My DIY shampoo and conditioner : • DIY SHAMPOO & CONDITIO...
This has revolutionised my hair care routine! I am in love with this DIY dry shampoo. It's all natural, chemical free and smells amazing. Super quick and easy to make when you don't have time (or can't be bothered) washing your hair.
INGREDIENTS
1 1/4 cup Cornflour (cornstarch)
1 tbsp Baking Soda
Cocoa powder to suit your hair colour (I ended up adding about 1/4 cup)
15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
METHOD
Mix together in a bowl and store in an easy to use container. Old herb/spice jars are great for travelling and keeping in your hand bag. You can store left over dry shampoo in a zip lock bag.

Love this!! I am a brunette and had just been using plain corn starch, never thought about adding coco powder to help make it match my hair color. Genius!!!

Thank you for sharing. It's clearly better with cocoa powder, than when dry shampoo first came out and gave you virtually "white" hair at the roots. But I think it helps enormously that you have previously lightened hair as it blends your regrowth roots. I think my hair is still just too dark for this to work on me... I would probably need something like powdered charcoal, if it didn't stain everything it touched! Well done for helping people though.. Great idea.

ziplock bags are not recyclable. use your old empty jam jars. you can punch small holes in one lid with a nail for a shaker

Thank you so much for sharing this video! I only wash my hair about 2 days a week as well, so dry shampoo is a life saver product on those inbetween days. :p I want to get into making more of my own beauty products so this will be a good start! :) I do a lot of natural/green beauty videos if you want to check them out too. My hair is keratin treated and straightened. Can I still do this if I don't want to wash my hair when it becomes greasy? I'm afraid it will mess up my hair

I bought at Wholefoods an organic cocoa powder. Man, it stinks like vinegar when on your skin. Though I am a light brunette I will use the only arrowroot powder.

I've heard that it needs to be " unsweetened " co coa powder or it will make your hair sticky? Is that true or can u use normal?

I only use baking soda and cornstarch, I don’t add anything brown. I section my hair and use a fan brush to apply. I haven’t bought a dry shampoo since I found out about this! It works really great. I also wouldn’t recommend putting anything wet into the mix because that didn’t work for me.

Dutch cocoa powder. Go to an Amish store and you can find a very dark brown cocoa that you won't find at your local grocery. Practically black

I know it sounds super weird, but it is so good for your hair. It is detoxifying and cleansing. Of course, do some research so you know what it is all about and what it can do for your hair before you give it a go.

Should let it sit in your hair for at least 2 minutes so it can soak up the oils for better effects x

Running your hands through just helps to spread it around your roots, it doesn't get it out, so it can stay in all day working its magic :)

Sometimes I do rush my words, I always a million things going on my head and sometimes words don't come out properly because my brain doesn't slow down enough for them to :) Apologies if you were unsure what I was talking about.
