I figured out that I was trans because in primary school I was talking with my friends about how I wished I had short hair, how I wished my voice was deeper ect, and then a guy shouted "tr*nny!" at me, so I researched it, and realised I fit the label pretty well.
I've been a bully in primary school. I was very homophobic. I'm not proud of it. Now I'm gay and the person I bullied is my best friend. Don't bully kids, it's stupid and only causes you anxiety later in life
We never stop growing, and it's wonderful, that you grew out of your homophobia and came out of the closet. A closet is no place to live. Your best friend sounds like a wonderful person.

It never occurred to me that Jamie *actually* existed in the real world until he appeared in this video. I love the guy so much, he is a great role model for trans guys (speaking from experience)
Coming out as a gay tranguy was difficult for me, I wish I had had a better experience. Slowly coming around to telling the rest of my family, but the few of my family I have told are not supportive or even make an effort. I hope that when I get to start T that things will change. We shall see, we shall see. I am happy you guys did this video, and I adore you both with all my heart!
I finally admitted to my self a few weeks ago that I am trans at 28 years old the process I'm going to have to go through stresses me out sooo much lol

Omg I know the struggle- my mom told me “I support the lgbtq+ but trans people aren’t valid and gay marriage is weird but I’m an ally”. Why? Because I was explaining to her how I support trans and I want her to stop being transphobic ?. I don’t think she gets it. AND she wants me to have kids at 25. My mom had my brother at 25, then her and her boyfriend broke up. My brother had a kid at 25, him and his girlfriend broke up. I don’t want to have kids, and I’m not attracted to men. I’m not sure what I like but I’m not gonna have kids. What the hell am I supposed to do??

I am trans too and I really like seeing this video and hearing what he has experienced. My parents also never had a problem with me wearing boy clothes etc. I am 22 and I hopefully start T soon (have an appointment at a hormone doctor on 20 May, we'll see what he says) and I really can't wait to grow a beard one day, this is like, one of the things I'm excited to experience the most xD I am at a college at the moment where all the people are really open and call me by the correct pronouns and the right name without asking unnecessary questions. At the moment I have the problem that i will leave that school this summer and I have to find a job and i am really scared of applying for jobs because for that I'll have to use my old name since it's still the official one and I really don't want to do that... Edit: what Jamie says about the bullying and the changing if clothes to fit in, I experienced exactly the same and after a while I was just like, Fuck it, let them talk shit if they like, I won't change myself for some idiots
It’s not just you. I also get major anxiety around straight men, as does my boyfriend. For me, it’s the fear that I’m going to be judged or even hurt for who I am and it sucks I feel like that but I think it comes down to what we see growing up, like television showing straight men punishing gay men for being gay ie. Priscilla: Queen of the Desert.

This is so relatable, that's literally me when talking to a straight guy, i'm like in my head asking myself how I should act like, do I just say i'm trans or do I say nothing and like what do I talk about... all that stuff makes it really hard to have guy friends
My timeline is about the same. I thought I was a boy in kindergarten, puberty hit and I realized something was "wrong", and then I realized at 16 that I'm trans. I'm so glad to see these two doing a colab video!
Honestly straight guys at my school still call everything gay and call each other gay as an insult and use the f slur and it's just like omg so many people are lgbtq at my school so just leave us alone lmao
once this straight dude in my history class was waving the rainbow flag and throwing it around (it belonged to the teacher) and my teacher told him off. im so grateful my mom put me in such an accepting school
Boys at my school joke around and call each other gay all the time and in my math class they were having a debate on whether or not a guy would be a hypocrite if he was gay and a preacher it was really funny especially after one of them stood up and yelled BUT GOD LOVES EVERYONE SO WHY DO Y'ALL CARE SO MUCH ABOUT SEXUALITY

I’m not a lesbian, but I remember once I randomly got called a d*ke when I was young and I remember going to my parents asking what that was and they said it was a rude word for lesbian and I was like “what’s wrong with being a lesbian?”. I was so confused about why being a lesbian would be a bad thing 🤷🏼♀️
I was bullied at school, one of the boys Sam tormented me and at college I got with a friend if his and he matured and on the last day he apologised for bullying me now I see him on my way to work and we talk as he was the only bully to apologise for his mistakes and became a better person
Definitely agree that we still have a way to go with trans rights and acceptance. I am much more comfortable sharing that I like men with people and say I'm gay than tell people I'm non binary.
honestly as a younger person being told like ok you need to see someone i always thought like what if they say i’m not trans or like am i not trans enough and i think it’s awful because i know who i am and i did at the time yet i got nervous

