I've been flying the Quadcopter mod by LeFix on GTA V and I've honestly got to say, it tops all the other sims in terms of environments. You can do all your usual pids, there just isnt any selection of drones, but you can modify things like weight etc even gravity. Seriously, check it out for some fun freestlye. Thanks for all the great content!

I used this sim the past month and a half or so. Finally got my chameleon all done and went straight to the field and flew fpv in acro. The sim is DEFINITELY floaty compared to the real thing. Even with that said, the sim is priceless. I know it saved me from crashing a million times! I've never caught myself leaning and tilting my head to a game/sim before this haha. Once I got the hang of making It go the direction I wanted it to, The leaning and head tilting stopped 😛Only flew 2 packs so far but felt pretty comfortable doing so. Worth every penny. With or without a key!

Thanks for the recommendation, Stewart! I have used RC simulators in the past when learning to fly planes and heli's, so I recognize the benefit of these types of products. Purchased and look forward to getting the hang of things a bit before hitting the field. Your contributions to this hobby are very much appreciated!!

Great video, I just downloaded this simulator and I think it's a great tool to help new pilots get into the hobby. It does take a some getting used to at first, but once you get over the initial learning curve it is a great way to practice. Keep the content coming!

I recently got a new pilot into fpv and he downloaded this sim. I have never used this sim and checked it out. OMG! This is the greatest. Multigp tracks downloadable, awesome! I changed the settings to get rid of the floaty feel and he is now ripping! I got him to fly my race quad with the goggles and I was impressed at how well he did. I am now using this sim for days I can't get out. Thanks UAVfutures for this video.

I'm going to get the xs809hw to learn with then I'm going to to the under 300 deal... but for goggles I'm going to get the eachine goggles instead of the box goggles. Tons of help on this channel. Can't believe it's this easy and budget friendly to do.

Picked up a copy of Velocidrone a few weeks ago to practice on as I build my first quad. If any other beginners out there want to exchange tips or comiserate, let me know! Always good to have a support group. I've been following the FPV Academy beginner drills so far. The Empty Scene Day in the "Official Track: Ireland - IDN 2016" seems to be laid out decently for the first 3 lessons.

I fly Velocidrone every day. I bought it about 5 months into my FPV experience, and kicked myself for not getting a sim sooner. I've flown two other Sim's and this is hands down the best! I'm currently 22nd on the leaderboard for the SFPV VRL 4 track you flew 😁. Awesome review!

The physics engine in Velocidrone is quite processor intensive, if the game runs below around 100fps the floatiness starts to be a problem. F12 will give you a fps count and some info while in game to check. I run it windowed on a decent PC for best feel. Great sim, great developers, great updates. Best sim out there. My time: 40.792

I got a Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz with a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB @ 1920x1200, with all settings as high as they can go. And this game runs like a dream. No "floatiness" at all, just perfect air-time. I just tried this level and pressed F12 and I average around 138 or so FPS, but seems to peak around 180 with a minimum once of 89.After playing the trial for a few days I ended up buying this. Even though I've tried the others except Liftoff. This seems to be close to the responsiveness of my Wizard x220 w/4S. I think games should be properly reviewed against other hardware. Now this video will live on the internet for many years to come even though THIS experience is not typical with proper hardware.

As a new pilot, 4-5 hours on Velocidrone kept me from wanting to chuck my Tinyhawk 2 RTF in the dustbin! I was able to use the Tinyhawk as a dongle, connected through Betaflight. Bonus, working from home during quarantine affords several “flying breaks” on the sim between clients! Thank you for your vids. They make breaking into this complicated and amazing sport possible for noobs like me.

im a noob and Velocidrone was my choice in sims. you picked my favourite track too :) i think im at 64 seconds as my fastest time so far, but having seen you im well chuffed with that after only a cpl of months in this hobby... your channel got me into this and after watching reviews i stumped up for a wizard 220s. this sim has definitely saved me money on crashing :)))) i actually held out for a month before flying so i could get my taranus and fly on the sim first:) the only time i use self levelling on my real quad is for take off and landing and have been like that from day 1. i doubt i could have done that without this sim.

I use Liftoff. It feels the most realistic to me. Actually was able to learn setting rates that I eventually took to my quad and I have both flying almost identical. Helps alot. Just learned the "juicy flip" from Bardwell Vid using Sim. I highly recommend getting a Sim that feels real to practice maneuvers on before you trash a quad in the field.

Nice! Glad you got a setup that runs sims. I've pretty much tried them all and liftoff feels like it has the best physics to me. Also, for those looking for a more gamey sim, the GTA quadcopter mod is incredible. There's just so much to do and it looks really really good visually!

