One thing is that copper is bad for shrimp it is highly toxic to shrimp but most ferts don’t have a concerning amount, some ferts that don’t have copper are ADA, Green Aqua, Tropica and some others
Hi Mark my name is Tony, I live in Cyprus I have been following you on you tube for quite some time now, I have been a fish keeper for 30 year's, I am now ready to set up an 80 litre planted aquarium, I just want to say thank you so much for explaining correctly all about planted aquariums, please keep up the good work.
You made the video simple by adding the topic in the description... And it's easy from viewers side... finally I realised why I got pale yellow at the shoot
Thank you for doing videos for low tech tanks too.. lot of beginners like myself get confused with videos meant for high tech tanks with CO2 systems..I learnt my lesson dosing too much fertiliser, not knowing what to get and too much light.. thanks for the video 🙏🏾
Great beginner guide, everything you want to knows as a beginner. The faq about fertilizer and algea was important - too much and too little fertilizer can cause problems. Another thing that is important to mention is the dosing - the recommended dosing is often much too little - especially if you have a densely planted tank, strong light and CO2. But thats maybe next level:)
I wish I had come across your videos much earlier when getting into this hobby. I watched lots of videos about fertilizing planted tanks and none were as approachable as this. Thanks!
Thanks alot for the vid. May I ask, so for newbie like myself, what I will need for my aquarium planted fish tank: - fertilizer all in one (choose from the recommended list) - light - co2 Am I right, with the above mentioned will make my plants healthy? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance! 🙏
Hey Rick! Dat is de bubblegun diffuser van Creaqua. Heb ik een keertje gesponsored gekregen via Instagram, Volgens mij is het verder nergens te koop alleen in Turkije waar Creaqua gevestigd is.
Very useful! I am actually using all-in-one. Happy about it,plus I add some liquid iron as well from the planted box. Another question… do you advice to do waterchanges with R0 water, tap water or a mix?
Great videos Mark. I always get a bit confused on how much to dose should I just go by the bottles instructions or should I increase over time. Thanks.
I would start with half the recommended dose that's suggested on the bottle. Then just keep an eye on your plants! And if you don't see good growth or notice some deficiency you can increase it.
ill just add something about liquid carbon, its not a CO2 injection replacement, it provided some of the intermediate products plants produce using CO2, so that the similar hydrocarbon chains are available in the same size for the plant to use in its processes, basically, liquid carbon provides just the stuff plants will absorb to do the same stuff they will do using CO2, but its not replacement. But in my experience it helps, I use the sechem liquid carbon, it definitely helped in my plant health and growth.
Once again a great video from you! I really enjoy watching your videos and hope you can give me a tip, how would you adjust the nutrient balance of phosphate to nitrate for good growth? I'm still testing with the two values at the moment, thanks and keep it up! Greetings Tobi
Hi MJ, just made aquascape with base layer of sand and gravel..Can i depend only root tabs with some liquid fertilizer for crypt, vallisneria???!! Expecting your valuable suggestions....
Great video!! A complicated subject presented in a simple way. This video was for a while in my pending list and glad I finally watched it! Need to adjust my fertilizing a bit. How often you add ferts to your nano tanks? Cheers!
What an amazing video guide, congratulations! Can I used as reference for a vídeo in Portugues (Brazil), and link it to your channel? Here the begginers has a lot of doubts and very pour information (only complex lectures about the topic with chemical equations and so on...). Follow all your videos for month now and the work is getting better each day!
If I could learn to keep algae under control, I’d probably have more tanks. But I’ve been in a situation before with multiple tanks with major algae issues and it was a total nightmare!
Very good guide 👌. About copper, yes concentrations is minimal and normally is chelated (in that form not poison, stable not reactive). Saludos from Chile
Very good to explain about fertilizer ... I am beginner in planted aquarium .. at present I am using APT 3 all in one for my dense plant but confuse for my low tech no co2 nanao tank which have only fern and anubias ... May I use tropica premium nutrion fertilizer for nano setup?
Hello. please tell me if I add Easy Life ProFito is an all-in-one to my aquarium with RO water mineralized with Seachem Equilibrium will the plants have all the nutrients they need for healthy growth?
Great video! I have a question though. My vimi fertilizers suggest drops according to whether tank is low or high planted. How should I decide in which category my tank goes into?
Hi MJ, First of all thanks for the great explenation! Some how i couldn't find the links for the recommended fertilizers. Can you please send me these?
Hi MJ, Thanx for all the information you give to us.. I've a simple question for you. The lean method scheme how do you calculate that? And when do you give what kind of fertilizer? The EI was very clear there in. but the mimimal or lean method is for me a question. For your interest i've an 160 liter cube tank with 2 gourami's, some oto's, some cory's, some pencilfish and at last some shrimp most of the tank is planted. I only replenish my fertilizer on the liters i got out and refill. so i think im low on fertilizer. but some hair algae and green spotted algae are seen.. I like to hear your advice your sincerely, Koos
When you use Aqua soil and you start adding liquid fertiliser after 3 weeks. How you start with? As per recommendation in bottle or gradually increase?
