Great video Mr. Williams. Thank you for showing economical and practical methods to get rid of bed bugs when you do not have the means to pay for a professional exterminator which is very costly.
Thank you, Joel! My husband and I viewed this today. You are a fabulous teacher....we learned a lot, and will implement your advice and steps into our fight against these pests. Thanks again!
this video has actually brought a smile to my face. gave me some reassurance. i thought my bed frame and mattress were goners. that would have been $800 down the toilet.
I used your video except duck taped around sides and corners with plastic under and sides so your not laying on the plastic. Six months later- no more problems. Bless you!!!!
Joel....I love your videos. As for this video I want to tell people it's 100% accurate. I was amused to come across this video at first and found that I already learned everything discussed in this video from experience. I suffered for 4 years, thankfully that's all, with bedbugs and can now say I'm bedbug free. People these methods work!!! Be diligent and consistent. I'm an expert with the alcohol and diteamacious earth, consistent vacuuming and cleaning. Good luck to all. Thanks Joel!
Thank you very much Ms. Layne. It really give new victims a shot in the arm when they here positive feedback from real people like yourself. Can't express how powerful that is for someone who is just having to deal with bedbugs for the first time.
@@JoelZWilliams1 You're right about that. We just discovered the bed bugs tonight. My grandson got bit again. At first we thought it was mosquitoes. I've never had to deal with this so I searched RU-vid. I believe God led me to your channel. I don't have much money but between your videos and people saying it works helps calm me. I didn't know what we were going to do. But now I have hope and we're gonna get through this. Thank you so much!! 😊🙏🙏🙏
God bless you for helping us. I am 83 yrs. My home is very clean but l have bed bugs. I live in an apartment. A person put a sofa out about 5 ft from my door. Later l was told that it had bed bugs. The office waited about 3 weeks to remove it. Now a few months later l have them on my sofa . I only receive a small SS security check . I am so sad. I can not afford new furniture. I can’t afford an exterminator. I will try some of your remedies. Thank you, thank you. Prayers that these help!
Your advice saved us. I think the most important things we did, on your video advice, was to wrap the mattresses in plastic and to put little plastic containers under all of the bed frame feet. We also cleaned and laundered and got DE to spread around. BUT i think the mattress wrapping and containers saved us. We'll take your advice with us wherever we go from here. Thank you!
Thank you for coming back to report your success. people don't do that enough. and I think it gives great inspiration to others. Please tell all of your friends.
Thanks this really helped. I found 2 bed bugs on my mattress yesterday and found out just how expensive treatments are. I will be wrapping furniture for the next couple days with a spray bottle next to me. Hope this works...
You need to buy the Bed Bug encasements. Walmart.com has it for less than the actual store..you can get it for about the same price as the uhaul plastic..
@@MsJanetLouise Or saturate your mattress with a very strong solution of disinfectant! I used dettol in a spray bottle using one part dettol to two parts water and then thoroughly spray all sides of the mattress until it was saturated. Then waited a whole day for it to dry before using it to sleep on. Dettol is a very strong disinfectant sold here in the UK. But I suppose other disinfectants would also work.
