BCM R&R - FsuperDuty 

Replaced and programmed a bcm today on a 11 250. Went through without a hitch . Using ids and vcm. Did have to replace two tire sensors and relearn.

I can see you really know what you're doing, I found out today that I need a bcm because my air doesn't work 07 gt quoated 600$ I really wish you were in asheville,n.c. just my luck, keep up the good work, keep ROCKIN !!!!!!!

I know it says to remove that and the tccm to drop the blower motor do you actually have todo that or can you squeeze it out. Also do you have to disconnect it to remove or can you just unbolt and move and lastly can you leave battery’s hooked when unhooking bcm or no.

I have a 2014 f350 4x4 6.7. Just got service the advance trac sys message. Local tech plugged in the scanner and got failure to receive transmission from abs. Just replaced a frozen caliper and ruined rotor after a long trip.. my question is could my hub Assy on that wheel be at fault instead of the bcm? I’m sure that it got overheated from the caliper issue. Thank you

Just had mine replaced yesterday was getting wet I guess. The truck would not start just crank for 2 seconds then stop? Only after a rain storm tho. Ford charged me 3k picked it up went home, next morning same thing now they don't know. Any ideas would greatly appreciated? It's a 2011 f450 gas

I have a 2016 ford f250 xlt 6.7 power stroke and I'm not sure what happened but my headlights are stuck on it has power but the display screen for my gears and odometer don't work and it won't start it throws a code p2610 but it won't show a check engine light or anything I don't know if it's stuck in theft mode or the pcm is bad or if the pcm relay is bad just wondering what your thoughts would be on what's wrong

My Parking lights will not go off on my 2013 6.7 powerstroke Lariat. I have to pull the two fuses out of the BCM to get them to go off. Could this be a possible BCM issue?

I had to replace a BCM, I believe it was on a 2014 F-250. This vehicle came in with the right side headlight not working. Long story short, the aftermarket plow wiring for the headlights were poorly installed. This was confirmed when I supplied B+ to the right side low beam circuit and saw a nice smoke show. Upon installation of the new BCM, the front power windows were now inoperative. After pulling my hair out rechecking my work and unable to find anything wrong, Ford Hotline instructed me to uninstall IDS and re-install about three older versions of IDS and redo the PMI process again. Sure enough, it worked. Made me wonder what was wrong with the current version of IDS. The point being, I wasted a lot of time through no fault of mine.

I have an odd issue. 2015 F350 that had Sync2, I installed a Sync3 and it works great except that after about 17 mins from key on the screen starts to dim and at 20 mins it goes completely off, touch still works if you know where to touch. Reverse camera doesn’t show, steering wheel controls work but nothing starts the screen back except power+>> reset or key off/on. Seems like some BCM power saver function sending a sleep command to the Sync 3 running 3.4. I was told that a Sync 3 with old software would probably fix this, but you can’t downgrade from 3.4. Is this something a Ford mechanic will even want or try to fix? I’m wondering if a newer BCM or other module could fix it

Great video, I have a 2011 F250 and just started to have issues with power windows and door locks. They work briefly until the circuit breaker for the windows gets super hot. The wires going to the main drivers switch are even warm. Also blows the power door lock fuse. Replaced the window switch as I thought it maybe it, but no luck. Does this sound like more of a BCM issue? Thanks for the help

just saw your video on the bcm replacement. i had some moister enter my bcm and first noticed by my advance track light coming on. Also all my outside lights will not shut off blinker lights will not work but emergency lights will. I have cleaned all plugs and added some electrical grease to prevent any further moister intrusion. Do you think that by replacing my bcm that this would cure the issues i am having. We have swapped BCM to upgrade to OEM road lights. Thinking it could just be driven to the dealer which obviously did not work out. So we swapped the original BCM back in and it will not start either now. Is there a way to get this going without having it towed ?

2012 f350. Replaced BCM at ~200k mi. Lost rear dome lights first. Lost dome lights in the front next. Then lost AC/heat fan motor. No blower. I’m at 282k mi. Exact same issues.

We have a 2011 F-350 6.7l king ranch. We have an issue with the power windows, moon roof, back sliding glass, and the compass displayed on the instrument cluster not working intermittently. Then the next day or two it will start working again. Do you think this is the BCM?? Looking at the Ford wiring diagram book it appears that the BCM is the common denominator as well as 30a relay #48, but we have had the relay tested and was told the relay is not bad. Is it common for intermittent issues with a BCM or should we be looking at a possible ground, switch, or wiring??? We have brought it to two mechanics that either don’t want to deal with it or just don’t really know what they are doing. They both sent the truck back and said (paraphrasing) ‘we don’t know what the problem is, never heard of this issue, probably some wiring somewhere.’

Thanks for the info. I have 2019 6.7 w/ 30800 miles. Ford dealer determined that it was in need of a BCM for a parking aid fault. Tech installed the new BCM and it would not program. Tech tried 3 other shop computers with the same result. Tech advised that a call will have to placed with ford for answers to why? Why would it not program? Is it the truck or bcm? Just curious? Thanks.