@evanthevan 6 лет назад
Syzygy FPV I think I actually disagree! Velocidrone is way too floaty for me even with drag and weight adjustments. In the GTA mod you can adjust 'gravity' which helps a lot. However if I'm going for realistic flight characteristics, I'll go with liftoff hands down!
@kain0m
@kain0m 6 лет назад
Can confirm, Velocidrone helped me build my msucle memory before going for my first FPV flights. It's a steep learning curve if you flew fixed wings before, so having your first 100 crashes in a sim speeds up the process imensely. Also, in theory you can use a joystick for velocidrone, but don't do it. Learn to fly YOUR radio.

Hello. What transmitter you recommend to use with this simulator? Or basically with simulators? I have also Lifoff. But at both is almost impossible to fly with gamepad. Gates are too small for gamepad. :( Yea I don't have racing drone yet. I just wish to train in simulator before to go on real drone. Also don't want to spent too much. Is FlySky FS-i6 good choice? Or is there anything good for lower price? Why Taranis is so better then other transmitters? Thank you. (Y)

I flew 100% first on Liftoff in Acro only for bout 25hrs and transitioned to my 5" quad without any issues I found Velocidrone to be "floaty" as well. I think Liftoff is feels for realistic when it come to that. But I do like all of the locations you get with Velocidrone. I own both.

I'm using Lift Off because the demo for Velocidrone didn't inspire a confident purchase. I've gotten a bit of experience with a micro, but I just bought an Eachine Wizard X220 (based on your experience and recommendation) and I wanted to get comfortable with acro controls before I go out and crater my new quad. I've been getting a lot of stick time with the sim, and I'm feeling pretty confident.

Hi Stew, In my opinion Velocidrone feels VERY close to the real thing, it just requires a little bit of setting up to get the most out of it (The Facebook group is great for help with this), to get you started try setting the camera FOV to 110-120, max FPS to 999 and turn Vsync off, this should enable you to run a much quicker frame rate than stock and that will help massively with the feel. For people on lower spec machines it's also possible to reduce the quality, resolution and draw distance. Pressing F12 while in-game will show the FPS monitor, if you can get >200 FPS it should feel fantastic. Also there is a weekly online tournament called the Velocidrone Racing League aka VRL that is well worth checking out, there are some top pilots competing such as SFPV and Nytfury and it's a great introduction to real life racing. I've got a bunch of Velocidrone vids up on my RU-vid if anyone wants to see what if flies like once set up correctly. Happy sim flying :)

Started 2 years ago with when Liftoff came out, it´s still the best sim for me and helped me massivly, I don´t even want to think about all the money and time I would have lost without. With the updates last year and the help of some serious vips like chad nowak and boris from BF they improved so much. velocidrone never worked for me, plus I can´t bear with the graphics and sound. If you´re new and looking for a sim check out the alternatives like freerider, liftoff, DRL everyone has different taste I´m sure there is a sim which suits you and will help you improve a lot.

I started with Freerider...it didn't keep me interested (at first), went to DRL, flew it a lot, then back to Freerider because it was more like my real-life quad, then to liftoff...loved it and now have used Velocidrone for a few days (using Mr Steele's setup). I don't regret buying any of them. The more these improve and feed off of each other the better they'll all be in the long run. BTW: The best simulator isnt necessarily the one with the best physics or best environments, it is the one that keeps you interested so that you accumulate stick time. With 5 months of winter I like to switch back and forth a bit to keep it interesting. It always takes me my first battery (after spending time on the sim) to get the sim physics out of my head and get used to my real quads physics, but it is worth it for the overall improvement in skills.

I spent two months on a sim before flying my first race quad. Started flying the real thing immediately in acro mode without any issues. Never used self level in my life thanks to the sims. Still haven’t had a terrible crash that destroys my quad.

VelociDrone is my favourite sim, I've used it to learn tricks like inverted yaw spins etc. because it gives you the muscle memory you need. I plug my aomway commanders in and fly with goggles for a more realistic FPV experience, it's not perfect but I've pulled off tricks in the real world on my first try after learning them on the sim so it helps a lot. As far as "floaty physics" go you get the best experience by having a faster frame rate, you can get that by choosing a lower video quality, flying in a smaller world like the football stadium which is less taxing on your computer so it can easily get 350fps (I think you press f12 if you want to see your fps). You really need to be getting at least 200 fps and while the coastal map is fun it isn't as realistic as the football stadium and the car park.

While I was learning to build a quad I found the sims an invaluable tool. Yes they not exactly like the real thing but if you get the basics down the skills certainly translate.

That is very nice! Maybe you can suggest us a fixed wing simulator, for fpv and line of sight.