Thank you much sir for this information it has help me so much I’m going to go home and tackle this problem pray for me and it’s a really scary project
+Joel Z Williams ANOTHER great video...I'm glad I found your channel today...I live in South Carolina bed bug free since I moved in 1 1/2 years ago but about 9 months ago my daughter moved from Columbus (Ohio) down here with me and my other daughter, son in law and their 3 kids but for a couple months after moving in I seen no problem till one night my daughter's son was crying so I went to see what was wrong and I about died when I seen what at first I thought was a tick (we live in a wooded area) WAS NOT...that morning I had everyone take everything off their beds and found 3 bugs in the room so I went to Walmart and picked up some bb killer...I didn't see any again and thought I got rid of them...WRONG ANSWER...before I seen your channel I called in a pesticide company and at 1100 bucks a shot times 3 that got out of hand but after watching your videos I shared them with my 6 other daughters in Ohio...thank you for the information that I passed along and so far most of my daughters say it's a success and I could have saved a lot of money if I'd have caught this channel first...great job
You have really helped me. I have been crying and almost going into a nervous breakdown. I've been so upset didn't jno what to do. No one helps me or even want to listen. Now I have about ten bottles all over the house. I get about 5 a day and now I just made more traps. I still feel like I have a long way to go
Doris Peace continues the fight don’t give up. I believe the environmental get us to get insecticide I saw on the internet EPA has it for years. They does not care for humans we are disposable.😡😡😡😡
End of 2019. Along with your other videos on bedbug traps (CO2 emitters) this is a piece of cake! IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED HIS OTHER VIDEOS ABOUT “CREATE A CO2 BEDBUG TRAP” YOU REALLY NEED TO! Encasing the bed/furnishings is 1/2 of getting rid of the bedbugs. Fortunately my problem is confined to one room that has a hallway wrapped around it and we’ve already quarantined it off & sprayed around it. Bought a headboard & a week later my 15 year old has bites & blood on the sheets. Terminex wants $800 to treat the room & cover mattress/box springs. No way I’m going to pay that huge amount of money (even if I had it that’s outrageous!) for it so I’m off to the stores for Active Yeast & plastic sheeting & duct tape! It’s crazy that these bugs are IN the headboard! Thank the good Lord my daughter spoke up quickly because the bed has hardly any bugs so far. I do have to say the Terminex man did a very thorough inspection. He wanted to treat the house but said because that room has its own hallway that that was a save .. and we knew about it almost right away. I’ve already torn the box spring cover off from the under side - stood the mattress & box spring up & bombed between each.. including the headboard. I’ve bombed the room several times. Bagged up clothing & washed. Hot dryers etc.. My kids been in the living room for a couple weeks now & she’s not allowed to go into her room. I vacuum & carry out the vacuum in a plastic bag each time. I carry the vacuum all the way to the edge of the woods.. lol empty it, spray the chit out of it and then re-bag it. No bedbugs are getting away from me LOL 😂 The bugs that are left - yes I left a few on the headboard bugs to see how long it takes to die- they turned white and they look dehydrated. After bombing some were still barely moving but they didn’t look too good, so I was observing. I had no idea it can take a year!!! Omg that’s insane.. 400 days is more than a year! Without a blood meal you’d think they’d just shrivel & turn to dust. It must be hibernating mode or something. Anyways, Thank you sooo much! I don’t know how you would republish this video but I do know you are 100% right-> it isn’t to be embarrassed about because bedbugs don’t want money or filth - they want blood. Non-discriminate. Bed bugs are the devil!
THANK YOU! Excellent video. If one doesn't have the money there is a way to seal the plastic with a clothes iron using newspaper between the iron and the plastic.
Great idea yes, I used parhment paper for baking. Out on top of plastic to be welded together and press hard on a hard counter ect and it really melts and seals it like a weld. Great ideas brother. It worked for me and lots of others I show it to
I have just began to work on this problem. In fact I do not visually see any bugs on my mattress or home. But for about a week, I have been bit. I dismissed the first two as spider? First on one arm and then the other. The bites did not wake me but the itching and swelling did. I am really reacting to this. I began to look for insect bits like mine. I recently purchased a chair from a thrift store. Humm? Probably need to really examine that chair and encase it. Last night I surrounded my bed...a big circle of Diatomaceous Earth. It was on thing I had on hand from a while back with fleas. I am happy to report that I was not bitten at all last night, but the war is far from over. I fear they will get to my son's room. Anyway, people like you are rare and I think a great example of what we need in this world. People willing to help their follow man...for free. Very cool of you.
hit them hard and fast people. lets say you have 5 adults. 2 are maybe male, so 3 females-1-5 eggs laid PER DAY. for math purposes we'll say 3 adults laying 3 eggs per day. 63 eggs per week, hatch in 2 weeks. within a month, you are hopelessly infested. don't play. if you see one, treat it like there is already 1,000 of them. they suck so bad.
I bet you were correct about the Thrift Store! We are now fighting the problem ad I am convinced that it originated from some luggage purchased from there.
Thanks for all your videos and info on how to control the bed bug problem ! You make it very clear and easy to understand the method to solve the problem . We have started using your strategies and it has been an improvement ! Thanks very much for your help...!!!