Got an 07 Explorer Sport Trac. 3 weeks ago I started it to have no Information Center display and no dash warning lights but the instrument cluster worked still such as the fuel gauge, speedometer, etc. At the same time I had ZERO heat and no power whatsoever to the electronic dual climate control. I suspected a fuse but all looked ok. The message center intermittently starts working again but the heat has not worked since. A scan with a BlueDriver tool showed things like “lost communication with body control module”, “battery voltage out of range” and that my compass lost communication. The other day the compass started working again. Do you think this could be the Body Control Module? On my truck the fuse panel is located on the driver side up above the kick panel. It appears to be a very difficult job to mess with as it’s hard to see anything beyond the bottom of the fuse panel!

Have a 2013 reverse lights wont work. All fuses and relays are good. But I have no signal from the bcm reverse wire. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Great video very informative I feel whoever designed the module to be located there should be subject to public thrashing. It took me 2 hours to change a fuse.

You seem to have a pretty good grasp on the electrical systems on these trucks... I’m having an issue with my center stack cutting out, my airbag light coming on and my front windows stop working all at the same time. I just had my bcm installed, and programmed at a dealership and that didn’t fix the issue. Any idea as to where I should go from there?

Bought a used truck and the map lights flash like that. Along with the cargo lamps. I also get a code for the bcm. Is it possible that they didn’t fully set up the bcm.

I have no power to my turn signal in passenger mirror but turn signal works on passenger head lamp and rear does this sound like it could be BCM? If I took to dealership would them replacing bcm have any effect on the tuning that’s been done to the truck?

I have an issue with my rear passenger brake light and turn signal not working. The fuse is good and have power at both sides of the fuse but no power at the light socket. Even traced it back up to the BCM and no power coming from the BCM. I took the thing out and looked for loose and dirty connections but it was all good. I would hate to have to bring it to a shop to change the BCM because I have no tuner to program it. Could there be another way to get around this problem??

I have a 2011 F350 Power Stroke. I have intermittent issues with TPMS fault. The issue will clear the next day. This happens every few weeks. I don't have any USB charges connected but I do suspect it is some kind of an RFI issue. The two codes I see are... DTCs in BdyCM: B124D:02-8A, B1182:00-8A I found an excerpt from the shop manual that suggests removing and re-seating all connectors on the BCM. Can I safely unplug these connectors without having to reprogram the BCM. I assume the reprogramming piece is just for replacement BCMs. Is there a way to clear the TPMS fault rather than having to wait a day for it to clear on its own? Thanks, Kevin

I just came across this video, I have a 2012 f250was having an intermittent no start, no run, that fixed itself, blower motor works intermittently, ac compressor was intermittent now no work, wipers stopped working, alarm activates if manually unlock, but not if fob is used, tpms and advance trac warnings on dash. All fuses and relays are good. Sound like BCM?Does Ford still build BCMs for these trucks? Will the dealer still work on a 2012?

We have a 2016..all modules are shut down..ipc is off always...tested all fuses they all have power..the 5 fuses at bcm all have power..bcm gets hot..you think its the bcm?

My f150 BCM was broken. Do I have to use the same part number BCM? Ford P / N is the same as the existing one. The Ford kit P / N is different from the existing one.

can a steering wheel control module tell the bcm to not tell the instrument cluster to go to sleep completely because I have a parasitic draw that it coming from the instrument cluster but there is nothing wrong with the cluster that I can see and it turns off when the truck is off and theres are no lights on the cluster or gauges that stay on..... I had a aftermarket stereo installed with the idatalink to retain the steering wheel controls for the radio and I think that the idatalink is leaving something on and not putting the cluster into sleep mode...…..

I have a 2018 F250 that needed a new BCM per the codes it was throwing (about 6 codes). However, 3 new BCMs later the BCM's still won't program correctly (dealership is confused) They have had my truck for 2 months with this ongoing issue. The new BCMs keeps saying that I am missing stuff even though the truck never came with it (ex: Trunk antenna and Dully setup along with other things) . Anyone have any clues or suggestions?

I have a 2011 F150 FX4 and the left back turn signal and break light does not work. The hazards light and quarts lights work on this same left side just not the turn signal or break light doesnt. All the others work just fine. I check fuses and checked bulbs and all good. Could you help out and maybe hint what it could be.

My 16 F350 gasser needed a new BCM. I had a ford tech stop by and install it. He said he programmed it in and needed the two keys also. After install my brake light in the dash stays on. The tech said to disconnect batterie for a hour and then reconnect and light in dash will go out. I did this but the dash brake light is still on. Any ideas to what is wrong? The brake dash brake light was never on prior to changing the BCM.

