I didn’t intend to quit. I’m within a few days of one year without it. I quit because I got sick last year and smoking made me feel worse so I just couldn’t. After 20 enjoyable years of productivity and creativity I had to quit for the weeks I was ill. And then for some reason I decided that since I went through the withdrawal process that I would keep going. The only thing I didn’t like about smoking in the first place was the dependency. Microdosing everyday. It made living so much better. YET even though I’ve put in the work to give it up, I still have dreams all night long, wake up groggy like I’ve been busy all night, have mild to moderate depression and feel life as more mundane than I used to. But here I am watching another of your encouraging videos to try and figure out what’s best for me. Thanks for your help.

Cannabis is a powerful spirit. Im trying to quit because its been 23 years and its not the same effect anymore. It used to produce an intense body high but in the last 13 years it produces mostly a head high paired with instense panic and anxiety. Im over it. But its become like a cup off coffee or a pack of cigaretts. Ive gone a week just fine then without thinking got to the shop and get a 2 grams then find myself unhappy i didnt get the nostalgic effect i desired but only the effects i dislike. Then back the next week over and over. My life has been mediocre because of pot. Im 37 and am trying to break the cycle and repair my body and improve my life while I have a little bit of youth left.

i was introduced to weed at 12 years old. I just quit after 40 years smoking everyday. I'm in my 6th week. Its not easy but I am determined to beat this addiction. The first three weeks were savage. Nights sweats. Intense vivid dreams. Awful anxiety and I was very irritable. Generally feeling very troubled inside and easily triggered by anything annoying. Body clock was also totally messed up. I realised I did not want to be battling fatigue while battling this addiction also and so I found taking valium helped a lot for the first two weeks. I would take just 5mg at night. It helped me sleep and took the edge off the violent manic feelings inside. Now I do not take valium and doing it the natural way and can deal with the continuing but not as aggressive withdrawals. The hardest part is making one’s mind up, that can take years. We say to ourselves “Il stop tomorrow” but tomorrow never seems to come. However, once you have made your mind up abstinence is relatively easy. I must be honest though; there will be times you are tested. You will desire a smoke but resist, the desire passes quickly once you get busy doing something (Wash the pots, clean the house, take the dog out for a walk, distract yourself, get creative). The first 4- 6 weeks can be a bit rough, even savage at times. You will feel irritable, a bit scatty and even lost. You’re sleeping patterns and apatite will be all over the place. You will sweat (I use to put a spare T shirt on the bed to change at night). Your dreams will be vivid and intense. However after the initial six weeks it gets easier, things calm down and life starts to feel good again. The few weeks of feeling uncomfortable are so worth it in the end. When I was young smoking weed was fun but as I aged it just made me lethargic and depressed. I isolated myself in a fuzzy cosy bubble and weed became the only thing that mattered. I would wake up and have a coffee and a smoke (wake and bake) then smoke all day until bedtime. I needed a smoke before doing anything. I would overthink unimportant things and spend a lot of time negatively obsessing about the past. Everyday seemed the same, the same fuzzy blurry often depressing day for nearly forty years. Towards the end I was sometimes spending up to £400+ a month on weed, literally money up in smoke!. I was a slave to it. Now I have stopped my mental health has dramatically improved. I go to bed at regular hours and sleep normally. I am thinking positively and can be bothered to do stuff. I have a spring in my step and life has a sparkle to it again. I feel like a new person, I feel human again. I am also saving a lot of money. All that said, after smoking for so long I do feel I need to be off the stuff for much longer (maybe one or two years) before I truly feel the benefits. After 40 years of smoking, my body has a lot of cleaning out to do and I am still healing. I am a work in progress. I feel confident I will not return to my old habits and because of that I have much to look forward to. I am in a happier place and love life again. Keep up the good work. You can do this. Take it one day at a time, before you know it six months has passed, then one year. You have much to look forward to. Good Luck X