My husband and I threw our sons beds out after learning of bed bugs upstairs in their room. We have purchased new ones, and have even bought bb mattress cases, however only one comes in package for $19.98. I'm so grateful for your video. This is how we're going to encase the box springs, and save some money! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You are awesome. Having some affordable methods for folks to get rid of bed bugs is a HUGE DEAL! I work for a local health department, and I will be sending people to your RU-vid videos. THANK YOU.
Thank you so Much! You went the full extent to really help us understand what's best to help ourselves!!! I found they loved the seams of my clothing. Despite heat killing them in both washer and dryer they'd get on me and poke their heads out of the seams and have a snack. Mostly juvenal's. I felt like I was in a race to kill them before they got mature enough to reproduce every few days. I couldn't find signs on anything but the sheets and blanket. If I caught one biting me it was the color of my skin, so small and hard to see. I couldn't find them anywhere but I never looked INSIDE the box spring. You're right about just doing the full 400 days, who wants to go through it over and over. I always had my new mattresses sealed right away. That was the only time I didn't. I honestly felt lazy about it and told myself I worry too much, it won't happen. I keep my mattress covered as soon as I get it from now on and just tell myself it's not a bed for a good night's sleep if it's not covered. Thank you for all you do!!
Long time viewer, 1st time commenter. I'd like to say, Awesome job, thank you for helping all these people all over the globe (Shout out from Australia), Keep up the great work :) 6 stars out of 5
I would include to this prevention of bed bugs a healthy amount of diatomaceous earthing idea of the plastic sheathing, for quicker results. thanks for your vids. keep up the good work.
Thank you so much. My family and I am finally free from bloodsuckers, bed bugs. I saw your video a year ago and I did exactly as u instructed. This really works. God bless you brother
I have gotten this handled over 95% out of my car by taking it to a body shop for a heat rewarm in their booth and maintain with 1x a week vacuum and lavender scented ant-ibacterial wipes.
Yes, I have personally never used Cimexa (Amorphous Silica Gel) , but I did read the study from Dr. Michael Potter at the University of Kentucky Department of Agriculture.. Very encouraging news. I hope you have similar results where you are.
Joel: Thank you for looking out for the less fortunate. My family just experienced a bedbug moment at a hotel. We will incorporate your method when we get home after we inspect and wash up everything. I will tell others about your video and method. The encasement for one mattress can cost 40 = 50 dollars. Thank you and God bless.
I appreciate your videos on eliminating bed bugs. I'm a bit confused and hope you can help. In this video, it appears you are saying that I shouldn't bother with the soda bottle approach using sugar, yeast and lukewarm water described in your other videos. In this video, it appears one need only wrap the box spring mattress and top mattress. Is that correct? If I am supposed use both approaches, are you recommending that I wrap the bed pieces then surround it bed with the soda pop contraption?
Joel I have been battling bed bugs in my apartment since discovering them back in 2009. I've had my landlord's exterminator treat my apartment twice, once in 2010 and again in 2011. They died down each time for 7 months and came back. I have had my mattresses encased along with box springs and I've changed encasements as well as thrown out and bought new sets both in my bedroom and my kids room. The exterminator told me the building is infested and you're right these encasements as far as cost adds up. I now do the 3 treatment method which is the alcohol, steam, and also the bed bug spray. I will try the plastic covering over my mattress encasements. Thanks for all your help.
+imari2305 . Please be sure to include the use of an amorphous silica gel like CimeXa. I'm telling you, it is well worth the $13 dollar investment. Best kill-to-cost ratio in the game.
I know this may sound bad, but I spay my mattress, around my bed, and under the bed with Raid and let it sit while I'm gone to work, then put the protector on the mattress
when I incased my bed in plastic I found there was more protection when I took the end put both sides of plastic together put a piece of duct tape on one side all the way across the end and folded it over and pressed it together then I secured it to the bottom of the box spring as you did
After suffering bedbugs for months, I finally found salvation through lightly dusting all their hiding places with diatomaceous earth (non-edible version). It's truly the most effective solution, and cheap too.
i used the plastic mattress covers u-haul sells for my king size; it's like a pillow case; insert and seal one side, then insert the sealed side and seal again, your mattress being like a pillow, get it? It's been working. Had also sprayed them with the product you spray on your shoes to make them water repellent. Worked. We picked these pests up at an apt community NE san antonio, tx!! Glad to say we have seen results with the above mentioned method. Plastic is not 4 mil, but holds up pretty good, just tape it good! Good luck brother, funny i ran into your video after all this time!