Hi I have a Ford 6.7 I installed a new motor and when I started it the first time it ran for a hour and died. It will not start now. I bought a autel and then coded the injectors. And put the vin in . Do you have any ideas why it will not start?

Is there a training seminar for non- ford technicians for IDS? I’m one of two mechanics from a Rural electrical utility company that service and maintain super duty gas and diesel trucks. The nearest dealer is 2 and half hours in either direction.

I had a question in regards to aftermarket tail lights on a 2011 F150. Research shows the LED tail lights cause the BCM to go into “turn signal out” or “hyper flash” mode. Mine was in hyper flash when I got it from a used dealership. I didn’t know what that was at the time so it wasn’t a concern. Then after a month or so my tail light signals started malfunctioning. Putting on a right signal would cause both tail light signals to flash like my hazards were on. Putting on a left signal would do nothing.. no tail light singnals would flash. My mechanics saying I will need to replace the BCM. God forbid $500 + for a tail light issue... I did some research and found a OBDII tool that works with a smartphone app to reset the BCM. I found comments and videos saying that this works. The tool is 20 bucks and the app is 5 bucks.. I figure it’s worth a shot to try that first. What you think?

Great informative video.I hope I don't have to do this ..... but, I'm trying to determine if my BCM is shot. All at once, none of my 3 integrated keyheads will communicate with the truck (w/new batteries). The PATS disarms when I put the key in the ignition to on after manually unlocking. The ext key panel on the driver door works fine and disarms the alarm, the interior door lock switches work fine and arm the PATS. Any troubleshooting tips on trying to determine what's going on would be much appreciated!

I have an 11 F250 with dual climate control module. One day when leaving work it was dead. nothing HVAC turns on, backlight, nothing. I have 12.45V at the #46 fuse but could this BCM have kicked the bucket on that leg? Note the truck has 522,500 miles on it.

Hello there Señor ,, I have a question -- && Happy Holidays to you and your family I hope all is well ----- I'm working on a 2012 F550 diesel , problem is the entire cluster sometimes shuts off while driving ,, also when the dashboard isnt working the interior && all outside lights stay lit -- Also if the dashboard isnt working the truck wont turn on.. if I disconnect the harness above the emergency brake for a few minutes and the lights do turn off -- but the problem randomly persists --- are these signs of a faulty BCM .?

My service appointment for my 2019 F350 was scheduled asap - 8 weeks out. Hazards initially would turn on randomly then got to the point they were always on. Door locks started locking locking locking. Headlights come on. E brake chime dings incessantly. The tpm works intermittently. The horn started blaring on a long trip-had to pull the fuse. The tcm code comes up now, but will clear when I clear the codes. Every time I park, I have to disconnect the batteries. I am so glad I put in quick disconnects. The problems only seem to come up once the truck warms up. I've only had this truck for 10 months and I love it but this is getting annoying. This is going to cost about $1200.

I got an issue with my bcm and you might be the only guy that can help! Long story short the circuit in the bcm for my running lights is completely fried. I can't find the exact same part number bcm anywhere, do they have to be identical part numbers? I can find so many others just not my exact number! If you can help you would definitely be a lifesaver!

i have a major electrical issue with my 2012 f250 powerstroke. truck starts and runs fine! radio turns on but doesnt light up, electrical windows dont work, ac blows but not cold, trac control and autostable light on dash, air bag light on. NOW i replaced the cluster with another used one but didnt work. is this a bcm or pcm issue?! im stupped been looking around for messed up wires and fuses but nothing out of the ordinary.

Hey bud, I could really use your help. Trying to help my father with his truck, a 2016 6.7 F350. One day his truck displayed a TPMS fault message on the dash display on the way to work, same day his key fobs stopped working. We did research, went to our buddies at a local ford with the codes we pulled off the truck, we have an IDS. They suggested BCM. So we replaced the BCM while watching your video. When we got to the CEI configuration step it says complete/success but his dome lights kept flashing. Proceeded with PATS programming etc. Truck starts and runs fine. But still have TPMS issues, key fobs not working and blinking dome lights when the truck is on. We went back to our original idea before talking to ford of maybe the RTM being the culprit. Pulled the headliner down and replaced, same issue. Tried to redo the BCM procedure only to have the same results. We did notice that we cant get the TPMS to program with either procedure, tool or air release method. As you know it says start left front which we did, but also tried every tire to eliminate it being a bum sensor even though that was unlikely. Still living with key fobs not working, TPMS fault and blinking dome lights. Any ideas? Id greatly appreciate your help!

Kaboomie. Save me those fuses. Most of those rollbacks haul scrap cars all day for salvage and auction yards. Rough environment.

No power to driver's door actuator, the other 3 doors locks work great, have to use a key to UNlock driver's door! Power buttons works on 3 doors. 2014 XLT SUPER CAB 5.O L. A bad bcm or fuse or relay?? Only have 1 key so could that lock have been deactivated by last owner so wouldn't lock his key in the truck???