“is always other people telling you who you are first” You described my life, before I realized that I like girls there was that boy who used to call me d*ke, but I didn't know what that meant. And when I came out as lesbian there was another boy who would frequently ask me if I would turn into a boy, and now, years since that, i'm questioning my gender
(rewatching this video in 2021) the interesting part of this video is when you both talk about slurs and things. I grew up on a fairly chill household and I didn't much about slurs for minority groups. I didn't know what the N-word was until I was 12 and I didn't know what f*gg*t meant until I was closer to 14 or 15. It's so interesting how language has changed over the years and how someone's upbringing is a key element of understanding.
As to the bullying: I was bullied for several reasons (being effeminate, being alternative, stuttering,...), so when they for once picked on someone else I was so relieved and wanted so desperately to belong, that I not only joined in the bullying but became especially horrible. Like... really really hurtful. I knew at the time that it was wrong, but I didn't want to think about it. But several years later I actually went to a reuinion and met the guy I had bullied and I felt so ashamed I immediately appologized and almost burst into tears... He did accept my apology, though, which still feels great

I've been watching you for about 4 weeks now... and I'm getting more and more obsessed with your videos... said it before, will say it again... LOVE your personality! And to this video and people who were not good to you in school... I now consider myself as a nice and openminded person (hope my environment will agree :D )... but I know when I was younger, that there were 2-3 people that I treated baldy! I apologised to them a few years ago. It was not easy, going up to somebody after 20 years and saying "sorry for how I treated you!"... but it was worth it. The one girl is now one of my best friends. I think most people change and I bet a lot of them might be looking back and might regret how they treated you... however saying sorry is very hard to do. Obviously not everybody will have matured in that why... Love both of your channels :)
I totally agree. When awareness first starts to be spread, it leads to stereotypes. That's why we need diverse representation from the beginning. Not one story being retold, but all the diversity.
Love what you discussed about school, its so true about behaviours in school and how things have changed. Girls who dressed masculine would get picked on a lot, everyone knew who the 'gays' and the 'lesbians' in the school were (only the open ones anyway). Idk if its still like that now the internet changed things but Im guessing it still happens. But a lot of people were just immature and loved stirring up gossip.

Ummm my old deputy head at school was called Mrs Amy Partridge and she worked in the mental health and lgbt area at school so I was shocked when u said that name
When I came out it was really funny cause I was so in denial about the situation to like a point where I had literally changed my name pronouns but was still convinced I was a cis female. summary every had known I was trans for at least over a year before I did :)

When Jamie is talking about saying "that's so gay" now not being accepted but in both the secondary schools that I've been to it was still the norm and I find that so interesting. Idk if that's just because of where I grew up? Idk but even people of the lgbtq+ community who were openly out would still use it as an insult. Idk I just find it interesting to hear about different experiences.
I didn't really think about my gender as a Child. I was free to play with whatever and I was free to do forest harvesting with dad and bake with mom. I grew up In the countryside. I was ok with my gender through my puberty. I just didn't care about my chest or putting on make-up. I only cared about my drawings. I was kind of a loner in my class. During a toxic friendship I moved out to my first apartment. I also found out bars got karaoke and I loved it. I got compliments for my beauty and SO on. It was flattering, but when it just happened all the time at almost every bar I started to feel like an object. I also had had a no good relationships. Ok like 2, but... I have always only felt to be wanted sexually and just for fooling around. It hurts... Haven't had proper chance at romantic love. The lusting also makes me feel unsafe, bc tbh there's no way I could do shit if someone decided to force themselves on me. During this year I actually put my femminity, put it in a bag and send it to return address. Ever since that I have felt better. Not yet comfortable or complete on the outside, but in my heart I can feel big warm feeling when I think about transitioning or when someone sees me as a male.