When you purchase a new mattress and boxspring it is usually enclosed in plastic. If I were to purchase a new mattress and boxspring, would this same concept work if I left the plastic on for over a year if I have bedbugs. I know this is more for enclosing bedbugs already on the mattress and boxspring, but for prevention measures would this also work.
i bought a commercial encasing for 80 dollars at Target..it was expensive! after about a year,i have no idea what happened..i couldnt find any rips...i turned it over one day and all the edges seams has TONS of bedbugs,i was horrified..i had started getting tichy but thought it was medication i was taking.
ok, first let start by saying thank you!!!!!!!! i live on a fixed income and absolutely CAN NOT afford to properly treat! so both of you videos, the encasement one and the yeast trap, have been so so helpful! my issue though, how the hell do you cover couches??? my couch is part of a sectional set and is extremely awkward... on one end it has a section that jets out so one person can lay across the couch and another can sit at the end with there feet up and stretched all the way out... its an enormous 3 piece with two full size couches... im throwing out the couch that has no extras and keeping the section that has the extra space at one end.... i'm so overwhelmed with all that has to be done and how little help there is! my daughter is the only in the house who is extremely sensitive to there bites meaning she cant be here at all and i can't get even one person to step foot into my apartment to help so i'm handling this alone... i only mention this because i have to take this into consideration when making a plan to do anything... im hopeful that you might have have other suggestions about covering my couch... and if there are any other suggestions that you might have, i am way open to hearing them! again, thank you so much for posting these videos... making them is time consuming and takes a lot of work! hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you Joel for the information and the examples that you give. Quick question. For heavier furniture that goes unused like a chair in the living room. Would bedbud inceptors with DE in them be good? Also when wrapping the mattress, is it like wrapping a gift? Would you recommend putting DE in the encasement before taping?
(Thank you for your help.) l keep telling my boyfriend stop feeling sorry for people and bringing people in the house.he felt sorry for someone and now we're sorry. I hope he learned his lesson this time.
Thanks for sharing. I just moved into an apartment. Kinda like a projects apartment. And found out after I moved in that the building has an infestation. So I wanna keep my space bug free is that possible??
I wrapped my bed and threw it out. Now im using an air mattress that i set on top of a cot. Sprinkled Borax around the feet of the cot and that has worked a charm.
You don't have to thrown your mattress just get product called CROSSFIRE and spray on mattrers this product kill them in minute and will work 4 weeks this is new product and is amazing + is no toxic so you can spray and wait when your mattress dry
I have no idea if I got the bedbugs from the place I bought my sectional sofa bed or my next door neighbor. I noticed the tiniest bug one day... Not realizing it was a baby bedbug. Then a week later there was one which most likely was an adult. This past Monday I showed this bug to the Manager to my apartment complex. He said. Stop going to your neighbors apartment. We all know that she had bed bugs. I had never seen anyone come by her place since I have lived here, 8 Months. Till this past Friday. The bug man came to my apartment, then to her apartment and then all the way down to another apartment. We have an infestation. And who pays for this? We do. We are a 55 and over senior citizen complex. Not everyone can afford what they are charging. $375.00. This has exhausted me. I like your video,, gives a lot of information...
Love your videos. Thank you. In '86 I was infected with HIV, been POZ since 2002; and now fighting colo-rectal cancer since '12. Exterminators want an entire months rent, and have only a 30 day guarantee. That's a racket. They're crooks. You are so helpful for someone like myself who due to serious chronic health issues is forced to live on a very meager budget. 5 nights ago I was tossing and flipped my pillow over to find 15 bed bugs on my pillow. I haven't gotten a good night's sleep since, and my apartment looks like a war zone. I've depleted my savings and maxing my credit cards to fight this ($160.00 in chemicals; $140.00 in Box Spring/Mattress and Pillow encasements). I don't tolerate pests, at all. I usually rely on peppermint oil for rodents (safe, effective and friendly) and Diatomaceous Earth for any bug problem. I know DE works on Bed Bugs, but this is not a light case, and I'm using it as well. My hardwood floors are covered in it as are my newly encased box springs and mattresses. Besides DE (diatomaceous earth) I thought I'd share some other things I've come across. Mineral Spirits, and Cold-Pressed Neem oil.
thank you thank you mr. williams on recommending cimexa. it solved all my problems no more problems and it happened really fast. all i recommend is to use cimexa liberally. bb free for four months now with nothing in sight. i also followed your advice on encasing my mattresses and did spend about 80 dollars on that but i didn't want to cut corners. all in all i couldn't be happier thank you so much!!!!!
