[english version below]
Hey, I'm Felix and this is a time lapse video about the crystal growth of:
sodium chloride (colorless, cubic),
potassium hexacyanoferrate (III) (red),
copper sulfate (blue) and
sodium acetate (colorless, acicular).
It did not always work right the first time, as I had imagined, and often five days passed before the crystal growth were finished. So it took months until this time lapse video could be realized. The music was recorded by a friend who does not want to be mentioned further. Thanks for that!
Have fun with the video! I hope you like it, if so, please leave me a comment, a thumbs up and a subscription. It would please me.

I have shown this to my classroom of students. We are studying crystal growth, and my grade 6/7 students were wide eyed by the beauty of it. The music is stunning. I wish I could hear more!

This is clearly the comment I was most pleased to see. I'm so glad your students enjoyed it! I plan to make another video but with more exotic compounds. I would be happy to read from you again under the new video. First of all, in the next few weeks I will publish a video that I have been working on for 3 years. In it is a 20 minute piece of music of my musician. He would be very happy if you listen in.

Do you have more information about how you made the crystals? Would love to learn more about that
@Flixventures
@Flixventures 3 года назад
I prepared a saturated solution of the salts (see description) and illuminated it with a halogen lamp that provides enough energy to evaporate the water very slowly. I have recorded the time lapse in a box, so that as little dust as possible falls into the solution. Because of the slow evaporation, the crystals (probably due to dust or small particles as crystallisation nuclei) could then slowly form their characteristic shape.
