Ben Askren had a stellar wrestling and MMA career before coming to the UFC late in life. Kudo's to him for knowing when to walk away before he is brain dead like so many other fighters. Ben Askren will become a fight announcer, analyst, or anything he wants to be in life. He had a short timeline to make it to the top after he was essentially retired. People forget, up until the late 80's, mid-30's was the end of an athletes prime in almost all sports. The proliferation of steroids has pushed that age well into the 40's for guys like Roger Clemens, Andre Dawson, Barry Bonds, Anderson Silva, etc. Ben Askren was not a steroid user.

TrakSpock1 all askrens UFC career proved is that the level of competition in the UFC is so much higher compared to the other organisations he's fought in. I mean the fact someone so one dimensional with zero striking was able to become champ of bellator and one fc just reflects badly on them organisations, UFC just too much for him lol. And no one start saying to me he beat lawler because in my eyes and a lot of other people lawler wasn't out yet and the fight shouldn't have been stopped. Such a controversial decision he should be 0-3 in UFC