You can also get a hockey of Contractor bags if you are covering a toddler/ crib sized mattress. I covered my son’s mattress to protect against bed wetting.
I've never been bit on my encased matress. I've checked for bed bugs like crazy but haven't seen them. I'm getting invisible bites too but no mark on my skin so I just don't know. When the AC is on and really cool, I don't feel that way though. I thought it might be bed bugs. This is something I'm willing to try after my dad sprayed the bed with lysol, bed bugs spray and spraying the rug with lysol and flying insect killer. Came home last night and showered n still felt itchy. Then after a while , I didn't and went to sleep. Now I'm feeling like I'm being bitten. I've tried a few things so far. I will try the CO2 method and this one. Hopefully it works. Since I got back home after being away almost 3 mos, I've been having this issue. I'm also pregnant so I hope I can finally deal with it before my baby arrives.
There is a thing that is called mattress protectors that are zippered shut and it works, its expesnsive you can even use it on your box spring. they even work for dust mites and moisture, and it is comformfortable to sleep on and you just take it off every now and then and wash it. You can't put it the dryer though. A lot faster.
I had an overnight guest bring these into my apartment over Xmas. It only took me a week to figure it out. I discovered what I believed to be their lair in my box spring and I immediately threw it out and I ordered some eco bed bug killer on Amazon which killed them on contact instantly. I also threw out my mattress and old wooden head and footboard. I also threw away all my bedding. So I started from scratch with an empty room I sprayed the pesticide everywhere. My new mattress uses a metal boxspring that has a cloth cover which hasn’t shown any signs of bed bugs. However I have seen single bedbug just creeping along the wall which I would immediately spray and make sure they were dead and flushed them. The sightings have been very limited and usually on the wall or ceiling. I can’t tell if these are just left over troops from the infestation that I eradicated. I mad your trap and only caught one very very small nymph. I’ve only gotten bitten a few times over the last three weeks. What else should I do. I spray daily around the bedding area and I’ve checked all the small cracks. I was going to get that powder you showed before but without a real sign of multiple bedbugs I’m not sure what I should do
You're not the only one being bitten in the house, you're the only one that is being affected by the bites..so your family should be concerned about them too!! I'm so sorry that your being made to feel like it's your fault...their also being bitten!!!!!!
I hate that you're being made to feel bad about this. Family members or anyone else need to do their research because Bed Bugs DO NOT discriminate between clean or unclean. They can be found in 5-Star Hotels! Bed Bugs are only looking for blood! 🙏 God bless you and give you peace. 🙏
I was driven to a breaking point bc of these demons from hell. My mom did not believe me bc she wasn't waking up with bites until one day she decided to take a good look at her mattress and my skin crawled when she showed me. She was in disbelief. I told her they were eating her alive without her knowing (she doesnt seem to react to the bites). We taking it day by day but I gotta say my anxiety has increased through the roof bc of these things. I have changed my way of life practically such as putting my belonging in plastic bags and containers and throwing away couches and bed springs. I pray that we are rid of them some day
joel your video's are so knowledgeable and thank you for that , it gives us hope. this is my first time ever experiencing this problem . I had them my couch , which I did not find that many big bugs , that i could see( my couch was only eight months old and it was new) I did not see any on my mattress the first 2 times i looked but after cleaning living area and bagging up all my belongings in bags with De and washing all my clothes and drying them , I looked and seen a full grown bed bug on side of mattress. I threw away my couch and mattress and have my house under DE and cemexa .. All my belongings are in plastics bags with DE (food grade) and in my car sealed tight so the heat could hopefully kill the bed bugs if there are any. I have all my clean clothes in bags which i planned on leaving there for a whole month while I use the DE on carpets ... i am so nevrous that I do not know what to do or if I am doing the correct procedure to get rid of them.. I plan on buying a new couch and bed after 60 days of treatment.... 1. I am putting DE all over all the carpets and leaving for 7 days than vacuuming it and than reapplying (doing it 4 times) Is this okay heatlh wise and am i doing to much unneeded work? 2. I put cimexa on all the edges of my carpets and in my drawers and in the outlets, should i put it all over the carpet and is it okay to leave on carpet and breathe this chemical? 3. When should I unbagg all my belongings? 4. Should I go through my kitchen cabinets and look up bed bugs in cabinets & should I bag up all my stuff in kitchen ? Im sorry for all the questions but I just want to get rid of these damm ugly creatures..... If I shampoo carpet do i need to than lay the cemexa in all the edges agian and leave it untouched for ever??????
