I just noticed something about this scene. Belle said let me go like 2 or 3 times while she was still holding the dagger but rumple was still holding onto her. That right there probably should have told her that the dagger was fake right there.
@@tiffanylooper3523 The latter. We've seen Dark Ones obey any command, even when it's not phrased like a command. Only a couple of episodes later, Belle commands Rumple to not crush Hook's heart without even speaking.
Yes that’s why he quickly distracted her by taking advantage of her noticing his cut she caused which implies the dagger is real bc he allowed the injury to remain.
00:08-00:11 *cough* she saved prince philip from that fire lion curse *cough* She saved storybrooke from Wendy's brothers *cough*she saved robin hood from rumple *cough* later she saves hook and kicks rumple off storybrooke yeah mirror you are right shes not a hero (sarcatic)
This shows how the writers and producers misuse Emilie. This shows the full potential of her acting abilities and yet she gets the shortest amount of screen time ever smh
Exactly and it's been a year later and she's still not in a lot of episodes. All I know is she better in season 7 or play a huge part in season 6 finale before I explode lol
PriceyMashups$ she'll be in one episode for season 7. But yeah to bad her character didn't get more feisty moments like this or idk we didn't get to see to many different sides of her for long. Anyways we did get to see quite a few different sides and it's her character. Not every character can show every different idk personality. Yeah she could use more lines sometimes but hey...she's on of the biggest characters and has been in every season. Other great actors got smaller parts. Oh and let's not forget the one time people...like Bo Peep who I really wanna see she's a classic character and very unique and the actress did great. I wish she wasn't just in ONE DAMN EPISODE!😂
The back and forth of rumple being a hero and a villain is honestly unnerving me at this point . One minute the love is enough to change him and then he's lying and hurting people he's worked to save. The show is called "Once Upon A Time" so I'm convinced it will end with a "Happily Ever After" but idk if it will be one for Rumple and Belle .
I know. At least with Regina, we can see that she's making an effort to be a good guy. Rumple...you love the guy and you want him to change and he seems to try for Belle, but yet he still goes around trying to kill Hook and he takes people's magic and...and...JUST MAKE HIM A GOOD GUY AND BE DONE WITH IT! MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, ti's not the dagger itself with him switching it well making her think she has the real one when WE ALL KNOW she has the fake one... the other problem with Rumbelle is that freakin' hat, whoever gave it to him as a wedding gift, has to be the writer, sorcerer or someone who just wants to put RB's marriage in divorce.. so unless it's Moe that controlling Rumple, that he was the one who gave the hat, then I'm thinking it's Belle's not-so-dead-mother, Colette who has been alive this whole time, after watching this episode again, at the end of this, Moe was relieved that Belle stopped searching for answers, I think it was a good thing Belle never knew right away of what really happened when she blacked out, bc I think what could've happened is that, someone stopped time and saved Colette, like idk, the Writer or the Sorcerer, if those two are the same person. I mean, Regina is hoping to find the writer by using Henry to spy on Rumple to find the writer, yet the sorcerer could appear any moment, yet may be also the writer, but that theory seems to obvious, so i won't hold that note. If you guys have watched Beauty&TheBeast movie you would know, they were always fighting and Beast was always yelling at Belle, yet Belle was always the one who had to calm him down. So in ONCEs universe, RB is kinda taking aspects of that Disney relationship, as similar things are happening on this show, only that this time, now that they're married, it's kinda worse than anyone would've expected as Belle is starting to notice, that Rumple will be found out about not only the switcheroo, but also the hat. Even Belle knew about it, I can't wait til Belle finds the hat! then maybe she'll think the dagger switch is true! after if she wasn't in the shop when Hook called Emma, then why the heck wasnt she in the library when OutlawScarlet were in there, unless she followed Hook and saw Rumple rip out his heart at their honeymoon mansion LOL
inkheart151 I think it's because unlike Regina, Rumple is an addict to power and his old ways. He's really used to lying and getting away with it, fully committing to something very pure is something I don't think he's ready for...oh well we'll see.
