I really really really need to tell my new grad labor delivery story. These experiences you had happens more often than not. I've had my RN license since July 5th and have worked at two hospitals, got hired at another hospital and finally secured the job of my dreams. For any new grad watching this video or reading this comment, please never settle. We aint go through hell to get these rn degrees for nothing. There are plenty of positions RNs can obtain. Trust me. Thank you Bria for telling your story.

Hi! I’m in the same situation! I left two jobs as a new grad nurse. And am freaking out if I will still be marketable. In my case those two jobs were critical care high level acquity. I love working with baby’s and the maternal population and I’m really fixated on getting into Mother Baby. How was the interview process for you explaining everything ?

I love how candid and raw you are! A lot of times people make it seem like it’s all rainbow and butterflies when in reality is straight chaos..people think nursing is about taking cute pics with your figs uniform and stethoscope around their neck with #nurselife but it’s not that glamorous!

My problem is I can’t hold my tongue, I’m Caribbean n I got a smart mouth like a doctor is literally a co worker not your boss, I can’t deal with anyone talking down to me yes correct me and give me constructive criticism but don’t be mean or disrespectful I’m so sorry that happened to you. The bullying is unacceptable. Great video😊

I maybe wrong but it seems like the preceptor threw you under the bus leaving you alone. SMH. You handled that scenario excellent. That couldve turned out so differently. Nursing is no joke. Im so glad you choose selfcare and put yourself first. What man meant for evil, GOD turned it around for your good. 💪🏾 👩🏾‍⚕️🏥

I’m definitely going through this. I’m 6months in. I still get a lot of anxiety when I go to work and get off work. Smh… I think nurses were supposed to be good because we deal with lives, helping people recover and all that. But, nurses can be the meanest humans ever! I wasn’t prepared for that.

We can all relate! This is why I left my medsurg position after 1 year. The stress, depression, anxiety etc was not worth it. I lost so much weight from not being able to eat. The depression would make me lose appetite on my days off. On my days off I was irritable, depressed , anxious. I would spend the evenings in my room listening to music not wanting to move a muscle. I couldn’t go on any longer mentally, I was burned out. It was to the point of where my PCP was offering me antidepressants because I was really going through it girl. I didn’t end up taking them because what’s the point of being in a job and having to take those to feel some sort of happiness? I’ve had nasty doctors as well. One made me cry because I was clarifying a heparin drip. My coworkers were amazing though I miss them so much. I can honestly say I’ve never encountered the nurses eat their young because they all understood we were new. I ended up leaving and now I’m with an agency but only because I am so conflicted on whether I want to be in a hospital setting or not. So now I’m working with the agency and start a clinic position tomorrow on a contract.

Everything you are saying is accurate!!! It’s younger nurses who are two years in trying to bully me. I’m like two years is not far from 9 months. You are still a novice nurse too! I had to move to night shift just to get away from some people. I used to be so angry coming to work. Then I had to think about it. I’m working towards a bigger goal and I will get there! I am not staying at my current job for too much longer. I give myself time to get it together because I know I need to have a level head going in. Critical care is tough but going to work shouldn’t be. It’s way better but then you have some people who have issues and try to take it out on you. My co workers don’t show me that they like me. Lol so I just go to work and do my job. I do have a few people I talk to and that’s cool. Girl as soon as my year hits I am looking elsewhere.

I work as a pharmacy technician and when I tell you the anxiety was REAL working retail! I had to type rxs while answering the phone and go to the counter. Then, I was the meds delivery driver too. What was the last straw for me was seeing my coworker watch Tik tak for 2 hours while I was typing up rxs. No one said a word! That and the passive bullying. I was blessed to be hired in at my local hospital and I love not having to deal with the same stressors no more. It’s sad when I too wanted to be in a car accident so I didn’t have to go in to work.

Many moons ago, I used to work as a CNA in a nursing home that treated the staff very poorly. I felt that same anxiety when going to work. I would cry knowing I had to go in. Get headaches as soon as I pulled into the parking lot and would call out right there. I didn't care who saw me. I remember you saying before that you aren't a confrontational person, and I'm not either, but sometimes you have to let people know that they're just not going to talk to you any kind of way regardless of their position. I've had to do that and trust me, you'll feel a lot better. Work on some nice/nasty comebacks lol. Because once that doctor said that I've come a long way, I would have told her...thanks, so did you. Sorry for the long comment but I'm sitting here mad for you 🤣

I’ve been a nurse for a little over a year and 1 year and a month after being in postpartum I left and started in L&D. It really is a lot but being a new grad is just a lot in itself bc it’s like a whole new world! I had a similar situation and it turned me away from my first job. Lol I’m trying to hang in there being new all over again. That’s as very inappropriate of that doctor to make those nasty comments. YOU GOT THIS! Thank you for posting! I’ll finish the video now lol I hope it gets better! ☺️

nursing student here, we did a clinical at L and D it was horrible! the nurses were in the station just talking and gossiping all day. They would gossip about how a Doctor talked, made fun of his accent. Then this patient came to be triaged and they were basically calling her slow because she answered the questions not confidently... it just rubbed me the wrong way that they're doing this so freely infront of a student. what do they do when nobodies there?

The lactated ringer lady….I would’ve straight up said “Thank you for letting me know. See you on my next shift.” And hung up. Lol clearly I need to learn to bite my tongue. Hiding facial expressions is definitely something I need to learn to master.

I did the same thing I was hoping that something would happen. It’s sad panic attacks and everything . No sleep irritated and ready to quit thinking why did I do this to myself. And this is almost a year in.

Unless, you a nurse you don't understand. You need a new hospital. If there men nurses there you would be most happy.