I had lived in an apartment building That was so Infested that they were crawling up my curtains during the day with the Sun shining through! Also, seen them behind picture frames on walls and nightstand.
Lord have mercy just found bed bugs. Its late and I gotta get up early for work. Thankful I found your video because every mattress was going get thrown away tomorrow
I caught the 1st several bugs over a month span. Found only 1 and then nothing for 2 weeks. I put the 1st one in a jar to take pix to see what it was for sure. Forgot about the jar. 2 weeks later grabbed the jar to grab another one, 1st one was still alive!! As the 2nd one fell in jar, 1st beast attacked it and ate it quickly! SO thankful that jar had a lid!!+
Joel Z, I have a new bed that came encased in a zipper, no signs of feces, but there are some blood stains very small. Metal frame, inspected everywhere and can't find the nest. It is a memory foam mattress that is triple encased I still get bit, but trying to find some DE to spread around before work.
@ Joel Z. Williams, I don't see any. but when I sprayed with 91 % Alcohol, then turn on the lights then I see 1 or 2 crawling behind the headboard. But I can't find them.
sir. thank you for this informative video. unfortunately I found out yesterday that apartment im getting ready to move into.....the previous tenant had bedbugs! *** so I will be applying your methods before I move in and constantly monitoring. I will never let my guard down! id rather deal with roaches than these nasty things.
"would rather deal with roaches then these nasty things"...testament to how terrible these critters are. i swear they are almost mythical in their abilities..
Thank you so much Mr. Williams I tried this method (the bed bug traps) My yest did not have the ferment like yours did but I still used it after mixing two batches if it does not work I will try to find the name brand you have It was active yeast though.I will let you know how it works,Thank You again
This is great brother 😊 your a good man to share best way to eliminate these little vampires. This way worksnperfectly.and it's simple without paying big bucks. I has estimates of 700 to 1600 to do my small apartment . Big pest control is big buisness. Also a few companies big Orkin and others told me chemical treatment is great we will come back up to 3 times included in the 1300 yes 13 hundred. . Your method cost me under 10.bucks. Awesome and it works. I used parchment bake paper on iron on top of plastic that was to be bonded together and it sealed the plastic perfect. Thank you for sharing the best way and LOWEST cost possible to eliminate these things. Yes 4 mill is nice thick poly as welll
Thank you very much for reporting back with your success story. More people need to hear these. I think a lot of people are very skeptical because I didn't actually use live bugs when I made the trap videos. It's just too risky to have them in your home even experimentally.
I did it the cheep way for two weeks and no bites on the bed. I used 70% alcohol, it was all I could find and it worked great. I now have bought four $1 mattress covers with three $1 rolls of duct tape equals $7 total from a dollar store. Plus about $4 for alcohol. It has been about 3 weeks and no bed bugs.I am just wondering Mr. Williams how did you get started in doing this for a living. Did you have a bed bug problem?
You can use Creolina, its a floor desinfectant used in Latin America, Also for sealing the plastic you can use a cooking sheet and iron to seal the plastic together and use tape for extra protection or flat iron work well too. Smoke does affixiate Bed Bugs. CATCH AND TRIAL.
University not, My grandmothers home remedies worked once and never saw one ever again and in a neighboring house the lady could not resist smoke so creolina was used and so did the work. Perhaps you would be happy just researching both? Not just University Researches have all the answers you know. Back in the days the have passion fruit and Lavender by bed to avoid these pesk. Just saying you trying these and see your results.