I hope he changes for the better. I mean, I've seen Rumple do bad things, such as ripping out his wife's heart, abandoning Bae, and other dastardly stuff, but he either had an excuse or went about to try and make it right in any possible way he could. This whole thing with killing Hook and lying to the one woman he loves and throwing everyone off track, all for that dagger...he KNOWS Belle won't misuse it, (well, kind of), and he promised Bae ON THE GRAVE that he would change...I mean...this is low even for Rumplestilsken! I mean, he seemed to get along better, but following this fourth season, he's just seemed to be getting worse. I mean, he barely has a conscious in anything it seems, and if he does, it isn't obvious! At least he had an excuse to kill Milah! At least he went bezerk looking for Bae after abandoning him! Now he's...what did the writers do to him?! If they make him destroy Storybrooke or become really nasty in this new episode coming in March with him paired up with the three nastiest villains of all time...I think I'll just die of a heart attack! I mean, he was THAT close to his happy ending! THAT close! And he RUINED it! Or almost! I don't know, we'll have to see how things play out, I guess.
In all honesty, Rumple never should have given Belle the dagger. And really he ought to have known better than to give her even a fake one. And for several reasons: 1. He knew Belle was smart. She liked puzzles and mysteries, not to mention books. It would have been absurd to think that she wouldn't eventually realize the dagger wasn't real. 2. Power corrupts. Rumple knows this all too well. Giving Belle the dagger is just asking to allow the darkness to tempt her to use it, which in this episode it does. You can't have power and not ever use it. 3. Belle isn't wholly innocent. Lacey is in there too and Lacey loves the darkness. It's not a stretch to imagine Belle or Lacey being tempted to use Rumple for their own gain. 4. Even if Belle was never tempted, other people would be. Rumple makes no secret that Belle has his dagger, that effectively makes her a target for anyone else who does want to control Rumple. Anyone could steal it from her or sneak up behind her and kill her for it. This is made worse by the fact that the dagger is a fake and thus Belle can't summon Rumple with it. Rumple wouldn't have wanted to put her in that kind of danger. 5. It was wholly unnecessary. Rumple may have used it as a clever way to convince people that he didn't kill Zelena, but after that he should have convinced Belle to give it back. It wouldn't have taken much for him to say, "You know, with the Snow Queen around, maybe it's best that I hold onto it...for now." and Belle would have agreed. I think the whole "fake dagger" trope really could have been executed better than it was. Belle carting it around in her purse everywhere was just not smart at all.
I'm sorry, but Belle's confession and begging for mercy is a little funny. I'm not sure if it's the irony that BELLE is apologizing to RUMPLE for something she thinks is unforgivable (almost like a jaywalker apologizing to a serial killer), or if it's because this scene reminds me of a scene in an episode of Castle, when Alexis (Castle's daughter) was distraught because she and her friends jumped the subway gates and Castle kept assuring her that she wouldn't be sent to Riker's for her crime.
Well, forcibly controlling your husband to heed your every command no matter what, then slashing at said husband with a knife, isn't exactly jaywalking.
Using that dagger (fake or not) on him was pretty horrible violation of trust, though, and Rumple being a jerk himself doesn't make it okay. Belle is probably the only person he really trusts, and he really did believe she wouldn't control him. And let's no forget that he was enslaved by Zelena just a while ago. That apology was really needed. And Rumple not only forgives her, but also sympathizes with her and even feels horrible about his own lies. Don't tell me this man doesn't truly love his wife. :) I think this scene is also meant to be a kind of parallel, as if Belle was voicing Rumple's thoughts: "And all I managed to do was abuse the dagger and take advantage of you, my true love." That's pretty much what Rumple is also doing, right? And he knows it and hates it. Just look at his face. "I don't even know if I deserve to be with you anymore." I bet this is what he is thinking too. "You were only doing what you thought was right" is what he is probably telling himself as well.
@@LongHairedGirl90yup. I HATED the fake dagger plot because it was the start of things going toxic for Rumbelle and the writers screwing rumple over. this is pretty much the only well written scene that came out of that whole mess. (For the reasons you listed) it's quite nuanced and well acted.
