In this video, I try going step by step to show just how EASY it is to pressure can proteins. BEAT INFLATION! It's cheaper to can your own food than to buy it at the store. KNOW whats in your food! If you can your own food - YOU control what goes into it!
I try to include information and tips that were helpful for me to know when I first began pressure canning. Home canned chicken is WAY more delicious than canned chicken from the store. Do not be intimidated!!! If I can do this, SO CAN YOU! Having canned meats on your pantry shelves is an absolute blessing for those days youve forgotten to thaw meats and need something quick. Canned meats are ready to go as is and can be thrown into any dish last minute. Don't put it off any longer. Learn how to can NOW! Its a great skill to have!

I love having this in the pantry! I also can hamburger, turkey, ham, venison, pork, smoked sausage, fish, etc. All the broths. So handy to have. ❤❤xxoo

I never adjust my flame while I'm waiting to get to temp. When I get to 15lb. pressure then I adjust my heat. Also the temp. gauge isn't always accurate. Its safer to go by the gentle rocking of the weight. If both match you are good to go but if the weight doesn't rock you could be processing at a lower temp and not know it.

Was really nice hearing your opinions on pressure canning, and think that you were going to be death of your family and all that. My entire family and on both sides of my parents family don't have any experience with food preservation, especially pressure canning. Every new skill I've learned has felt like a massive barrier of entry because my family is always looking at me like I'm crazy when I am clearly not. I'll figure out pressure canning one day too.

This has been one of the best pressure canning videos that I've come across! You went into detail, explained things and showed some of the process that I wasn't sure about. I've always been intimidated with pressure canning and this makes me want to dive right in! Just found you on RU-vid and have been enjoying your videos. Thanks!

Great video girlie! We started canning and freeze drying this year and it been so much fun! I have yet to can any chicken though, but this video gave me the push I needed ....I think the jars are so pretty!!!! Btw...get some batteries for your smoke alarm...your safety matters to me!!

We raised meat chickens this year for the first time. I need to free up freezer space due to deer season starting up in a couple weeks. Would it be ok to take whole birds out of the freezer, defrost, and then can like this? I have NEVER pressure canned meats, but I really want to give it a go!

Absolutely! You can thaw meats and can them up. I do that to free up freezer space as well.

I have an electric stove with a glass top and am very unsure about using the stovetop to can anything. I am currently saving to get an electric pressure canner after seeing several RU-vidrs using them.

I don't blame you. I have seen some youtubers that use theirs on glass stovetops but that never has sat well with me. I have heard great things about the electric pressure canners! I hope you are able to get one!!🙂

Can you add fajita seasoning in with the chicken when you can it?

Yes, you can. You can even add onions and peppers, too. Personally, I don't mind my onions cooking down in the process, but the peppers I usually hold off on so they're a bit more crisp.

Generally, home canned chicken will last on the shelf for 2-5 years. For the best quality and nutritional value, it is best to consume within one year. However, there are others out there who have stored it for much longer and say it was totally fine. 😊

You just cut the heat off. Let it sit until the pressure is down to zero and then wait a few minutes for the little nozzle in the front to drop back down. Then, open the lid and unload the jars.😊

I just did my first batch of chicken my pressure gauge went to 12 so I cut my heat down in a minute it went to ten and I brought it back to 11 I hope all will be ok
