+Vasisht Vasan Yes. Speaking of Don Rickles three days ago he turned 90 years of age, God bless him. I love David Letterman and I miss both his performance on his show, also his rare sense of humor.
Maybe it's because this is my time on Earth and I get to witness these people in time. And spend my time with them in the same era.. But it's absolutely great. And sad too. Because as I get older they all leave and soon,, I will too. Our time on this Earth is very short. And for some people it's been even shorter. But I'm glad to have been here. What a memories to tell someone a Heaven about who had to leave before their time.. And those I will seek as I have left before my time. The circle goes unbroken.
I love that Jon Stewart is always unapologetically himself. There aren't too many people who would have shown up to host an event involving being on stage with the president, vice president, and both their wives wearing jeans, a t-shirt, a jacket and carrying their hat and everyone would be ok with it but Jon is such an authentic person you almost expect him to just wear what is comfortable to him. I know he always put on suit and tie for the daily show and I understand the reasoning behind that but I also figured he is the type to not be wearing any pants behind the desk to even things out.
If there are three men currently living who make me proud to be American, it's David Letterman, John Stewart, and Barack Obama. Such brilliant minds. These men together made the last decade so much better for me and so many Americans. Bernie Colbert 2020!
Raj Singh He's saying that they sound like how they did when they were running because they're going out of office and it doesn't matter because they don't need to act on it anymore. The audience was applauding the idea of them running again.
I guess when you quit doing comedy you loose the will to shave? O_O ...it's like counting the rings on a tree... you can tell how long they have been out of work by the thickness of the beard! haha!
Jon Stewart always was a fan of Dave. And when Dave retired, so did he. And then backstage here Jon met Dave and saw his retirement beard. And I could tell he's like, 'Dave even has to beat me on the retirement beard!' Jesus Christ! That would've been really funny if he said that here

Letterman and Stewart. Both class acts that are missed by many. My Mornings watching the recorded shows from the night before just aren't the same quality they were when these men occupied space on my DVR (PVR as we say in Canada....Personal Video Recorder)
+master procrastinator you can't be much of a Jon Stewart fan to not know that. You missed one of the BEST political commentators of our time while he was working. Your loss. Everyones loss now that he's retired. Hope he comes back in a simular form to his old show. His unique voice is missed deeply by many

There's not a day goes by that I don't marvel at the titles some people choose to stick on their RU-vid uploads. 'Bearded David Letterman'. Jon Stewart is bearded here also, but obviously that was not worthy of note. Under this video in my feed there's a video titled 'Comedian makes Blake Griffin laugh'. That one's weird because I've never heard of Blake Griffin but the comedian is Norm Macdonald.
Retirement if Jon Stewart and David Letterman, who deserves it, was a great loss to late night comedy and I had a hard time grappling with that fact. Trevor Nish and Stephen Colbert are great replacements, but I still miss Stewart and Letterman. I miss Stewart's sharp wit and Letterman's quirky sense of humor. They made for great TV.
+john branski He's 5'6" and proud of it ! He jokes about it and that's great. Other short people buy shoes with 2 inch heels and insoles to appear taller. He's honest.
He said he shaved since he was 20 every single day for the work and he got sick of it. So when he finally retired and didn't feel to obligate to shave anymore, he just stopped doing it.