I'm in love with this show. I do not know how I could take too much time to watch it. I'm still in the first season but I must confess that I'm so curious to know about what's going to happen with Belle and The Beast.
I wish Belle would just turn a little bad and Rumple a little good then there would be balance, she's so..good that's a bit boring and he's so bad that I'm angry at him all the time for lying to her and stuff =.=
Last time I checked, Lacey is the villainous side of Belle, so if in the mid-season finale, next week Lacey returns, I wonder, if Belle can just turn or switch herself off, since Rumple keeps switching the damn daggers all the time. I think, since Regina made her Lacey, when Belle came back she remembered everything Lacey did with Gold. So like, this time around since Rumple died and it was just BeautyFire, she was still grieving her boyfriend, but Neal just wanted to get back to SwanBeliever so bad, he was willing to hurt Belle even more than he should've waited, he should've listened to Belle to find another way to resurrect Rumple from the dead, since Zelena controlled him even during Neal's funeral. Belle was totally messed up even more, so her emotions of guilt and heartache grew even more stronger and she felt helpless in EF with the others after she saw Neal trapped inside Rumple's body as they were sharing both minds. Lacey is like Belle's fail-safe, her what's it called, a panic button, Lacey is Belle's panic room, the place where Belle puts all the horrible stuff inside Lacey persona, when sooner or later, Belle would have to open that door and forget and put pass all that kindness, forgiveness and good in her heart and just switch it off and find another way to control that anger that's just piling up, I mean, I'm sure deep down inside Belle's head, Lacey is listening and even she knows Rumple is lying to Belle. It's like Belle has Multiple Identity Disorder, or however you wanna call it. bc Belle is so nice and good and she does things that the goodness of everyone else' presence. Rumple will definitely be in the doghouse once she finally finds out about everything he has lied to her about, I don't RB to be separated again, they just found each other, but with this twist after lying to her that he wouldn't kill Zelena, bc she killed Neal, he did it anyway. So that was the start of their unbalanced marriage soon to be trailing off the face of the earth to a never-ending love story gone wrong to the other last resort Belle can possibly do is at this very moment, is switch Belle off and let Lacey take over and let Rumple see how he likes been lied to, bc in reality, Lacey is pretending to Belle, bc Belle has let go and has caved into the darkness that is now in her good heart, and now her darkness as Lacey has finally taken its toll on Belle bc all of Rumple's lies! There, now I feel better! C'mon it's long overdue for a Lacey-comeback!
Belle you are great! I love Belle very much. I am surprised to see her weakness and fears to not be much for his true love. She is apologizing for a little wrong she made whe she was a girl. I love this episode because I see how a REAL HERO became Hero, a bit a bit, after sacrifice and mistakes.
I’m convinced Belle on the other extreme would have been THAT villain you DONT wanna fuck with. She can barely kill a fly yet her truth bombs are EVISCERATING. To herself and Rumple especially. Notice how quick people are to run and tell Belle when her husband is up to no good.....despite the love and fear of losing her, I think Rumple is a little afraid of her himself if this good girl ever “snapped”.
This is sooo sweet and I'm sooo emotional that I nearly cried for real that are so sweet and they are my favorite characters of ALL in once apon a time
the mirror might be right about Rumple's lies or Belle's a little bit hypocrisy(considering the reason of her obsession with becoming a hero is because she disappointed a person who literally had her back in Arendelle)and cowardness but is completely wrong about what Rumple thinks of her!no matter what he does,he still loves Belle so deeply💗💗💗
+Benny Penny I didn't mean it like that, I was just thinking this because Rumple assured her what the mirror said was false, but she finds out the truth, she may infer the mirror was right, despite it only being a reflection.
I thought 0:48 was a little extreme... she used to be quite okay (not totally but I bet you know what I mean) with him torturing Robin Hood and know he's a beast because he hides the real dagger?
Speaking from very painful personal experience... No one would truly want this relationship that Belle and Rumple share. All it would do in real life is cause more pain and heartache than anyone should ever have to go through. It's engrossing to watch on screen... But, only on screen should it be even the least bit appealing. Rumple's secrets will eventually come out, and then Belle is going to be utterly devastated...
