, AZ when they stepped through the hanger doors. All without using Jetfire’s teleportation.
You can only imagine what the other Decepticons were thinking when Jetfire crash landed and took one of them out with no trouble even though he's maybe tens of thousands of years old. They probably have old war tales of Decepticons who defected to the Autobots told amongst the ranks then suddenly the legendary Jetfire, who served the equally legendary Fallen thousands of years ago, is here in front of them taking them out!
He’s basically an old veteran Like he said at this part 6:15 He’s basically talking about his days in his prime, he musta been a unit in days of battle
apparently he could go toe to toe with some of the original primes. of course, he wouldn't win, but he would put up a hell of a fight. he personally served the original primes since the beginning.
If an SR-71 could talk, he would prolly be as old and as grumpy as this decepticon :) The fact that they used this plane is ... just delicious. It adds to the ethos of the plane, and on the other hand gives Jetfire a personality. They just work together so well.
“My father was a wheel, the first wheel!" One of the most useful Transformers in history. Now we have cars, bicycles, wagons, dollies and airplanes! First of all, wheels can get you from place to place.
It took me a while to get this information but I found out the distance of how far he warped! The museum that he was in is called “The Museum of Flight”. It’s in Seattle Washington. Since I of course cannot pinpoint the EXACT location of WHERE they warped in the desert, so I searched up the Egyptian Pyramids and found a photo from Wikipedia of a shot of the Pyramids of Egypt that was taken in Giza, Egypt. I took that information and calculated the distance from Giza, Egypt to Seattle, Washington and found that the distance that Jetfire warped is approximately 6,842 miles. For an old Autobot/Decepticon, he definitely still has fight in him!
that sacrifice he made has changed everything and was the reason how earth was saved, the autobots and everyone all around earth will forever be in his debt jetfire died like a true autobot