JimmyLani sounds like you are turning the burden of proving your claim over to me. I can save you the trouble, it doesn't work reliably against all strains of cimex lectularias. Reliability in the pest control world is viewed as 92% kill rate. Smoke may kill some of the bugs but you can rest assured that many of the eggs survived. It's just that some people are less reactive to the bedbug bites than others. Trust me, greater minds than yours our your grandmother are currently working on developing ways to eradicate these pests. Perhaps you should review this link: www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/bedbugs-many-diy-methods-of-getting-rid-of-them-dont-work-but-some-do/2013/11/25/17870956-52bb-11e3-9e2c-e1d01116fd98_story.html
Sir, not every person that gives their opinion is going to be backed by university, though they research and closely view the changes and effects of thee, perhaps thats how they are still trying to erradicate this, by taking people remedies in consideration. These pest are driven to have a meal all how right, Im guessing if trying does not hurt, Creolina in it concentrate will eliminate this pest, can it be found in US maybe bought over the internet. Maybe can be brought to the universities attention so it could be considered. I have never seen this pest alive while I have seen the neighbor body full off hives and dead bugs, 10 months without incidents, and continue with combo every 3 months. And we know that it could survived certain amount without feeding thanks to university research. I do not know how i got to your channel, I admire the fact that you are helping people and giving them information. And looks like a lot of them do come for advice, I though I offered some of success too.
After watching this video. I returned my Amazon bedding encasement which was 45+$$ for mattress & box spring. I checked my box spring & i found them, So I bought (one roll) 3.5mm from WalMart for $7.98. It enclosed both my queen size mattress & box spring and had some left over. I sprayed (box spring & mattress with PURE 91% alcohol- Plus adding the Bed bug powder on both B4 i wrapped them).IF U are going to wrap them (don't just do the box spring (like He did) in this video-WRAP/Enclose BOTH of them!! I stapled the box spring and enclosed the rest corners/(like he did with duct tape). I don't plan on taking the plastic off. This is a Good idea for Ppl who's on a fixed income & can't afford a $400 exteriminator fee. It only cost me $7.98 + 2 roll's of 97c duct tape ( i already had the staple gun).
sir. thanks for responding to me. I will be watching your video that you suggested I watch. ive subscribed to your RU-vid channel. Thanks for all the hard work and time you put in helping people like me. you are a blessing. Because you dont have to do this! you could be doing other things with your time. Thanks again.
Any advice on home remedy for preventing dogs from getting bit by chiggers. Ive seen several videos where people said they used apple cidar vinegar, mix with a little water and spray on my dogs before going outside. THANKS AGAIN FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS. Have a blessed day and week ahead of you.
No, sorry I don't know anything about preventing that, but I have had chiggers before. It's amazing to me how something so small can create such misery.
shawn west Hi there, Just jumping in here 👋 I know it’s 3 years later but dog lovers always have dogs 💜 I live in Oklahoma & boy do we know what chigger’s can do! When one moves in they bring the entire family!! We Hate Chiggers!!! Returning from the woods from hunting etc.. to get them off of myself or my kids or my dogs I put a cup of bleach into a tub of water and get in for about 5 minutes. For dogs bring a biggie cup and just keep pouring it down & over them. Chiggers choke out quickly. You should smell bleach slightly but it should NOT be overwhelming. Also mineral oil will suffocate them if they have a hot spot area. Really Vaseline or similar- just apply a thick amount and leave it alone for a little bit. They suffocate. Wipe it off and they’re done. Any thick lubricant type oil will work to suffocate ticks or chiggers. Put eucalyptus essential oil in a spray bottle with water & spray their bedding & the under side of bedding & crate trays. They don’t like peppermint oil either so whichever is more pleasant to you. In a tight money situation just lather your pooch up with water & dawn dish soap and leave it on for 5 minutes. Dawn dish soap kills chiggers AND fleas & penetrates the eggs! Then follow with a conditioner that replenishes their natural oils so they’re not itchy- Dawn literally strips the oils away but it does work amazingly well. A little olive oil can be a good thing because it’s natural after a Dawn dish soap bath. Dollar Tree store has a Sunflower or Safflower oil/olive oil blend that we use after showers that’s super sweet for dry skin & I use it on my dogs too! I always feel especially bad for pets because they can’t speak but we know they are miserable when things are crawling around and biting them 🐕 🐶. I think it’s wonderful that you care so much ✌️✌️✌️ Good luck with the pest issues!
