Interesting, the tip to leave the conditioner in without rinsing is really useful. I’ve always been the, “you’re supposed to wash it out” type so I’m definitely going to try this on my latest order. My wife loves me with a beard but always wishes it could be softer!

Reminder: Beard oil is NOT for your beard. It is intended to help moisturize your skin under the beard (to replace the sebum oil your beard wicks away). It should never be omitted from any beard routine. Balm DOES NOT replace the need for oil.

Thank you for discussing this! I'm glad that Eric discussed the term 'beard butter' with respect to your utility balm. I do think it is one of the best on the market, but you already know that and you don't need me to advertise. I particularly enjoy the fact that your balm includes multiple butters as well as both lanolin and beard wax. I've used a number of products out there, but I always come back to your products. Thank you also for having the three tiers (white, silver, and gold)! This allows anyone to buy your product no matter the size of their wallet. Keep up the good work.

I'm so jealous of all these guys beards... I'm pretty new to the beard journey, only about 7 weeks in and I'm most definitely patchy. However the positivity of this channel helps to keep from picking up the razer. My mustache doesn't connect, but at least I can grow a damn strong goatee and moustache. If I can power through the patches, I may be able to fill in some missing areas. I know they are significantly more expensive, but I just purchased my first beardbrand products due to the community involvement and great positive and informative content. Cheers Beardbrand crew!

Watching your video brought up a good question. What happens if you have some product left after 3 months? Does it spoil? Does it not perform the same? I just got my first "beard bundle" today so I don't have any usage patterns set up. Heck, I might run out before 3 months. But I am curious since you mentioned that the products are made to last about 3 months.

Hello. Please can you answer me this about WAX. I am confused when I read online that you should wash a beard 1 to 3 times a week. I use beard wax every day, but it says online you should wash the beard wax out at then end of the day. This means I have to wash my beard 7 times a week right? Id it ok to wash it 7 times a week? Do I really need to wash out the wax every night? I would really appreciate an answer to this because it is slightly confusing me as to which is the best routine. I dont have a long beard, just similar to your beard in this video, but I use wax because my beard is exposed to wind quite a lot, so need more strength to hold it.

I like to put my beard right up to the cold shower head and keep it there for 5 minutes.

Beard oil needs to be packages in 2 oz bottles. We're always running out of oil before balm. With what we pay for shipping, I'd like to be able to order both at the same time. Also, the beard wash and "softener" need to be packaged at 6-8oz. For men with larger beards, we're going through much more ( 1 bottle per month with washing every other day). Most times, a dime size of product is not enough- especially with the softener witch dilutes immediately in a wet beard.

I use the beard softener 4 times a day, had no idea how to correctly use it but, I catch that anyway.

I have a very dry beard (plus I'm using Minoxidil on it, means even dryer) so it also gets flaky and itchy a lot. So I have to keep up a pretty intense routine to keep it soft and comfortable. That is usually doing deep conditioning (leaving it in longer) after every wash, which is 2-3 times a week. Then I use beard balm combined with beard oil every evening before bed (and after every wash), and either only beard balm or beard oil every morning. For styling I often use either oil or balm, and a little bit of wax in my mustache for that handlebar style (actually a super strong hold hair wax that acts like glue, because mustache wax was not strong enough lol.) Beard balm (and similar products) right after deep conditioning is really what saved my beard from dryness. So for anyone else out there who also has a very dry beard, I'd highly recommend that.

Eric, thanks for this post. I have oils, softeners, balms, conditioners and never really knew when to use each. I received my Beardbrand fragrance sampler last week and picked out my favorite scent (well, narrowed to 3) and am ready to become part of the the Alliance. I was hoping if you could clarify if I should go utility balm vs styling balm, and if picking up the sea salt spray matters in the decision. Plan on getting the oil, one of the types of balm, and the spray. Oh, and if it helps the answer, I have a full yeard that's a bit unruly, but that's ok, I am too.

I'm just an oil kind of guy currently. I'm in my late 20s and can grow a passable beard but it's not real heavy yet. I keep it around 12mm which I guess is approximately a half inch.