I’ve quit smoking more for a little less than a week and here’s what I’m going through right now… Physical: - Nausea (not vomiting but I’ve done so in the past… yeah this, sadly, is not my first rodeo) - loss of apatite - some body aches - clammy; sweating profusely - sensitivity to temperature in relation to “chills”. - Insomnia - probably one or two more I can’t think of our am not correlating. Mental: - I know why I want to quit now and why I wanted to quit in the past so I utilize those facts/perspectives to reinforce my decision. - cravings come and go. I’ve dealt with them in the past so these cravings are manageable right now; I do feel them getting stronger and stronger though. Not by much, and less than before, but still climbing:P. - in the past, I just wanted to stop. But I’m currently at the point now where I’m trying to reason with weed and I gotta say, I make a pretty damn good argument; hard to refute. I tried to do this before but then was a different time and place. I’m in a much better place today and , while getting high is fun, it’s dangerous… some of you may not remember or know, but there’s an episode of spongebob that addresses addiction, it’s called, “Hooks”, if I’m not mistaken. I recommend watching it for entertainment purposes but the message in the episode is so childishly simply I couldn’t help but to laugh at myself and remind myself to actually take this seriously, because it is. Anyway, it feels a lot like the last scene, where maybe you can just get one more fix and then you’ll “kick the stuff for good”, but I know better than that. Here’s where my brain makes an argument… getting high from flower/grass/herb FEELS cleaner than carts to me. Okay, so what if you only smoke those things occasionally? Once or twice a year? Maybe??? But why did I fal back into this rut in the first place… well I was chasing a high I thought I would only let last a few hours… that was months ago… AND I wasn’t nearly as educated as I should’ve been, and I’m still not but YOUR channel/work and the community that’s nestled itself within this space provide a support network I hadn’t known before. I’ve been able to identify thoughts and emotions that stem from my addiction, things I couldn’t distinguish between myself and these addictions in the past and that’s helping me stay on that straight and narrow. Any way, ramble done. tldr - I’ve got problems, but thank you for helping me through them

Day 43 cold turkey after 16 years of heavy daily use (Smoking high caliber flower). The last 18 months+ of my smoking the once miracle drug no longer worked for me at all. I tried every strain in the dispensary i.e., indica, highbred, Sativa's, low-dose, high THC, etc. and accomplished nothing but psychosis and an empty bank account. My withdrawal symptoms after cessation ran the whole gamut and were a ghoulish nightmare. Insomnia, anxiety, hostility, nausea, violent outbursts, brain fog...you name it. Today (day 43) I am far from 100% but quantum leaps better than I was while I was smoking and during the peak withdrawals. I can't emphasize enough how much better. For me, present day, I have no desire to let that Genie back out of the bottle. I, based on my experiences, dating back to the mid-1980's, do not recommend long term daily use.

It didn't feel right, hugging myself etc. I'd love to smoke, watched a few more vids of the doc. I think, I've decided, I'm not going for it. I'm at a resort and I'll just be Hella paranoid about myself... Body dysmorphophobia when nothing is wrong with it! Any paranoid thought, ain't worth it. And the whole, 'i was in this country and a smoked weed, it's illegal there and I was at a resort' ain't really something cool to be bragging about. I'm more thinking lung health tho, I'm back into running and I believe this relapse, if I go/went for it, would set me back. The whole mindset of, 'damn, I've smoked and it weren't worth it etc. might as well carry on or like, ah, I CBA to run, I'm not going to smoke also but I'll run tomorrow, the next, the next, delays upon delays'... Plus, detoxing from a drug, my body's gone this far, feeling good, it would only send it a fair few steps back. Hmmmm.

I am trying to quit since 3 years. I managed many many times 3 months. Now I am on my highest streak around 165 days. BUT TODAY I REALLY CONSIDER TAKING A FEW HITS…..I am very very flatlined and life brings me no joy. Also I am lonely as fuck so I ask myself why not having a little pleasure and „fun“ / enjoyment….I know longterm it’s no fun for me. And I know I said many times just one split but somehow I think my life is just empty and nothing that I want to do right now. I feel like I want to have a good time with an old friend and have one spliff
@RepublicOfWesternCanadaNOW

I've quit cannabis numerous times and all of my streaks were ruined by "just one time". Every time I've went for just "one more" I ended up back in daily use almost immediately or 2-7 days after. You'll just want to smoke it again after that time. Don't do it. I hope I can encourage you to stay strong. Nostalgia is a killer.

Been sober from weed for 6 months. On the verge of relapsing. Doing multiple jobs, part-time school and cardio workouts constantly is starting to stress me out. I still have some left over weed stored and I think I'm on the verge of taking just one hit and back to being 100% sober again. But I'm having conflicting thoughts because I think it might pull me back to my daily smoker self.

I been clean from THC for a long time now, but it bothers me people judge me saying "he will not get clean" yet they smoke every day and judge me for drinking or taking legal OTC pills. I learned to put these people out of my life. They mean nothing to me, they think they are better, they are no different than the drunkard. I am going to quit alcohol then DXM. I am tired of this crap life. I will move forward while passing these people up. God will help me. Crazy people smoke excessive amounts of weed and want to judge me for taking legal drugs. I need to invest my focus on new people. Weed makes you lazy, horny(bad), slow reflexes, slow thought, failing drug tests, I could go on but if weed was not a drug it would not cause withdrawls. THC is like alcohol, when you quit the drug, most times you realize the per son you are with sucks, aka not compatible. Heard with many couples, usually married. No jabs at anyone, just speaking the truth.

3 years, 4 months, and 15 days clean from weed. Man this sucks.. it helped to quit and I was able to gain emotional control and minimize anxiety but it also makes it hard to cope with stupid people and all the problems that come with being a manager of people and dealing with their bullshit.
