Man, I completely forgot about these amps. Sounded better than I would have expected, and once you got the gain dialed in with the ping-pong delay, it sounded - dare I say - great, at least recorded. Great review, great story, and great playing, as always!

I had forgotten about them too and when I saw it on Reverb I was thrown back 20 years into the past! It definitely ended up sounding better through the mics than it did in the room :P

@@LucasFowler indeed. I had a Peavey XXL for a while and it sounded pretty decent in the room, but for some reason it just excelled at being mic’d. My Marshall tube amp, on the other hand, always seemed t record pretty loosely and fizzly, but sounded angelic in the room. Weird how some amps are like that.

Really loved the Scholtz distortion you were getting on that amp. I've been looking an affordable way to get that tone. Great work as always!

Interesting... I always had Behringer down as "cheap and cheerful"...but have been consistently surprised at how good some of their stuff can sound. Theres one of these for sale near me locally...I might get it now. Just out of curiosity. Not that I NEED...another amp! 😂 Really great playing, as usual, Lucas. I genuinely DO think that you are one of the most talented guitar players on RU-vid. And...Ive seen about 99% of them.

World’s greatest amp? Clearly not. Way better than some tiny lunch box sized “beginner” amp? Definitely. I’m just listening on my phone speakers, but it was fascinating how much character upping the gain on the clean channel and then switching to no gain on the high channel added. Mostly it just seemed to soften up the attack transience in a pleasing way. It was also wild how you suddenly sounded like Boston, lol
