A little bit of Balder gameplay.
As you might know, this game's scripts doesn't work for Balder, which leads to softlocks. In most cases it can be avoided by swapping back to Bayo. How to do it? gamebanana.com/scripts/11436
I will not do full NSIC PP run as Balder, because I know how problematic Sloth and bosses for him. Sorry.
If you still care about my thumb - it's ok. Pls, don't mention it again. I almost regret writing about it in my handguns run of Bayo1

You know what I just thought of? (Not related to Bayonetta 2) The fact that in the 3rd game that Jeanne is playable in the training mode, technically, all of her 3D animations are there. The developers would just need to update them, so she could be playable in the 3rd game’s story mode. I really hope that happens soon. Right now, I’m just distraught about her not being playable in the 3rd game’s story mode. Her mediocre side quests are not enough!

DId you forget there are Witch trials and Phenomenal remnants, where she is completely playable? I believe there is no fucking reason for her not to be playable in story mode at all. May be some animations in cutscenes would be broken (like this Balder ones), but the easiest solution is to keep Bayo in cutscenes. You can play Jeanne in story mode btw. There is full mod with many costumes, with Jeanne colored masquarades and wicked weaves, animations, voicelines etc. Believing PG will make another patch is funny.

So now that there's been some time to get to know Balder in a solo setting, what's you analysis? Strengths and weaknesses, how he compares to weapons in Bayo's kit, changes you'd make and things that should be kept, etc.

Actually, after my first run (uploaded a long time ago) I barely touched Balder. He is strong. Really strong. His Punch-Kick combo stuns a lot of enemies, which is actually broken. He has no problems with blocking enemies - you have enough time to land PPK combo - Punch-punch are fast enogh to connect during lightspeed, and Kick is unblockable. I didn't really practiced Sloth fights, so my match-up knowledge is lacking, but as I remember Sloth and Bosses are huge pain. So they are his weaknesses. I have no idea how to fix it. Of course he needs actual umbran spear to do "don't touch the ground" muspelheims. + He needs underwater travel form. Things I really want for him - lock-on+back+kick being uncancellable + actual bat within (feater within?). He technically has bat within, but without animation and he gets knocked up, leading to no reward.