SPOILER ALERT I had a weird dream last night that rumple and the queens of darkness found a way back into storybrook. He asked, as a lot of other villains do, "where's belle?, Is she happy with her decision?" Sarcastically. Emma said that nobody had seen her for a couple of months, so rumple uses a spell to find her. He finds her in their basement (you know, with all the spells and such), with a book on the ground opened to a page with the sleeping curse recipe on it. And belle on the floor next to the spinning wheel. Remember how at the end of the episode, belle talks about how his true love is power? When he tries to wake her up, she doesn't, because his true love is power. I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep because of how detailed the dream was. Haha, sorry, that was really long. Just thought it was interesting.
xActuallyEverythingx Belle is Rumple's true love. If she wasn't then the kiss would not work on "Skin Deep". Anyway, I think your theory is amazing. I'm sorry, my English is really bad haha.
ashawn203 Isn't that cool? :D My prediction was before the season even started! I was really interested in how their story would go in that season and I think the creators did a great job :)
It’s so hard to ship these two because I love them so much together but Rumple keeps screwing things up with the stupid dagger. I mean after Belle saying she knows he would never keep a secret from her that’s a sign he needs to get it together.
This scene hurts so much. I hate Rumple this season. Before, he was my favorite character, both in the Enchanted Forest and in Storybrooke. The writers totally fucked up him. And I don't get one thing. Does Belle have the real dagger or not, because he changed them back on their honeymoon and then he used it with the hat. BUT look, she actually cut him! ThIS dagger is supposed to be the only weapon that can harm him AND he would never bluntly lie to Belle. He would twist his words, but here he specifically said : nothing that mirror said is true!!!
+Maria Alexandra Belle did command him to let him go, but he didn't.The dagger was probably fake and the cut just an illusion. You can see he dodged the cut.
Kia Maria well, because with them, the only thing I can see is just father and daughter primarily because of the age difference. It's like she is in her 20s or 30s while Rumpel is in his what, 50s or 60s? Like, I'm just like, "that just doesn't seem right too me, it just doesn't." I mean, the Beauty and the Beast concept is there and all, but like I just can't with their age differences. And then at the same time, it's like I felt like she kept giving him ultimatums abd she was like, "well if you don't change, I'm gone." Like, I feel like she should have let him try to change on his own instead of forcing change down his throat. I just think she was too much of a goody goody two shoes for him. But, that's just me.
But the thing with Rumple is he has no incentive to change for himself. He's perfectly content with being 'The Dark One' and all the power that gives him over others. When he tried to change it was always for Bae or for Belle. But anyway, who do you ship him with?
Kia Maria Hey! Sorry it took me so long to respond. My notification bar wasn't acting up, so I had no idea you replied back to me. Yeah, you do have a point about him being "The Dark One." Like, Rumpel really loved his power, like he loved it more than he loved Belle. And there were definitely times when he tried to change for Bae or for Belle. But, I just think that Belle was just trying to force him to change and I just think that she was just nagging him and I'm like, "Girl......" Like, I think he'd be better off if he was with a likeminded person. And I just could never get with that huge age difference. Speaking of which, if I could ship him with anyone, I've definitely got a variety of people. :) I thought of shipping him with Regina/The Evil Queen because like they would just be so cute as a couple. Just think, every time they argue, they sound like an old married couple fighting! Lol! And then, I thought shipping him with Cora because he was very much in love with her. But, she turned out to be very deceiving and she didn't love him. And then came Zelena. They would've been perfect because of the fact that she actually had real feelings for him. Like, remember that episode where she had Rumpel under her control because of the dagger? He was trying to get the dagger back, so he pretended to care about her, they had a dinner date, he tried to seduce her, and he failed miserably. Like, she kicked him out of her house and she was in tears. I was like, "Dang, she really liked him." And then, I thought he and The Snow Queen had a load of chemistry there because of how they were acting around each other. Like, when he confronted her in her lair, you can tell that he was thinking, "You look good in that gown of yours" and she was probably thinking, "You look good in that suit." And then, if none of those options worked, then hands down Ursula. Like, there is A LOT there with the two of them, especially because they both make deals.
